Abstract

The device comprises a U-shaped holding device (3) with three limbs, namely a base limb (a), a joining limb (b) and a supporting limb (c) of different dimensions. A wall covering is fixed by means of joining elements (5) or track elements to the front side of the supporting limb (c) in an manner that enables the wall covering to be displaced, and the base limb (a) is mounted on a supporting element (e.g. a wall) by means of connecting elements (6) or track elements of the device in a manner that enables the base limb to be displaced. The corners of the device can be provided with rotating axes whereby permitting a space-saving displacement of the covering. For heavy or large coverings, a number of devices can be coupled to one another by connecting elements. The direction of motion of the device can be freely selected (360°) according to assembly and can be controlled mechanically or in an electronic-hydraulic manner by installing micro-electrical units, if desired, by remote control.

Description

The present invention relates to a device with which a flat object attached to the wall, such as an electronic flat screen or image, can be concealed or deliberately emphasized.

High-resolution flat screens, so-called flat screens, for displaying electronically stored information of all kinds in publicly accessible locations, in offices, railway stations, airports, museums or in business premises as well as in private premises are widely used today. The spread of such flat screens is rapidly increasing. Such flat screens provide good image quality, they are lightweight and can be easily attached to a wall or other supporting device.

In a sales or exhibition space such as a gallery or museum, etc. with high customer or visitor volume, such flat screens provide more meaningful and up-to-date information and a more lasting impression than printed informational materials. Still images, video clips or computer animations also enable dynamic marketing and visual messages, which are far superior to a mere presentation of printed matter.

The large, clear and bright images and the wide viewing angle of flat screens ensure optimal readability and visibility. In conferences or meetings, the monitors give every presentation a professional touch. A flat screen can also be connected to almost any modern audiovisual device within a few seconds - from the notebook to the DVD player. In addition, videoconferencing using such monitors can be more vivid, personal and productive. They offer versatile connectivity, useful control functions and a convenient, even wireless remote control.

These high-resolution monitors usually have a standard aspect ratio of 16: 9, with the screen diagonal varying, for example from 82 cm to 127 cm. Such flat monitors can be either in landscape orientation or portrait orientation on the wall be hanged or placed at any other location. The format of these screens is not defined in principle. Custom-made products can have sizes of several square meters. Commercially available, normal models have similar formats as painted oil paintings, graphics, maps, etc.

A big advantage of flat screens lies in its flat design. Today's flat screens are no wider than 5-7 cm. Due to their flat design, they can be easily mounted on the wall or other load-bearing objects to save volume.

However, a problem related to the use of the monitors has so far been solved lightly. There are situations in which the electronic messages on the flat screens should not be shown. There are time and again periods during which the electronic screen is not used, is switched off or has a disturbing effect. Flat-panel displays, which are increasingly being used in a gallery or in museums for multimedia purposes, are often distracting when not in use alongside oil paintings or other works of art. In public places like train stations, airports, hotels or shops it happens regularly that flat screens are not used for a certain time. In these "dead times" these screens often interfere and do not fit into the overall picture or not to the atmospheric situation. Flat screens take their place on the wall even in these unused periods and are usually not removed. This wall surface is thus unused broke. Especially in public places, this unused area costs money, which is uneconomical and not efficient. 1 A flexible use of the wall surface is not possible. The space available on public walls, in galleries and museums as well as on private living room walls are often limited or deliberately should not seem overloaded. A flat screen or rather generally a wall covering such. A mural, painting, photo, poster or wall hanging made of different materials such as fabric, paper, glass, wood, plastic, stone takes up a certain surface, which could be used by other wall coverings and is therefore always in competition with alternative suspensions and wall coverings.

Out US 5,797,666 is a piece of furniture known that allows automatic sinking a arranged on the furniture monitor. For this purpose, the document describes a motor-driven lifting mechanism, as the monitor can either be out of the piece of furniture or moved back into the piece of furniture.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a device for concealing or highlighting an object such as a flat screen, which can be used as needed, appropriate to the situation and flexible.

