Abstract

A lighting appliance for producing light effects comprises a support (12), at least one light source (13), and a series of removable walls (15, 15', 15"), of which at least one is perforated.

Description

  • The present invention relates to a lighting appliance for producing light effects.
  • At present, lighting appliances which create light effects are only capable of producing predefined effects obtained, for example, by the use of optical details or a specific internal and external geometry of the appliance itself.
  • The main disadvantage of these technical solutions consists in the limited range of light effects which can be created and in the poor flexibility of use of these appliances. As each appliance produces a specific light effect, the user must in fact choose the exact application of the appliance at the moment of purchase.
  • Also for manufacturers, the necessity of substantially assigning a specific lighting appliance for each light effect creates numerous drawbacks such as increased production and storage costs.
  • An objective of the present invention is to provide a lighting appliance for producing light effects with a high flexibility of use.
  • A further objective of the present invention is to provide a lighting appliance for producing light effects which can be modified, in the effects produced, also when it has already been installed.
  • Another objective of the present invention is to provide a lighting appliance for producing light effects which is particularly simple and functional, with reduced costs.
  • These objectives according to the present invention are achieved by providing a lighting appliance for producing light effects as specified in claim 1.
  • Further characteristics of a lighting appliance for producing light effects are object of the dependent claims.
  • The characteristics and advantages of a lighting appliance for producing light effects according to the present invention will appear evident from the following illustrative and non-limiting description, referring to the enclosed schematic drawings in which:
    • figure 1 is a perspective view of an embodiment of a lighting appliance for producing light effects, object of the present invention;
    • figure 2 shows the appliance of figure 1, exploded;
    • figure 3 schematically shows the light effect produced by the appliance of figure 1 on a wall parallel thereto.
  • With reference to the figures, these show a lighting appliance for producing light effects indicated as a whole with 10 and comprising a support 12, at least one light source 13, an outer transparent cover 14 and a series of removable screens 15 which can be positioned inside the surface of the cover.
  • A further embodiment of the lighting appliance for producing light effects, object of the present invention, can be without the outer transparent cover 14 and having a series of removable walls 15, arranged around the light source 13, suitable perforated for creating the desired light effects.
  • The support 12 contains electric and electronic devices for the control of the appliance 10, in addition to a lamp-holder of the light source, punctiform or linear, positioned in the centre.
  • The support 12, moreover, in the example having a square surface, comprises a perimetric portion 16 for the positioning of the screens 15 and the cover 14.
  • The outer cover 14, which surmounts the support 12 and the light source 13, can have various forms, such as cubic, rectangular, semispherical, conical pyramidal, or the like. Furthermore, the cover 14, which must be transparent to allow the passage of light, can be made of glass and/or plastic material, also a diffusor, i.e. glazed or opaque.
  • The screens 15, which can be positioned inside the cover 14, when desired, can be black or coloured light-impermeable plates 15', light-permeable or diffusing screens, or perforated masks 15". The masks 15" are perforated according to decorations or pictograms which create different light effects, depending on the different representations.
  • The screens 15 can be combined as desired, for example on different sides of the cube-shaped lighting appliance 10 shown illustratively in the figures, the same or different from each other.
  • The insertion of a perforated mask 15" creates a corresponding light effect through said mask 15", whereas the insertion of black or coloured screens 15' allows the chosen sides of the cover 14 to be darkened or coloured.
  • The light effects are therefore visible on the face of the appliance 10, on the wall on which the product is installed and on the wall in front of the appliance.
  • The lighting appliance 10, shown in the figures, has a cube-shaped cover 14. Masks 15" having a series of parallel notches alternating with parallel strips of material are respectively inserted on the four side surfaces. The upper side, on the other hand, is equipped with a black plate 15'.
  • Figure 3 schematically shows the light effect produced for example by the lighting appliance 10, which is applied on a column support 19. The appliance 10 creates on a wall 17 situated in a parallel position to one of the perforated screens, or masks, 15" thereof, a series of parallel strips or spots of light 18.
  • The light effects produced by the appliance can be advantageously modified by simply changing and combining screens, an operation which can be effected at any moment, even after the installation of the product, with reduced costs.
  • The lighting appliance for producing light effects, object of the present invention, has the advantage of allowing compositions of different light effects to be created by combining various appliances.
  • Furthermore, the appliance can be advantageously installed in different ways: applied on ceilings, as appliques, on the ground by means of supporting rods or columns, on tables, and also as pegs for gardens.
  • The lighting appliance for producing light effects thus conceived can undergo numerous modifications and variations, all included in the invention; all the details, moreover, can be substituted by technically equivalent elements. In practice, the materials used, as also the dimensions can vary according to technical demands.
