Definitions
- the invention relates to a heat exchanger device, in particular a crossflow cooler for a motor vehicle, according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a displayable size of the heat transfer device is essentially formed by the distance of the side members to each other, a ground clearance and a hood height.
- the longitudinal beam positions are essentially determined by the space requirement of the engine and by Radhüll lake the steered wheels.
- the ground clearance or vehicle position above the road results from the vehicle concept or from functional requirements, for example to avoid a collision in multi-storey car parks.
- Ultimately remains as a variable to represent necessary heat exchanger surfaces only the height of the heat exchanger device and thus to change the hood contour.
- a heat exchanger which does not form a continuous heat exchanger plane, but in which the heat exchanger unit, formed here by lamellae, forms a plurality of mutually staggered heat exchanger levels.
- the stepped arrangement is intended to make better use of the space available in an engine compartment of a motor vehicle.
- the present invention is concerned with the problem of providing a heat transfer device which efficiently utilizes a maximum possible or given width between the vehicle side rails in order to reduce the overall height of the heat transfer device for a given heat transfer surface.
- the invention is based on the general idea of adapting an outer contour of a heat exchanger device, for example a crossflow cooler for a motor vehicle, which is arranged between two vehicle longitudinal members, to the vehicle longitudinal members such that a shape integration of the vehicle longitudinal members in the outer contour is formed. As a result, a space width between the vehicle longitudinal members can be used efficiently.
- the heat exchanger device has a heat transfer region, for example a cooler / lamellar network and at least two collection / distribution containers arranged laterally on this heat transfer region and extending substantially vertically. In the area of the vehicle longitudinal members, the laterally arranged collecting / distributing containers each have a recess formed complementary to them, so that the heat transfer surface can be guided almost completely across the width between the vehicle longitudinal members.
- the recess on the side collection / distribution tanks can be chosen so large that a remaining cross section of the collection / distribution tank in the region of the recess allows a required coolant exchange between the upper and lower collection / distribution tank section.
- the lateral collection / distribution containers thus encompass the vehicle longitudinal member in the region of the recess and continue above and below it, so that the heat transfer surface lying between the lateral collection / distribution containers can be made wider.
- connection lines are arranged at least in one of the collection / distribution container in the region of the recess, which connect a section of the collection / distribution container lying above the recess with a section located below the recess.
- At least one of the lateral collection / distribution container in the region of the recess on a separating web which seals a section lying above the recess against a lying below the recess portion of the collection / distribution container.
- a separating web makes it possible, for example, to divide the heat exchanger device into two heat transfer regions, namely one located above the recess and one located below the recess.
- the heat exchanger device can be adapted by simple structural changes to respective vehicle-related requirements.
- the introduction of the at least one divider requires only minor changes in the manufacturing process of the heat exchanger device, whereby a range of uses of the heat exchanger device according to the invention can be widened.
- the two above the recess located portions of the collection / distribution container with the two located below the recess portions are connected in series or fluidly separated from them.
- the latter variant offers the possibility to divide the heat exchanger device into two different and independent cooling areas and thereby at least two different To realize cooling circuits with a single heat transfer device.
- a better uniform distribution of a heat transfer medium within the heat exchanger device is achieved because dead water areas that can occur in diagonally opposite inlet and outlet nozzles, can be significantly reduced and thereby the performance of the heat exchanger device can be increased.
- the vehicle longitudinal members are at least partially immersed in the complementary recesses of the collection / distribution containers. This ensures that the two collection / distribution containers are arranged substantially above and below the vehicle longitudinal members and thus an area between the two vehicle longitudinal members can be used almost exclusively by the heat transfer area.
- Such a heat transfer area is significantly wider than in conventional heat exchanger devices, which are arranged entirely between the vehicle longitudinal members.
- FIG. 1 an installation position of a heat transfer device 1 according to the invention is shown centrally between two longitudinal beams 2 and 2 ', wherein a representable size of the vertically arranged heat transfer device 1 is essentially determined by the distance between the two side members 2, 2' of a ground clearance and a hood height.
- the position of the vehicle longitudinal members 2, 2 ' is essentially determined by the space requirement of a drive device, not shown, and by Radhüll vom 3 also not shown steered wheels.