This object is solved by the subject matter of claim 1. Preferred embodiments are the subject of the dependent claims.

The present invention is based, in particular, on the idea that although flat screens usually have an attractive design, due to their fixed attachment to a wall after a long time, however, they are distracting and, in particular, can not contribute to a high-quality room decoration in the long run.

The present invention therefore proposes a technical solution with which such a flat screen is made to disappear as needed from the viewer's point of view, namely by an electrically displaceable cover from a position in which it is not covered the flat screen is placed in a position in which Flat screen is completely obscured by the cover.

According to a preferred embodiment, the relative movement required for this purpose can also be achieved by moving the flat screen relative to the cover, i. H. by the flat screen is caused by electrical displacement from the area of a fixed cover.

According to a preferred embodiment, the flat-panel display used on the manufacturer already has devices which serve for fastening and for displaceability of the cover. In particular, the flat screen for this purpose may already have preassembled rails, which are preferably incorporated complacent in the design of the flat screen, so that such parts in the state in which the flat screen is visible, are not bothersome. Flat panel displays have such additional devices that allow later attachment of the required construction for moving the cover, have a particularly simple structure in their overall design, since less additional parts must be installed and the basic supporting construction has already been connected to the manufacturer side with the flat screen.

The mural may be a painting, prints, etc. Especially through the use of murals to cover a flat screen results in a particularly aesthetic spatial effect and it is perfectly possible the desired integration of the flat screen in an interior with high decorative value. Depending on the type of aesthetic creation shown on the cover, it can have an additional aesthetic effect in the state where the flat screen can be viewed by the viewer, so that the objects that can then be seen together complement each other in a decorative manner. For example, a shift of the cover down in the viewer can lead to the impression that the cover as it forms the base for the flat screen whereby the aesthetic effect of the flat screen itself is even increased.

According to a preferred embodiment, the construction which allows the relative displacement of the image with respect to the flat screen allows the wall cover to be displaced in different directions, preferably in four mutually orthogonal directions, for maximum flexibility in the displacement of the cover. In particular, by the cover can be moved in each case in an area that is currently still free or on which the wall cover with the decoration, such as an oil painting, works particularly well or it can cover an object again.

The construction allows displacement by means of an electric motor. When using an electronic solution, the desired displacement can be achieved by means of a remote control or by means of switches on the wall.

Such a solution also means that a displacement profile can be preset, so that depending on the user of the room different shifts must be set and thus a flat screen can be viewed or hidden. In the event that several such flat screens or other objects are to be covered, the desired cover pattern can be set according to the person and accordingly changed or retrieved at the touch of a button.

From a mechanical point of view, the displacement can be achieved by a rigid construction, such as rails in which the cover is moved. However, filigree solutions are also suitable, such as rope constructions in which the cover can be moved almost invisibly. This leads the viewer to a particularly interesting impression, since the cover almost like a "ghost hand" is moved. Preferably, the rope construction is constructed of transparent threads of silk or plastic, so that this construction is almost invisible to the naked eye. However, metal cables can be used deliberately to achieve a particularly technical impression here.

For installation of a flat screen in such a solution this is preferably provided by the manufacturer already with appropriate additional equipment, in particular for attachment to a telescopic pole or other support, which causes the Relatiwerschiebung.

According to a further preferred embodiment, the flat screen is already installed in a wall, d. H. he is inserted into a depression of the wall. Preferably, the flat screen in this solution does not protrude beyond the plane defined by the wall. Such a solution allows particularly elegant constructions, with which the cover is brought over the flat screen, since then the cover can be guided directly over the surface of the wall. In the case of the cover being an image, after moving the image over the flat screen, the viewer has the impression that a perfectly normal image is actually hanging on the wall. In such a construction, the bracket carrying the cover and allowing the cover to be moved electrically across the flat panel is secured to the wall and not to the flat screen. Of course, constructions are conceivable in which the holder is connected to the flat screen, however, the attachment to the wall in this case, unlike the above solutions, preferred. In such a solution, therefore, the overall construction consists of the flat screen, a wall into which the flat screen is sunk and a holder which is fixed to the wall and the cover carries and has suitable devices, a method of covering the flat screen and from the Scope of the flat screen enabled.

