in that the guiding, immobilising, welding and cutting means are arranged substantially above the palletised load, so as to lock the wrapping on the upper face (3) of said load,
in that the guiding and immobilising means comprise two pairs of guiding (12) and immobilising (14) jaws arranged on either side of the welding means (15), each free strip (13) of film connecting the palletised load and the unwinding devices, at the end of wrapping, being pulled taut between the guiding jaws (12) of the two pairs, and the immobilising jaws (14) of each pair being designed to immobilise a free strip (13) of film in contact with the respective guiding jaw, the jaws (12, 14) of each pair of jaws being able to move with respect to one another so as to form a clamp,
and in that the immobilising (14) and guiding (12) jaws are each articulated between a first, substantially horizontal position and a second, substantially vertical position. - Device (1) according to claim 1, characterised in that the two guiding jaws (12) are able, in the substantially vertical position, to arrange in a substantially parallel manner each free strip portion (13) held taut between them.
- Device (1) according to claim 1, characterised in that the cutting means comprise a heating wire fixed to each immobilising jaw.
- Device (1) according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the welding means (15, 21) are arranged substantially in the vertical axis of symmetry of the platform (4).
- Device (1) according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that it comprises means forming a stabiliser (18) which are designed to come to bear against the upper face (3) of the load (6) during the wrapping of the side faces (2) thereof.
- Device (1) according to claim 5, characterised in that the means forming a stabiliser (18) comprise housings and/or passages for the welding means (15), the cutting means, the guiding means (12) and the immobilising means (14).
- Device (1) according to one of claims 5 and 6, characterised in that the means forming a stabiliser (18) on the one hand and the welding means (15), cutting means, guiding means (12) and immobilising means (14) on the other hand are able to move relative to one another between a position in which the welding means (15), cutting means, guiding means (12) and immobilising means (14) are arranged above the lower surface of the means forming a stabiliser (18) and a position in which the welding means (15), cutting means, guiding means (12) and immobilising means (14) are arranged below the lower surface of the means forming a stabiliser (18).
- Device (1) according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that the welding means (15), cutting means, guiding means (12) and immobilising means (14) are able to move in rotation about an axis substantially coincident with the vertical axis of symmetry of the platform.
- Device (1) according to one of claims 5 to 8, characterised in that the means forming a stabiliser (18) are able to move in rotation about an axis substantially coincident with the vertical axis of symmetry of the platform.
- Method for wrapping the side faces (2) and an upper face (3) of a palletised load using the device according to claim 1, the method comprising the steps consisting of:covering the side faces (2) of a palletised load (4) with film using film unwinding devices (7) which are able to move in relative rotation with respect to the load and can be displaced vertically,- positioning the film unwinding devices (7) above the load (4),- pulling taut a portion of the free strips (13) of film connecting the palletised load and the unwinding devices, at the end of wrapping, above the load,- immobilising the free strips (13) of film connecting the palletised load and the unwinding devices between guiding and immobilising means which comprise two pairs of guiding (12) and immobilising (14) jaws arranged on either side of the welding means (15), each free strip (13) of film connecting the palletised load and the unwinding devices, at the end of wrapping, being pulled taut between the guiding jaws (12) of the two pairs, and the immobilising jaws (14) of each pair being designed to immobilise a free strip (13) of film in contact with the respective guiding jaw, the jaws (12, 14) of each pair of jaws being able to move with respect to one another so as to form a clamp, and the immobilising (14) and guiding (12) jaws are each articulated between a first, substantially horizontal position and a second, substantially vertical position,- welding the free strip portions (13) pulled taut between them at a welding point,- cutting the free strip portions (13) arranged between the welding point and the area where the free strips of film are immobilised.
- Wrapping method according to claim 10, characterised in that it comprises a step consisting of:- stabilising the palletised load during the wrapping of its side faces, by pressing on its upper face.