- the solution according to the invention proposes to exclude at least two laterally arranged on the heat transfer region 4 and substantially vertically extending collection / distribution container 6, 6 'in the region of the vehicle longitudinal members 2, 2' complementary to these outside, so with outermost recesses 7 Mistake.
- a recess 7 causes a cross section of the respective collection / distribution container 6, 6 'in the region of the recess 7 is strongly tapered.
- the recess 7 thus causes the collection / distribution container 6 that this is divided into a located above the recess 7 section 8 and located below the recess 7 section 8a. Similarly, the recess 7 'divides the other collection / distribution container 6 'in a above the recess 7' located portion 8b and an underlying section 8c.
- internal and / or external connecting lines 9, 9 ' can be arranged in at least one of the collecting / distributing containers 6, 6' in the region of the recess 7, 7 ' be, which connect the above the recess 7, 7 'lying section 8, 8b with the below the recess 7, 7' lying section 8a, 8c.
- connection hose can already be shared and the heat exchanger device 1 in a above the recess 7 and 7 'located heat exchanger section 10 and an underlying heat exchanger section 10' are divided, in which case each heat exchanger section 10, 10 'an inlet 11th or 11 'and a sequence 12 or 12' receives.
- the heat transfer device 1 is in principle designed as a cross-flow cooler, so that a heat transfer medium, for example, from a collection / distribution tank 6, the heat transfer area 4 substantially horizontally flows through and then reaches the collection / distribution container 6 '.
- At least one of the lateral collecting / distributing containers 6, 6 'can have a separating web 13, 13' in the region of the respective recess 7, 7 ' Recess 7, 7 'lying section 8, 8b against the below the recess 7, 7' lying section 8a, 8c fluidly seals.
- the collecting / distributing container 6 is fluidically subdivided by the separating web 13 into previously mentioned sections, whereby a throughflow of the heat exchanger device 1 changed with respect to FIG. 1 is achieved.
- cooling medium flows via the inlet 11 into the upper heat exchanger section 10 and flows through it from left to right up to the section 8b of the collecting / distributing container 6 '.
- This is now traversed from right to left until the section 8a of the collection / distribution container 6 is reached.
- the heat transfer medium leaves the section 8a of the collecting / distributing container 6 via an outlet 12 ".
- the heat exchanger section 10 and the heat exchanger section 10 ' flow one behind the other and are connected in series.
- both the collecting / distributing container 6 and the collecting / distributing container 6 ' have a separating web 13 or 13' in the region of the respective recess 7, 7 ', so that the heat exchanger section 10 is fluidically from the heat exchanger section 10 'is disconnected.
- This provides the opportunity to create two independent and independent batheries- or cooling circuits.
- it is thus also possible to realize high and low temperature coolers in a single heat exchanger device 1, which specifically serve to cool certain systems.
- Water-side oil cooling works better from a thermodynamic point of view, when an inlet temperature has a greater temperature difference, whereas a cooling water for a drive device works better from a thermodynamic point of view, as long as it has a low temperature difference.
- both heat exchanger sections 10, 10 ' have their own inlet 11, 11' and their own outlet 12, 12 '.
- the arrangement of the inlets 11 and drains 12 is shown by way of example only in accordance with FIGS. 1 to 3, so that other directions of flow of the invention should also be included.
- the collection / distribution containers 6, 6 ' which are each arranged laterally of the heat transfer region 4, have in the region of the vehicle longitudinal members 2, 2' on the outside, in each case, a complementary recess 7, 7 '.
- the heat transfer region 4 may have a greater width. For a given area size of the heat transfer area 4, its height can thereby be reduced.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a heat exchanger device, in particular a crossflow cooler for a motor vehicle, according to the preamble of
In a conventional installation of a heat transfer device in the front center between the longitudinal members of a motor vehicle, a displayable size of the heat transfer device is essentially formed by the distance of the side members to each other, a ground clearance and a hood height. The longitudinal beam positions are essentially determined by the space requirement of the engine and by Radhüllflächen the steered wheels. The ground clearance or vehicle position above the road results from the vehicle concept or from functional requirements, for example to avoid a collision in multi-storey car parks. Ultimately remains as a variable to represent necessary heat exchanger surfaces only the height of the heat exchanger device and thus to change the hood contour. In particular, in sports vehicles and in terms of pedestrian protection, however, it is desirable to keep an upper edge of the heat exchanger device down. This results in a conflict of goals, especially in high-powered vehicles with large cooling requirements.