According to one application, the cover of the invention is used to selectively release or cover a painting or other decorative device. According to a particularly preferred embodiment, this is again a painting, so that a first painting can optionally cover a second, different painting. Such an application is particularly interesting for galleries, which have only a limited suspension area and with the help of the present invention now have the opportunity to exhibit To double pieces. The observer can optionally view one or the other image with a suitable control device, which in turn can be a remote control. In this case, an image is preferably fixedly connected to the wall and the other is optionally placed in a position in which it obscures or releases this image. According to a preferred embodiment, a plurality of such paintings are arranged in a layered manner, so that several paintings can optionally obscure a painting firmly attached to the wall, whereby the exhibition area can not only be duplicated, but can be multiplied as desired.

In the process, those paintings that have just not entered the field of vision, d. H. are in their "resting position", behind a firmly attached to the ground cover, z. B. a wall, completely disappear. The viewer does not see that there are more images available that can be moved into a position of the currently viewed image. This further firmly connected to the ground cover can also be designed in the form of a container in which the images not shown disappear, thereby also a protective function is achieved and according to a preferred embodiment, even a vault effect can be achieved by the images not shown completely encapsulated.

In FIG. 1 the device is shown in the form of a U-shaped bracket 3 of a base leg a, a connecting leg b and a support leg c per se, without a wall cladding attached to the front side c and without the wall resting on the base leg or stable device. The device includes as an essential feature this holder in a U-shape with the three legs a, b and c a. The aspect ratios of the three legs a, b and c can be freely selected depending on the given size ratios of the object to be covered and the wall cladding. In addition, the mounting units 5 are shown on the front side of the support leg c and 6 on the base leg a of the holder. These mounting units form the connecting elements between the wall and the bracket and between the bracket and the panel. However, it is not absolutely necessary that the holder is U-shaped. Depending on the circumstances, the holder can also be designed frame-like, L-shaped or otherwise. An L-shaped variant is suitable, for example, when the sliding wall panel itself has a strong frame. In this case, the one short leg of the L-shaped bracket may be attached to one side of the frame so that it is perpendicular to the wall, and the other leg is then slidably mounted to the wall. The main purpose of the holder is that it can hold the sliding cover safely while allowing the lateral displacement of the same. For this displacement may be mounted on wheels or rollers rail elements ( Fig. 1 a) or slide rail elements ( Fig. 1b . 7 ) or also sliding telescopic elements. It is important that the holder is movably mounted and guaranteed to move both the base leg a as well as the support leg c.

In FIG. 2a the device is shown with the U-shaped holder 3 from above, where it carries on the front side of the support leg c by means of the mounting units 5 a wall panel 2 and is mounted on the back of the base leg a by means of mounting units 6 to a wall 1. The device hides here with her mural a flat screen 4, which is fixed via connecting element 7 and mounting device 8 on the wall 1. By means of the movably mounted holder 3 of the device, such a covered object as, for example, a flat screen 4 can be exposed. In FIG. 2b the same device is shown from the side. In addition, it is appropriate For very heavy or large mural the device and its holder 3 by additional struts, which may be connected by connecting elements 15 to reinforce. In Fig. 2b this is indicated by dashed lines. The basic mechanism does not change. Instead of moving a picture in front of a flatscreen or pushing it away to expose it, the flat screen itself can be mounted on the other side.

In FIG. 3a the device is shown from the front, where it carries a cladding (eg a picture), which covers a flat screen. By lateral displacement of the movably mounted holder of the device and the covering of the hidden object is made visible and usable. FIG. 3b shows a snapshot during the release of the concealed flat screen. Figure 3c shows the completely exposed object. The holder of the device has been moved laterally horizontally in this figure. In principle, however, other directions of movement are possible. The device is by no means limited only to the horizontal direction of movement to the left or right. Just as well, the device can be mounted so that a vertical movement of its holder up or down is possible. Other directions of movement are conceivable; In principle, any direction of movement of the circle (360 °) can be realized by the corresponding assembly.

