Abstract

The invention relates to water-soluble salt cores for die casting, said salt cores being produced by compressing, and then sintering, a mixture of water-soluble salts. According to the invention, there are between 4 and 5 parts by weight of borax, between 2 and 3 parts by weight of magnesium, and between 0.5 and 2 parts by weight of graphite or talc, in the mixture, for 100 parts by weight of salt. The compression is carried out under a pressure of between 300 and 900 N/mm2.

Description

Beschreibungdescription
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft wasserlösliche Salzkerne für den Druckguss mit den Merkmalen des Oberbegriffs des Anspruchs 1.The present invention relates to water-soluble salt cores for die casting with the features of the preamble of claim 1.
Es besteht daher ein Bedarf an umweltfreundlichen, z.B. auf Salz beruhenden Kernen für das Druckguss- verfahrenSuch salt cores for foundry purposes, which are washed out after the casting of parts, have long been known, as have attempts to optimize them by adding additives. It was found in DE-C-14 83 641 that the addition of up to 10% borax, magnesium oxide or talc improves the resilience of salt cores made of NaCl and / or KC1. DE-A-19 34 787 proposes the addition of a synthetic resin binder and water glass to avoid pressing and sintering. These additions are also known from US-A-37 64 575. Such salt cores were used in the past for permanent mold casting. These salt cores could not withstand die casting. Instead, sand cores have been used here for decades, most of which are made with binders containing phenol and furan. Since this technology is based on the processing of environmentally harmful substances, it is classified as critical and requires considerable, costly protective measures. There is therefore a need for environmentally friendly, e.g. salt-based cores for the die casting process
The object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing a salt core for die casting which produces salt cores which meet the requirements of die casting and which are produced from components which do not contain any environmentally harmful components.
This object is achieved with the features mentioned in claim 1. According to the invention are water-soluble salt cores for die casting, which are produced by compressing a mixture of water-soluble salts under pressure and then sintering 0.5 to 2 parts by weight of graphite or talc come, characterized in that the compression takes place under a pressure of between 300 and 900 N / mm 2 . Surprisingly, it has been found that such a mixture, which is known per se, develops inherent shafts due to the very high pressing pressure which make it suitable for die casting. The pressed salt cores are sintered at 650 - 730 ° C between 1 / 2h and 2h.
A method according to the invention for producing water-soluble salt cores is characterized by the steps:
- Bereitstellen einer Mischung aus 100 Gewichtsteile Salz, zwischen 4 und 5 Gewichtsteile Borax, zwischen 2 und 3 Gewichtsteile Magnesium und 0,5 bis 2 Gewichtsanteile Graphit oder Talkum,Provision of a mixture of 100 parts by weight of salt, between 4 and 5 parts by weight of borax, between 2 and 3 parts by weight of magnesium and 0.5 to 2 parts by weight of graphite or talc,
- Verdichtung der Mischung in einer Presse unter einem Druck von zwischen 300 und 900 N/mm2,Compression of the mixture in a press under a pressure of between 300 and 900 N / mm 2 ,
- Sintern der gepressten Salzkerne bei 650 - 730° C zwischen '/_. Std. und 2 Std.- Sintering the pressed salt cores at 650 - 730 ° C between '/ _. Hours and 2 hours
In the following, the invention is illustrated in more detail purely by way of example using recipes.
