Description

B. aus US 6,125,616 bekannt. The invention relates to a saddle pad according to the features of the preamble of claim 1. Such a saddle pad is z. B. off US 6,125,616 known.

Saddle pads, which are placed under saddles of riding horses, are well known. An example of such saddle pad is in the German patent DE 101 38 317 B4 the applicant has been described. This saddle pad is characterized by two side parts, which are interconnected via a web part. The side panels are provided on the side facing the mount with a lambskin or wool fleece trimming. In the web part a longitudinal groove-shaped recess is incorporated by there no such stocking is provided. Such a saddle pad is due to the groove-shaped recess not on the spine of the mount, but only on the flanks of the mount. Therefore, no pressure is exerted on the spine from above. Rather, the weight of sitting on a saddle rider is distributed over a large area on the sides of the saddle blanket on the flanks of the mount.

Another saddle pad is out WO 90/00518 known. There, the saddle pad has on its upper side facing the saddle over two pockets, in each of which wooden ball mats are inserted. These wooden ball mats should massage the back of the mount while riding.

Both known saddle pads need for optimal pressure distribution when riding the mount and stabilization of the rider Saddles, in which a so-called saddle tree is integrated. By saddle tree is meant a relatively rigid plastic or wooden frame, which is incorporated in the saddle for stabilization. About such tree-covered saddles the compressive stress is widely distributed when riding the horse.

However, the problem is so-called treeless saddles, so relatively flexible saddles that have no or almost no stability in itself. Frequently such saddles are made of leather, fabric or plastic.

Such treeless saddles require saddle pads that better distribute the compressive stress when riding the mount.

B. in DE 101 33 751 A1 beschrieben.A saddle pad in which an improved pressure distribution when riding the mount is achieved, for. In DE 101 33 751 A1 described.

In a first embodiment of the saddle pad according to DE 101 33 751 A1 , This consists of an ausschäumbaren plate-shaped shell, which assumes a solid form in the cured state. The foamable material is introduced in a foil-like, acting as a form envelope, z. B. poured, injected or the like, which is a limitation for the not yet foamed, viscous or deformable plastic material to avoid dodging the foaming material in the uncured state. When fitting this saddle pad, it is placed between the saddle and the horse's back. When placing the saddle on the horse's back the weight of the saddle and the rider is applied to the saddle pad with the not yet cured foamable material. The weight of the saddle and the rider transmits this load over the saddle pad on the horse's back. In this case, the soft, viscous or deformable, uncured plastic mass, which is located within the saddle pad, deformed according to the load exerted by the saddle and the rider, the contour of the underside of the saddle is transferred to the top of the saddle pad, while the deformable plastic compound on the underside adapts exactly to the contour of the horse's back. In the uncured state, an impression of the saddle underside and the horse's back is formed on both surfaces of the saddle pad. Subsequently, the self-curing plastic material of the saddle pad is cured, wherein said impression mold is maintained on both sides. The saddle pad thus keeps this shape permanently.

In a second embodiment of the DE 101 33 751 A1 The saddle pad consists of a plastic or foam plate, in which recesses are incorporated at certain critical points. In these recesses, the curable material is introduced. The saddle pad is then, as explained above, adapted by placing on the horse's back and placing a saddle and rider on the horse's back.

The problem with these known saddle pads is the use of a hardenable material within the saddle pad.

If, for example, the horse's musculature changes, which alone may already be caused by the aging process of a horse, a saddle pad adapted in this way may no longer be usable. Moreover, it is problematic that the Once made saddle pad is adapted only for a very specific horse.

The present invention therefore has the aim of specifying a saddle pad with which in particular a treeless saddle can be used by a rider without such a saddle pad is limited exclusively for use for a single mount.

This object is achieved by a saddle pad with the features of claim 1.

Vorteilhafte Weiterbildungen einer solchen Sattelunterlage sind Gegenstand der Unteransprüche.Advantageous developments of such a saddle pad are the subject of the dependent claims.

The essential aspect of the saddle pad according to the invention is to be seen in that the saddle pad on its upper side, that is, the saddle-facing surface, has two pockets, in each of which a plate-shaped spring device is inserted. The pockets extend over the entire length of the saddle pad or at least approximately over the entire length or at least over the entire length of the saddle provided.

The saddle pad according to the invention with its pockets and the plate-shaped spring device is used in a special way. When using this saddle pad, care must be taken that it is positioned under the saddle of a mount in such a way that the front ends of the plate-shaped spring device come to lie below the so-called "gullet" or the "fork" of the saddle. In this case, the term "gullet" and "fork" is understood to mean those parts which, at the front end of the saddle, thus face the horse's head, Embrace the back of the horse in a U-shape and position the saddle. Such a gullet is usually made of metal and determines the chamber width of the saddle. With some saddles, the gullet can be changed from the rider to adapt the saddle to different horses.