In the FIG. 3 shown movement of the holder of the device for exposure respectively. To cover an object can be done either completely mechanically or electronically controlled. The device can be equipped with corresponding miniaturized electric motors, which guarantee a slow reciprocating movement including limit switch. Such a motor can be connected directly to the device and its holder 3 or integrated into the mounting units 5, 13 and 6, 14.

Also, a hydraulic drive of the device is possible. An electric motor then generates the necessary hydrostatic pressure, either instantaneously when needed or by charging a hydraulic accumulator. The movement of the holder is then generated by a hydraulic cylinder-piston unit. Such a device is conceivable especially for heavier and larger panels. The automatic controls can additionally be equipped with a remote control unit, which allows easy control of the device by pressing a button.

In FIG. 4a is the U-shaped bracket 3 of the device shown from above, where it carries here on the front side c a wall panel 2 and is mounted on the base side a to a wall 1 or to a rail. The device conceals a fixed to the wall 1 flat screen 4. By the movably mounted holder of the device, such a hidden object such as a flatscreen can be highlighted. FIG. 4b shows the device seen from above, after their support and the panel mounted thereon by sliding sideways the underlying object, here a flat screen, have released.

It is clear that the device and its holder 3 can also be realized in other embodiments. For example, for applications in which the most space-saving solution is required, the U-shaped bracket by means of at the corners between the legs a and b respectively b and c integrated rotary axes (hinges 9,10) are designed to be flexible and movable. In FIG. 5a is such a holder 3 with integrated hinges 9,10 shown from above, the device with its holder carries a panel that covers a flatscreen. In the FIG. 5b the device or its holder 3 has been moved by the integrated hinges together with the panel very space-saving on the page. The movable axes (9,10) can be controlled by means of integrated electric motors in the desired positions, if necessary. The pivoting range of the movable axes (9,10) can be adjusted with optoelectronic or mechanical Endabschaltern to rotations of any rotation. Due to this flexibility, the panel comes as close as possible to the wall 1 behind it. It is possible to equip the hinges with electric motors, whereby these movements can be performed automatically by remote control.

In FIG. 6 2 U-shaped, flexibly mounted and movable mounts of devices are shown from above. Both devices are mounted independently of each other, in this example, the holder 3 1 of a device to the right and the holder 3 2 of the other device can be moved to the left. Both devices are each equipped with a movably mounted panel 2 1 and 2 2 , which cover a common flat screen 4. The figure illustrates that the device can be used very flexibly for several panels in succession by individual geometries of the legs a, b and c.

The device and its holder 3 is installed by first connecting the mounting units 6, 14 to the wall 1 and the holder 3. This is easier possible when the object to be covered is removed. Normally, the mounting units 6, 14 are behind this object and are not visible from the front. The image 2 is connected by means of the mounting units 5,13 with the holder 3 of the device. Depending on the nature of the mural and its back, the contact points between this and the mounting units 5.13 may be of different design. If necessary, additional electronic or hydraulic components can be installed on the device so that they are also located behind the object to be covered. Then, the flat object such as a flat panel 4 is mounted again. The device now makes it possible to automatically cover the object 4 with a corresponding cladding matching in size with respect to the object 4 to be concealed or to emphasize the other way round. Due to the U-shaped geometry of the holder 3 of the device, this is behind the object 4 and the panel 2 and is not visible to the viewer, neither in the hidden or highlighted state of the (flat) object 4th

Thanks to this device, it is possible to use flat objects such as e.g. to highlight or hide a flat screen situation. Most flat screens are not in use around the clock, but only at certain time periods. During the idle time, the device may obscure the flat panel display with a suitably selected trim. This can give a room, room, hall, office, etc. a completely different appearance resp. gives a different dynamic and theme, as if the flat screen on the wall hangs unseen per se. Conversely, if necessary, the screen can be brought out very flexibly and used appropriately. This highlighting may well include a surprise effect and be used accordingly. The used wall surface is virtually multiplied by the device by flat panel 4 and 2 mural claim the same surface, but this situationally, can be used flexibly.

