Definitions

  • the present invention relates to the technical field of hair clippers or beard.
  • the invention relates more particularly to the field of electric hair clippers or beard.
  • Such clippers generally comprise a body equipped with a cutting head which is composed of two comb knives animated by a relative movement of alternating oscillations provided by an electric motor.
  • the power supply of the motor is provided by one or more rechargeable accumulators disposed in the body of the mower, a wired power supply can also be considered.
  • the mower also includes a set of removable shoes that are adapted to the body under the cutting head to define a bearing surface on the epidermis of the user. The cutting height corresponding to the distance between this bearing surface and the cutting head is then determined by the dimensions of the shoe whose change allows to choose the cutting height.
  • the disadvantage of such a mode of adjusting the cutting height lies in the discreet nature of this setting offering a number of cutting heights limited by the number of removable shoes available.
  • a mower according to the preamble of claim 1 is known from the document DE 40 03 511 C1 .
  • the invention relates to an electric hair or beard trimmer comprising a mower body, a cutting head integral with the body and driven by an electric motor and a shoe integral with the body and defining a surface bearing on the epidermis.
  • this electric mower is characterized in that it comprises a cutting carriage which carries the cutting head and the electric motor and which is movable in translation in the mower body relative to the bearing surface of the shoe and moved in translation by means of adjusting the distance between the cutting head and the bearing surface of the shoe, said cutting height.
  • Such a design of the mower avoids inadvertent adjustment during use to the extent that no effort resulting from the application of the mower against the epidermis is transmitted to the cutting head. Indeed, all the efforts related to the contact of the shoe with the epidermis are taken up by the hoof which is fixed, with no possibility of movement, relative to the body of the mower during the use phase and which has only one position of installation or adaptation on the body of the mower. In addition, because there is no possibility of relative movement between the shoe and the body of the mower, the repositioning of the shoe, for example after cleaning the mower head, will always be in the same position, which prevents any loss of reference or misalignment of the cutting height.
  • the implementation of a carriage which carries the cutting head and its electric drive motor, ensures perfect transmission of the engine torque to the cutting head regardless of the position of the cutting head and ensures the reliability of the mower avoiding any risk of breakage of the connection between the motor and the cutting head.
  • the mower's hoof is removable and the mower is associated with at least two hooves interchangeable to obtain different ranges of cutting heights.
  • This advantageous characteristic of the invention makes it possible to obtain, with one and the same mower, a plurality of cutting height ranges that are suitable for different uses and in which it is possible to obtain, thanks to the displacement of the cutting head, a reliable adjustment of the height of the cutter. chopped off.
  • a set of four interchangeable shoes a first having a cutting height range of between 3 and 15 mm, a second having a cutting height range of between 18 and 30 mm, a third offering a range of cutting height of between 33 and 45 mm and a last, so-called finishing, to obtain a minimum cutting height of between 1 mm and 2 mm and preferably of the order of 1.5 mm and a maximum cutting height range up to 12 mm more than the minimum starting height.
  • the electric mower according to the invention comprises means for indicating the value of the cutting height.
  • the means for indicating the value of the cutting height may be made in any appropriate manner and, for example, include a sensor associated with the cutting head or the means for moving the latter and connected to a calculating unit a digital or analog display of the cutting height.
  • the display of the cutting height is analog without involving sensor or calculation unit.
  • the means for indicating the cutting height comprise a window integral with the shoe or the body and a slider which is linked to the cutting head while being visible inside the window and which indicates the height of the cut by its position in the window.
  • each shoe will include a window indicating the cutting height.
  • the window of each shoe is associated with graduations and numerical indications indicating the range of cutting heights authorized by the shoe.
  • Such numerical indications may for example correspond to the minimum height and the maximum height between which the adjustment is possible for the shoe used.
  • the displacement of the cutting head relative to the body of the mower can be achieved in any appropriate manner such as, for example, by a mechanical operating system operated by means of a slider or a wheel .
  • the cutting height adjustment means are actuated by an electric motor. It is then possible to implement an actuating motor means for adjusting the cutting height distinct from the driving motor of the cutting head.