In the following figures, unless otherwise stated, like reference numerals designate like parts with the same meaning.

Fig. 1 shows in sectional view with a view from behind the trunk of a horse 1 with seated saddle pad 10. On the saddle pad 10 sits a saddle 3, preferably a treeless saddle 3, on.

The saddle pad 10 has on its underside, ie the side facing the horse 1, a padding or a trim 12 made of lambskin or woolen fleece, as this in the German patent DE 101 38 317 is described in detail. On the opposite side, so the top, the saddle pad 10 has two pockets 16 which are arranged parallel to the symmetry line A of the saddle pad 10 left and right. These pockets 16 extend over the entire length of the saddle pad 10 and preferably have on its edge facing the line of symmetry A via an opening 14. The opening 14 preferably runs parallel to the line of symmetry A of the saddle pad 10. The pockets 16 are in the illustrated embodiment respectively via two hook-and-loop fasteners 18 (cf. Fig. 3 ) releasably secured to the top of the saddle pad 10.

Both the pockets 16 and the saddle pad 10 itself may be formed from a quilt material. Other materials are also possible.

For stabilization and optimal pressure distribution with mounted saddle 3 and rider a plate-shaped spring device 20 is inserted into the pockets 16 of the opening 14 ago.

In the illustrated embodiment of the Fig. 2 . 4 and 5 this plate-shaped spring device 20 consists of three spring plates 21, 22, 23, which are summarized in the manner of a spring assembly. The individual spring plates 21, 22 and 23 consist, for example, of plastic. The lowermost spring plate 21 is the shortest in relation to the symmetry line A and the uppermost spring plate 23 the shortest. The middle spring plate 22 has a length that is shorter than the longest spring plate 21 and longer than the shortest spring plate 23. The three spring plates 21, 22, 23 but have about the same width.

The longest spring plate 21 is designed so that it completely fills the pocket 16 so that the spring pack extends over the entire length of the saddle pad 10.

By the layered arrangement of the spring plates 21, 22 and 23 in the in 4 and 5 shown manner is achieved that in the middle of the spring package, the largest spring tension is present. This largest spring tension in the middle of the spring assembly decreases to the front and rear end of the spring assembly. The spring leaves 21, 22 and 23 can be held together in a variety of ways releasably or permanently, for. B. by means of spring clips or ironing or by simple gluing.

Although in the context of the illustrated embodiment, a spring assembly is described as a plate-shaped spring means 20, it is also conceivable in principle, but not part of the invention to form this plate-shaped spring means 20 by a single spring plate. This is related to Fig. 5 indicated by the dashed line 25. It only has to be ensured that the spring plate in the middle of a larger Has thickness as at its front and rear ends. This can also be achieved by a plate of uniform thickness of composite material of different hardness / strength of the material in the course of the middle part (harder) forward and backward and laterally in the course softer.

When related to Fig. 2 is shown that the opening 14 is arranged approximately parallel to the line of symmetry A of the saddle pad 10, it is in principle also possible to arrange this opening 14 is not parallel to the symmetry line A, but perpendicular to this, z. B. at the rear or front edge of the bag 16. In this case, however, it must be ensured that the opening after insertion of the plate-shaped spring means 20 can be closed, for. B. by push buttons, a hook and loop fastener or the like, so that the spring device 20 can not accidentally slip out of the pocket 16.

The pockets 16 shown in the figures are releasably secured by means of the Velcro fasteners 18 on the saddle pad 10. The pockets 16 thus sit on the saddle pad 10 as separate parts.

In another embodiment of the invention, the pockets 16 may also be incorporated in the saddle pad 10 itself, similar to the arrangement as described in the introduction WO 90/00518 is shown.

In connection with Fig. 6 the use of the saddle pad 10 according to the invention becomes clear. The saddle pad 10 with the discussed pockets 16 rests on the back of the mount 1. On this saddle pad 10 sits the saddle 3. The saddle 3 has facing the horse's head Side a so-called gullet iron 5, which is U-shaped above the shoulder muscle of the horse 1. The saddle pad 10 with its pockets 16 and the plate-shaped spring device 20 inserted therein is pushed under the saddle 3 so that the spring device 20 projects with its front end securely under the gullet iron 5. This ensures that the gullet iron 5 can be supported on the spring device 20 and the gullet iron 5 does not press uncomfortably on the musculature of the horse 1.
