Abstract

The free-arm canopy comprises a mast (2), on which an extendable and retractable jib (10) is arranged, with a transverse fitting (34) at the end thereof on which a canopy (12) is arranged on a canopy pole (30) by means of a joint (32). The canopy (12) comprises a slider (36), connected in a jointed fashion to top ribs (44) by means of support ribs (40) which are further jointed to a crown (48) connected to the canopy pole (30), wherein the canopy (12) may be opened and closed by means of a tensile line (70) connected to the slider (36) and displacing the canopy pole (30) against the fitting (34) and thus locking the joint (32) on opening. According to the invention, the free-arm canopy may be improved, whereby the crown (48) of the canopy (12) is arranged on the upper end of a pole piece (52) in the form of a sleeve which may be displaced over the fitting (34) such that with an open canopy (12) the crown (48) goes over the joint (32) and is at least almost in contact with the jib (10).

Description

Technisches GebietTechnical area

The invention relates to a Freiarmschirm according to the preamble of claim 1.

Stand der TechnikState of the art

A Freiarmschirm of the type mentioned is for example from the EP 1 550 383 A known. The Freiarmschirm has a mast on which a retractable and extendable boom is arranged. At the free end of the boom, a transversely projecting approach is present, on which a screen is arranged by means of a canopy over a hinge. The screen has a slider which is pivotally connected by support struts with roof bars, which in turn are hinged to a connected to the umbrella pole crown. The umbrella pole has an upper insertion part with which it engages with the umbrella open in a receiving part of the approach and thereby blocks the joint. The disadvantage is that the crown of the screen by design with the screen open a relatively large distance from the boom, whereby the center of gravity of the open screen has a correspondingly large distance from the boom, which makes the tilting of the open screen by pivoting the boom about its axis and prevents a compact design.

Next is from the US 2003/0192580 A another Freiarmschirm known, in which at the free end of the boom, a transversely projecting approach is arranged. The approach has at the lower end a joint shell with an internal toothing, which cooperates with an attached at the upper end of the umbrella pole condyle with an external toothing. At the upper end of the umbrella pole, the crown of the umbrella is arranged in front of the condyle. The arrangement is not only very complex, but also causes a relatively large distance of the screen from the boom. The joint is always freely accessible and unprotected .. The opening of the screen by means of a rope by lifting the slider, wherein the teeth for fixing the position of the screen is brought into engagement. The disadvantage is that even a slight decrease the rope tension leads to a loosening or even loosening of the locking of the toothing, which can lead not only to damage to the teeth but in particular to an unwanted pivoting of the screen on the boom and thus to an accident hazard.

From the US Pat. No. 6,014,980 Another free-arm screen is known in which at the free end of the boom by means of a joint, a shoulder is arranged, on which the umbrella pole is fixed, wherein the crown is connected to a latch which holds the opened screen at an angle to the boom. Again, the crown has a relatively large distance from the boom and the joint always unprotected and thus leads to the disadvantages discussed above.

A Freiarmschirm according to the preamble of claim 1 is known from DE 33 39 163 known.

Darstellung der ErfindungPresentation of the invention

The object of the invention is to improve the Freiarmschirm of the type mentioned.

The stated object is solved by the characterizing features of claim 1. Characterized in that the crown of the screen is arranged at the upper end portion of a sleeve formed as a sleeve part which is displaceable over the approach that the crown exceeds the hinge with the umbrella open and at least approximately on the boom, resulting in a reduction of the center of gravity distance of the open Umbrella from the boom, which must be used for tilting the open screen by pivoting the boom less force. Moreover, this training allows a reduction in the total necessary height of the free-arm. The fact that the crown exceeds the joint in the open state of the umbrella, not only gives optimum protection of the joint, but the blocking of the screen in the set position remains safe even if the rope tension should subside.

Furthermore, when the umbrella is open, the joint disappears visually completely inside the umbrella and is thus protected against contamination and reduces the risk of injury to the user. This and the reduced distance the screen from the boom results in an improved appearance of the free-arm screen.

Advantageous embodiments of the Freiarmschirmes are described in the dependent claims 2 to 4.

According to claim 2, the crown may have an upper collar, in which a hinge pin is arranged, which is guided in a longitudinal slot of the neck, wherein the collar has on a side parallel to the hinge pin has a recess which corresponds approximately to half the cross section of the neck such that the crown is pivotable with the screen closed against the approach. This results in a very simple design, in which the joint part is protected, so that a Verklemmrisiko is avoided. The disadvantage is the recess on the collar of the crown.