  • the driving motor of the cutting head may also be envisaged, for reasons of cost reduction, space and weight, to use the driving motor of the cutting head to ensure the actuation of the cutting height adjustment means and in this case.
  • the driving motor of the cutting head is associated with selection means adapted to allow either a driving of the cutting head or an actuation of the cutting height adjustment means.
  • the mechanism implemented by means of displacement of the cutting head can be achieved in any appropriate manner.
  • the adjustment means of the height comprise a screw mechanism which comprises, on the one hand, a worm integral with the body and being rotated by actuating means and, secondly, a nut connected to the cutting head and adapted to transform a rotation of the screw into a continuous movement of the head.
  • the mower is adapted to ensure a neutralization or blocking of the cutting height adjustment means during operation. of the cutting head.
  • the latter comprises means of servocontrolling the translation of the cutting head to the displacement of the surface of the mower. support on the epidermis which are adapted to allow the realization of a degraded cut automatically.
  • the implementation of the servo means then makes it possible to obtain a proportionality between the displacement of the bearing surface on the epidermis and the displacement of the cutting head.
  • the servo-control means may be made in any suitable manner and, for example, comprise a wheel adapted to the shoe to come into contact with the epidermis and, by its rotation, to allow a determination of the distance traveled on the epidermis. this distance then being converted, either by purely mechanical means or by electronic or electromechanical means into a displacement of the cutting head.
  • optical measuring means to determine the distance traveled by the hoof on the epidermis.
  • the cutting head is removably fitted on the cutting carriage.
  • the shoe will also be removable and the mower will then be associated with at least two interchangeable cutting heads, a cutting head being adapted to be used alone or in combination with the shoe for the trimming of hair or hair and another cutting head being adapted to be used without a hoof and allow a shave of the hair or hair.
  • a hair trimmer or beard as illustrated in Fig. 1 and generally designated by the reference 1, comprises a body 2 defining a gripping zone 3 and being equipped in the lower part of a cutting head 4.
  • the mower 1 also comprises at least one and, according to the illustrated example, two removable shoes 5 and 6 each intended to adapt alternatively to the lower end of the body 2 as shown in FIG. Fig. 2 .
  • the body 2 of the mower comprises two tenons 1 shall engaging in O openings provided at the end of a flexible tongue L of each shoe 5.6.
  • Each shoe 5, 6 defines by its lower part a surface 7 of support or contact of the mower with the epidermis of the user or the person whose hair or beard is cut by means of the mower 1 according to the 'invention. It will be noted that the bearing surface 7 of the shoes 5 and 6 is bent backwards so as to facilitate the rocker movements of the mower so as to perform degraded cuts.
  • the cutting head 4 is adapted to the body 2 so as to be movable in translation relative to the body 2 and to the bearing surface 7 of the shoe 5 or 6 fitted on the latter.
  • the cutting head 4 is rigidly connected to a block or cutting carriage 10 which slides inside the body 2.
  • the cutting carriage 10 is guided in translation by slides disposed on either side of the carriage 10 and each consisting of a straight groove 10 1 arranged in the cutting carriage 10 and engaged on a tongue 10 2 2.
  • the cutting carriage 10 also carries the electric motor 11 driving the cutting head 4.
  • the embodiment of a cutting head and its driving by an electric motor will not be described here in to the extent that it is widely known to those skilled in the art and is not part of the subject of the present invention as such.
  • the mower 1 comprises means 12 for adjusting the cutting height H which ensures the displacement of the cutting carriage 10.
  • the means for adjusting the cutting height 12 comprise a worm system whose screw 13 is secured to the body 2 being rotated by an electric motor 14 for actuating the adjusting means 12.
  • the electric motor 14 and its gear are securely fixed to the body 2 by means of fixing screws.
  • the screw 13 then cooperates with a nut 15 which is rigidly connected to the cutting carriage 10.
  • the electric drive motors 11 of the cutting head 4 and the actuator 14 of the cutting height adjusting means 12 are fed by electric accumulators A disposed in the body 2 of the mower 1.
  • the operation of the motor drive 11 is then controlled by an on / off switch 17 accessible on the top of the body 2.
