Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a doctor bed, designed as a profiled strip with a continuous groove in the axial direction for receiving a rotary metering rod which can be pressed against a running surface and metered onto the running surface liquid to pasty medium and / or leveled, the current surface at direct order of the medium is one side of a paper, cardboard or other fibrous web and, in the case of indirect application, is the surface of a transfer element which transfers the medium to the fibrous web.
Üblicherweise wird das Rakelbett über innere Kanäle oder Profilkammern mit Wasser unter entsprechendem Druck beaufschlagt, so dass derDoctor beds are used for the storage and support of circular cylindrical doctor bars, which are used for dosing and / or leveling a liquid applied to a running surface liquid to pasty medium within so-called coating machines. The doctor bars are usually made of a homogeneous material. In this case, very long and slender cylindrical doctor bars are to be supported at low to high speeds, while these apply the coating material as evenly as possible, strip or only distribute. The use of such doctor bars is susceptible to wear. The replacement of the very expensive rods is then associated with labor and operation failure. Also, the squeegee beds are to be renewed regularly due to wear. The stability of the doctor bed is thus limited, which is to press the rod over its entire length with high precision and uniformity. For this, the doctor bed requires an inherent elasticity and at the same time the best possible lubricity and abrasion resistance. Usually, the doctor bed is acted upon by inner channels or profile chambers with water under a corresponding pressure, so that the
Rakelstab eine schwimmende Lagerung im Rakelbett erhält. Insbesondere moderne, mit einer Profilierung versehene Rakelstäbe, die eine bessere Auftragsdosierung schaffen, nutzen die Rakelbetten in Bereichen mit hohem Abstützungsdruck besonders ab.Doctor blade receives a floating storage in the doctor bed. In particular, modern profiled doctoring rods that provide better application dosage utilize the doctor beds particularly in areas of high support pressure.
From DE 101 20 786 A1 a doctor bed for pressing a rotating doctor bar against a roll is known, such as an applicator roll or coating roll in paper machines, wherein the doctor bed is designed as a profile strip which supports the doctor bar elastically in the pressing direction. The doctor bed is made of an elastomeric polyurethane material blended with at least 3 percent by weight ultra high molecular weight polyethylene. The addition of an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene should be achieved in terms of lubricity and abrasion resistance longer life.
Furthermore, DE 43 34 555 A1 describes a holder for a doctor bar, which has a doctor bed holding the doctor bar which is movably mounted in a holder open on one side in the direction of the holder opening. Between the holder and the doctor bed an elastic, in the direction of the holder opening oppressive pressure hose is arranged. In order to be able to set a gap which is precise in its width and uniform over the working width between the doctor bar and a roller, a further pressure hose which presses in the opposite direction is provided. By the respective admission of the pressure hoses, the cross profile should be adjusted independently of the contact pressure with a finely adjustable profiling.
In der US 6,019,846 A ist ein Rakelbett beschrieben, welches radiale Längsstreifen aus nichtmetallischem Material zwischen Rakelbett und Rakelstab aufweist.US Pat. No. 6,019,846 A describes a doctor bed which has radial longitudinal strips of non-metallic material between the doctor bed and the doctor bar.
This solution is very complex and can not convince in terms of lubricity and wear resistance.
In the proposed solutions, however, occur over the entire length of a doctor device zonar different signs of wear or make with respect to the contact pressure while controllable, but technically very complex solutions.
Furthermore, problems with unequal loading can thereby result result in increased wear due to partial deformation, for example in the edge region of the paper web, due to insufficient lubrication, fiber deposits from the paper web edge, unfavorable friction conditions in the transition from coating material to edge moistening or partial dry running.
The invention has the object of developing a doctor bed so that it has a uniform wear behavior over its entire length.
This object is achieved by a doctor bed according to
According to the invention, a doctor bed is provided, formed as a profiled strip with a continuous groove in the axial direction for supporting a metering rod in the pressing direction, wherein the doctor bed is formed in sections in the axial direction by at least one insert part, which is dimensionally stable in relation to the rest of the material.
The invention proposes a relatively short component which is inserted in each case in the critical region and thereby preserves the inherent elasticity of the entire doctor device required for operation.