The present invention is concerned with the problem of providing a heat transfer device which efficiently utilizes a maximum possible or given width between the vehicle side rails in order to reduce the overall height of the heat transfer device for a given heat transfer surface.
This problem is solved according to the invention by the subject matter of
The invention is based on the general idea of adapting an outer contour of a heat exchanger device, for example a crossflow cooler for a motor vehicle, which is arranged between two vehicle longitudinal members, to the vehicle longitudinal members such that a shape integration of the vehicle longitudinal members in the outer contour is formed. As a result, a space width between the vehicle longitudinal members can be used efficiently. The heat exchanger device has a heat transfer region, for example a cooler / lamellar network and at least two collection / distribution containers arranged laterally on this heat transfer region and extending substantially vertically. In the area of the vehicle longitudinal members, the laterally arranged collecting / distributing containers each have a recess formed complementary to them, so that the heat transfer surface can be guided almost completely across the width between the vehicle longitudinal members. Due to this widened heat transfer surface can be reduced with the same space requirement their height and thus for example a sporty outer contour of the vehicle can be realized. At the same time, the reduced height of the heat exchanger device is favorable with regard to future requirements for pedestrian protection. The recess on the side collection / distribution tanks can be chosen so large that a remaining cross section of the collection / distribution tank in the region of the recess allows a required coolant exchange between the upper and lower collection / distribution tank section. The lateral collection / distribution containers thus encompass the vehicle longitudinal member in the region of the recess and continue above and below it, so that the heat transfer surface lying between the lateral collection / distribution containers can be made wider.
According to a preferred embodiment of the solution according to the invention, internal and / or external connection lines are arranged at least in one of the collection / distribution container in the region of the recess, which connect a section of the collection / distribution container lying above the recess with a section located below the recess. If a cross-sectional tapering of the lateral collecting / distributing containers in the area of the recess is so great that a sufficient coolant exchange between the upper and the lower portion of the respective collecting / distributing container is no longer sufficient, then external connecting lines can be provided here, which ensure the required coolant exchange , Alternatively, of course, already a connection hose can be shared so that each collection / distribution tank receives its own connection and thus the heat exchanger device has two flow and two return pipe.
According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, at least one of the lateral collection / distribution container in the region of the recess on a separating web, which seals a section lying above the recess against a lying below the recess portion of the collection / distribution container. Such a separating web makes it possible, for example, to divide the heat exchanger device into two heat transfer regions, namely one located above the recess and one located below the recess. As a result, the heat exchanger device can be adapted by simple structural changes to respective vehicle-related requirements. The introduction of the at least one divider requires only minor changes in the manufacturing process of the heat exchanger device, whereby a range of uses of the heat exchanger device according to the invention can be widened.
Suitably, the two above the recess located portions of the collection / distribution container with the two located below the recess portions are connected in series or fluidly separated from them. In particular, the latter variant offers the possibility to divide the heat exchanger device into two different and independent cooling areas and thereby at least two different To realize cooling circuits with a single heat transfer device. In two fluidly separated sections also a better uniform distribution of a heat transfer medium within the heat exchanger device is achieved because dead water areas that can occur in diagonally opposite inlet and outlet nozzles, can be significantly reduced and thereby the performance of the heat exchanger device can be increased.
According to a particularly preferred embodiment of the solution according to the invention, when the heat transfer device is mounted in the motor vehicle, the vehicle longitudinal members are at least partially immersed in the complementary recesses of the collection / distribution containers. This ensures that the two collection / distribution containers are arranged substantially above and below the vehicle longitudinal members and thus an area between the two vehicle longitudinal members can be used almost exclusively by the heat transfer area. Such a heat transfer area is significantly wider than in conventional heat exchanger devices, which are arranged entirely between the vehicle longitudinal members.

In Fig. 1, an installation position of a
In order to optimally utilize a space between the two vehicle
In order to enable a sufficient coolant exchange between the
As shown in Fig. 1, the
In order to be able to increase a functionality of the
As shown in FIG. 3, both the collecting / distributing
In summary, the essential features of the solution according to the invention can be characterized as follows:
In order to use a space between two vehicle