  • the operation of the actuating motor 14 is, in turn, controlled by an inverter switch 18 can be moved either upwards or towards the bottom depending on the direction of movement of the cutting head 4 sought as will subsequently appear, the neutral or middle position of the inverter switch 18 corresponding to a stop of the actuating motor 14.
  • the mower 1 thus formed operates in the following manner.
  • the user actuates the inverter switch 18, for example, downwards to obtain a reduction in the cutting height H.
  • the cutting head 4 moves from a position high as illustrated in Fig. 2 , corresponding to the maximum cutting height, to a low position illustrated in FIG. Fig. 4 corresponding to the minimum cutting height possible with the shoe used 5.
  • the motor 14 stops, immobilizing the cutting head to the position it has reached. It should be noted that the use of a worm 13 to move the cutting carriage 10 carrying the cutting head 4, provides a continuous and fine adjustment of the cutting height H.
  • the user can control, by means of the switch 17, the operation of the cutting head 4.
  • the switch 17 the operation of the cutting head 4.
  • the cutting head can not be reached, the comb being rigid enough to withstand the forces, because having no deflection relative to the body 2, it is always in fixed abutment on the body 2.
  • the mower according to the invention is designed so that the inverter switch 18 is neutralized when the switch 17 is in the on position. Conversely, it will not be possible to actuate the switch 17 when the actuating motor 14 is in operation.
  • the mower 1 makes it possible in a simple manner to obtain a reliable adjustment of the cutting height H which will be a function of the minimum height of cut allowed by the shoe and the amplitude of the displacement of the cutting head 4 between its low position and its high position.
  • H the cutting height
  • the second shoe 6 may, moreover, be designed to allow a minimum cutting height of 1.5 mm allowing a range of adjustment of 1.5 mm to 16.5 mm.
  • the mower 1 is preferably equipped with means 20 for indicating the cutting height.
  • the indication means 20 comprise a window 21 secured to the shoe 5 or 6 and a slider 22 connected to the cutting head 4 and here etched on the front of the cutting carriage 10.
  • the slider 22 is visible and its position materializes the cutting height.
  • the window 21 can then be associated with graduations and numerical indications 23 indicating the range of cutting height value possible with the shoe 5. Insofar as the window 21 and the numerical indications 23 are carried by each shoe 5 or 6, it is not necessary to implement complex hoof recognition system to update the information provided by the indication means 20.
  • Electric drive motors 11 and actuator 14 are separate.
  • the Fig. 5 shows an embodiment in which the same electric motor 25 provides either the driving of the cutting head 4, or the actuation of the displacement means 12.
  • the electric motor 25 is movable in translation in the body 2 being carried by means of selection and displacement 26.
  • the electric motor 25 carries at the ends of its drive shaft 27, mechanical coupling systems 28 and 29 for alternately driving the means 12 for adjusting the cutting height or the cutting head 4 according to the position of the selection means 26.
  • the operation of the electric motor 25 is further controlled by a switch 30 disposed on the body 2 of the mower 1.
  • the Fig. 6 illustrates another variant of the mower described in relation to the Fig. 1 to 3 .
  • the mower comprises means 40 for servocontrolling the translation of the cutting head 4 to the displacement of the bearing surface 7 on the epidermis.
  • the servocontrol means 40 then comprise a calculation and control unit 41 connected to a wheel 42 intended to come into contact with the epidermis so that its rotation makes it possible to indicate the distance traveled on the epidermis.
  • the calculation and control unit 41 then converts this distance into a proportional displacement of the cutting head 4 and controls the actuating motor 14 to move the cutting head 4 and thus perform a degraded cut automatically.
  • the modification of the cutting height is then performed without action on the switch 18, while the switch 17 is in the on position.
  • the Fig. 7 illustrates yet another variant of the mower described in relation to the Fig. 1 to 3 .
  • the cutting head 4 is removable so that it can easily be detached from the cutting carriage 10 once the shoe 5 is removed. This removal of the cutting head 4 greatly facilitates cleaning.
  • the mower may advantageously be associated with a second removable cutting head 4 ' interchangeable with the first cutting head 4.
  • the second cutting head 4' is preferably designed to ensure shaving of the hairs or hair while the first cutting head 4 is designed to mow hair or hair.