It is clear that this device leaves many technical design options open. The device can vary in length, width, depth and geometry of each Pages as well as in the choice of material are varied. The device or its holder 3 can be equipped with various movable axes (hinges 9, 10. In addition, very different connecting pieces 5, 6, 13, 14 are conceivable, which may additionally be equipped with electronic or hydraulic components in order to ensure automatic movement of the To allow device and the panel.

  1. Device for selectively covering and exposing a flat screen (4), consisting of a flat screen, a holder and a cover (2) receiving a wall picture, wherein the flat screen can be attached to a wall (1) by means of a mounting device (8) and connection elements (7), and the holder (3) likewise can be attached to the wall by means of connection elements (6) but is movably mounted,
wherein the holder carries an electric motor, by means of which movement of the holder relative to the wall is enabled, and wherein the holder is frame-shaped and carries the cover (2) carrying the wall picture,
wherein the electric motor enables movement of the holder (3), which causes displacement of the wall picture in a plane parallel to the wall (1), wherein this displacement plane is at a greater distance from the wall (1) than the plane of the flat screen (4), and therefore, by means of the resulting displacement of the wall picture, the flat screen can be selectively covered or exposed according to the state of displacement.
  2. Device according to claim 1, wherein the construction for enabling the relative movement basically consists of a cable construction.
  3. Device according to either claim 1 or claim 2, characterised in that the construction for enabling the relative movement basically consists of a frame (3) connected to the wall (1), which frame allows the displacement of at least one of the two objects relative to the other object.
  4. Device according to claim 1, characterised in that the flat screen already comprises construction elements as provided by the manufacturer.
  5. Device according to claim 4, characterised in that the construction for bringing about the relative movement between the cover and the flat screen is carried by the flat screen and only the flat screen is connected to the wall.
  6. Device according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the relative movement leads to one object being completely covered by the other object, and alternatively leads to the previously covered object being completely exposed.
  7. Device according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the relative movement is possible in a plurality of directions.
  8. Device according to claim 1, characterised in that the holder (3) is U-shaped and consists of a base leg (a), a connection leg (b) and a carrier leg (c), wherein a wall cladding (2) can be movably mounted on the front face of the carrier leg (c), and the rear face of the base leg (a) can be displaceably fixed to an element which carries objects, such as a wall (1), in the leg direction of the U-shaped holder (3).
  9. Device according to claim 8, characterised in that the cladding which can be mounted on the front face of the carrier leg (c) is movably mounted thereon by mechanically or electronically controllable connection elements (5) which are capable of being motor-driven.
  10. Device according to claim 8, characterised in that the cladding (2) which can be mounted on the front face of the carrier leg (c) is movably mounted thereon by mechanically or electronically controllable slide elements, roller rail elements or telescopic elements (13) which are capable of being motor-driven.
  11. Device according to claim 8, characterised in that the base leg (a) of the U-shaped holder (3) can be movably fixed to an element which carries objects statically, such as a wall (1), by means of mechanically or electronically controllable connection elements (6) which are capable of being motor-driven.
  12. Device according to any of claims 8 to 11, characterised in that the holder (3) of the device includes movable pivot joints in the form of hinges (9, 10).
  13. Device according to any of claims 8 to 12, characterised in that the movable pivot joints (9, 10) are, if necessary, controllable by means of integrated electric motors so as to move into the desired positions, and in that the pivot region of the movable pivot joints (9, 10) can be adjusted by optoelectronic or mechanical limit switches to rotations having any degree of rotation.
  14. Device according to any of claims 8 to 13, characterised in that the device (3) includes connection elements (15) by means of which a plurality of identical devices can be interconnected in such a way that cladding made of heavy materials can also be used.