Expedient is the embodiment according to claim 3, according to which the umbrella pole at the upper part has a sliding in the sleeve-like part of the floor stock part, which is connected via the joint with the neck, wherein in approach and in the connected floor part of the displacement path delimiting groove is present in the engages a arranged inside the sleeve-like stock part or the crown sliding block. In this case, a recess on a collar is not required and the crown provides a closed image. In addition, the sleeve-like stock part is guided by the groove / sliding block arrangement on both sides of the joint against rotation.

The approach can be unbössbar connected to the boom. Conveniently, the Freiarmschirm according to claim 4, however, designed so that the approach is removable from the boom.

Like from the FIGS. 1 and 2 and in particular from the Figures 3 and 4 can be seen, the screen 12 is arranged by means of a screen stick 30 via a hinge 32 on a projection 34 which is arranged at the free end of the arm 10 and transversely thereto. The latter are in turn connected via joints 46 with a crown 48 which is fixed to the umbrella pole 30. The umbrella pole 30 is formed by a pole 50, which is connected via the joint 32 with the projection 34. Next, the umbrella pole 30 includes a sleeve-shaped stick portion 52 which is disposed above the stick portion 50 and at the upper end of the crown 48 is attached. The projection 34 is now formed so that it forms the continuation of the stick portion 50 and the crown 48 is movable by means of the sleeve-like pole portion 52 against the boom 10, so that the crown 48 with the screen 12 open exceeds the pivot point of the joint 32 and the boom 10 is pending. The umbrella pole 30 is provided with an anti-rotation lock 54, which consists of a groove 56 which extends in the projection 34 and in the floor part 50 to a stop 58. On the inside of the sleeve-like pole part 52, a sliding block 60 is arranged, which is movable in the groove 56, and whose displacement is limited by the stop 58 downwards. The projection 34 is detachably inserted in a recess 62 in a head portion 64 of the arm 10 and secured by a bolt 66 in the head portion 64.

To open and close the screen is a pulling member 70 which is fixed to the slider 36 and extends through the umbrella floor 30 and the projection 34 in the head portion 64 of the arm 10. At a deflection 72, the tension member 70 is guided in the arm 10 and extends to the other end of the boom, is further diverted into the handlebar 26 and finally reaches a winch 74 which is operable with a crank 76. To open the screen, the pulling member 70 is caught with the winch 74 until the slider 36 engages with a pin 78 in the sleeve-like stick portion 52. By further catching up of the pulling member 70, the sleeve-like pole portion 52 is raised and slides over the projection 34 until the crown 48 is present on the arm 10 and its head part 64, as seen from Fig. 4 can be seen. The sleeve-like stick portion 52 covers the joint 32 and thus blocks the joint. The groove / sliding block arrangement ensures a relatively long securing path also for blocking the joint, so that even with a certain release of the tension of the tension member 70 or insufficient tension of the screens when opening the blocking of the joint is maintained and so an unwanted oscillation of the screen against the mast is prevented.

The FIGS. 5 and 6 show a modified embodiment of the projection 34a of the joint 32a and the crown 48a. The projection 34a is in turn passable by the sleeve-like pole portion 52a. The crown 48a includes an upper collar 80 in which a hinge pin 82 of the hinge 32a is disposed. The hinge pin 82 is slidably attached in a longitudinal slot 84 of the projection 34a. In the lowermost position, the hinge 32a is free and the crown 48a can pivot about the hinge pin 82. For this purpose, the collar 80 and the sleeve-like pole portion 52a parallel to the hinge pin 82 has a recess 86 which corresponds approximately to half the cross section of the projection 34, so that the screen can be pivoted in the closed state against the boom 10, as from Fig. 5 evident. When the umbrella is open, the projection 34a engages in the sleeve-like pole portion 52a and the hinge pin 82 is located at the upper end of the longitudinal slot 84. The sleeve-like pole portion 52a arranged above the projection 34a thus blocks the joint 32a.

Also, the longitudinal slot 84 provides a relatively long displacement of the sleeve-like pole portion 52a and thus the crown 48a, which carries the hinge pin 82, so that even here with a certain release of the tension of the tension member 70, the blocking of the joint 32a is maintained and so on unwanted oscillation of the screen is prevented against the mast.