By means of the corresponding inherent elasticity, a doctor blade arranged in the groove is flexibly supported in the direction of pressure, ie in the direction of the running substrate to be coated, for example an applicator roll of a coating machine. An insert part or several insert parts are integrated along the axial direction in the doctor bed and in particular arranged at locations where particularly high wear occurs in conventional doctor beds. A particular advantage is the low abrasion or wear achieved by the solution according to the invention and a low coefficient of friction of the materials used, which lead to an increased service life of the doctor bed.
There may be several critical zones with increased wear. A particular advantage of the invention results from the use of matched in wear behavior materials, such as rubber-elastic materials as base material in conjunction with correspondingly form and abrasion resistant inserts. Thus, the doctor bed over its entire length on wear uniform wear on. For an insert - also known as an insert - are low-matching heat-resistant, dimensionally stable, abrasion-resistant and low-friction materials into consideration.
An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that several inserts are located in the axial direction in the outdoor area. But it is also possible that only one insert is preferably arranged in the middle and / or arranged in the middle. Partially so an insert is placed in a critical area to compensate for a partial deformation, for example, in the edge region of a paper web, due to insufficient lubrication, fiber deposits or unfavorable friction conditions. As a result, the above-mentioned problems resulting from an uneven load are resolved.
The transitions of the individual material combinations, which can have greatly differing mechanical properties in the base material of the doctor bed and in an insert part, also play a special role. In a preferred embodiment, a homogeneous transition of the materials used for an insert part and the rest of the profile strip is formed by the component geometry of the respective insert part. As a result, a homogeneous and soft transition of different materials can be created.
Advantageously, the common contact surfaces of the respective insert part are arranged with the surrounding material substantially at an angle of 45 ° -90 °, preferably below 70 ° -90 °, with respect to the axial direction. This arrangement results in a more harmonious transition of the different ones Materials. Essentially, in this context means that for geometric reasons in the structural design of the inserts, of course, other surface orientations may occur. However, these orientations should have a minor influence on the elasticity of the doctor bed and in particular on the way of a smooth transition of the introduction of force on a metering rod.
When applying a liquid or pasty medium, be ispielsweise on a moving web of paper or cardboard, considerable temperatures can occur, which can affect the functioning of doctor blades devices. In a preferred embodiment, the respective insert part is heat-resistant for this purpose.
For example, in roll doctor devices, the doctor beds take over the guiding and supporting function for the rotatably mounted metering rods. These should be guided by material that is as slippery as possible, but which should fulfill further requirements with regard to a sufficiently long service life of the device. In a preferred embodiment, the respective insert part is wear-resistant for this purpose.
Advantageously, the respective insert is made of thermoplastic. Particularly advantageous is an insert made of polyethylene (PE) or high-strength polyetheretherketone (PEEK) by a correspondingly high toughness of the materials. As a result, a homogeneous transition over the entire length of the doctor bed is already created by the material selection for the rest of the base material with respect to the elasticity of the doctor bed. However, the thermoplastic is preferably selected so that it remains more rigid when heated than the base material.
Alternatively, advantageously, the respective insert made of polymers, for example polyurethane (PU) or polyamide (PA). For this purpose, in particular the elastomer such as polyurethane (PU), since it is in terms of its mechanical properties can be rubber-elastic to hard and abrasion resistant. Polyamide (PA), in contrast to its abrasion resistance, is comparatively hard.
Alternatively, advantageously, the respective insert part consist of a composite material. In particular, advantageously, the insert can be constructed of a composite material of rubber and graphite.
Alternatively, advantageously, the respective insert made of ceramic. As a result, a particularly form-and wear-resistant insert is created in the doctor bed.
Alternatively, advantageously, the respective insert made of metal. Metals made of a copper alloy, for example bronze, are particularly suitable for this purpose. Bronze as a material is also particularly resistant to corrosion.
In a preferred embodiment, the respective insert part is positively, glued, screwed, riveted, pressed, cast or welded. Depending on the application, the respectively favorable joining method can be selected with regard to the mechanical stress of the doctor bed during operation.
Further advantages, features and expedient developments of the invention will become apparent from the other dependent claims or their sub-combinations.
