Definitions
- the invention relates generally to traffic data collection systems. Specifically, the invention relates to the methods used in such systems for the evaluation of collected traffic data, in particular for the collection of tolls.
- Vehicle autonomous toll collection systems are increasingly being used. Due to the financial background, the requirements for precision for reliably avoiding bad bookings are of particular importance for such systems. Therefore, precautionary measures must be taken in the evaluation of incoming data in order to detect irregularities - for example caused by technical disturbances in the transmission path - quickly and reliably.
- Modern evaluation methods are therefore based on modeling data, which are used as a reference for the plausibility check of the currently collected data. As modeling data, node-edge models of the traffic route network are usually used. The efficiency of such toll collection systems is thus crucially dependent on the quality of the modeling data. For previous methods, the modeling data with measurement errors are collected and quality assured. This procedure is relatively complex, offers no time resolution and has a low statistical significance.
- the present invention has for its object to develop a method for traffic data acquisition, which overcomes the known disadvantages and has other advantages and is particularly suitable for autonomous toll collection systems. This object is achieved by the method for detecting traffic data with the features of claim 1. Further details and advantageous embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
- journeys traveled by motor vehicles are compiled on the basis of transmitted data from individual parts of predetermined motorway sections of a traffic network model. Corrections are made on plausibility considerations (coherent route, no double motorway sections, completion of missing pieces, logical time sequence, etc.). By taking place at predetermined time intervals statistical analysis of the data collected error sources are detected in the traffic data collection system. This allows timely quality monitoring of the entire system.
- the information about the motorway sections (“motorway section”) and the node (“node”) can be used to determine the "FromNach” relation.
- the updating of the data model is carried out by updating the basic data.
- the individual road sections raised to a vehicle may be denoted by i, j, k. If, following the relation "node", the highway section j can follow immediately after i, the next survey j with k can be considered.
- the data constellation is also considered correct if the highway section j is allowed to follow the motorway section i immediately following the relation "node optimization" and i carries an exit identifier and j carries an entry identifier.
- the potential event (gaps with input / exit identifier) before an entry in the event table does not cross checked against any manual entry to become. This analysis must also be carried out for survey data with the value 0 € (vehicle with vehicle unit has been manually checked in).
- Event lists are preferably generated for more analysis with more universal tools, including other cuts are used to amplify signals of interest and to set them apart from the background (noise).
- the duration of the program is sufficient as the observation period, but it is also possible to choose any period of observation (for example, hourly or daily) (see section 4.3).
- the survey data are provided by the EDP in the form of summary data pots (SDT). These are first to be broken down into individual surveys. Care must be taken to ensure that information about the sum data pot as well as the position in the sum data pot is not lost. The original data can then be discarded.
- SDT summary data pots
- Events with local signatures can be displayed in the format shown in Table 1 plus the "Signature” column and stored in individual case lists. For events with non-local signatures, however, specific data formats (which must also contain the "Signature” column) must be defined.
- the fields of stored events are also referred to as event variables.
- the plausibility of survey data is initially checked locally.
- the data fields contained in the survey data are to be tested against a range of values.
- the range of values results from this model.
- upper and lower bounds or a discrete set should be specified as hard cuts .
- the attribute "safe” is used in the sense of "unique”. Thus, for example, even with signatures of length 2 (see FIG. 2) gaps can be recognized, although here it is not certain that exactly one section was not or was raised incorrectly.
- the data stream contains three sections p, q and r that do not form a contiguous path. There is no need for another hard cut parameter.
- Figure 3 shows some non-local 4-length signatures without considering the entrance and exit identifiers. It is clear that due to the strong combinatorial dependence on length, the number of cases to be considered increases strongly. The relatively low profits of the information discernible by these signatures, at the present time, do not appear to make the effort associated with recognition as proportionate. All basic functions of the survey can be checked quantitatively and qualitatively well with the signatures shown in FIG. 1 and FIG.
- the events of the individual signatures are to be statistically evaluated according to the invention. This is done technically by classifying and counting events (absolute frequency) and normalizing to a corresponding population to obtain relative frequencies. In this case, for independent events, the error (the standard deviation) of the absolute frequency by the root is to be given (estimated) from this frequency. This means that the true value of the underlying random variable is 67% probability in the interval N ⁇ ⁇ N. The relative error of a measurand therefore falls with 1 / ⁇ N.
- a (one-dimensional) histogram is a set of counters (channels) in which the frequency of occurrence of a value of an event variable is recorded.
- a channel is also called bin , the assignment of value ranges of the histogrammed variables to the channels is called binning.
- the histogram should always be kept on the number of individual surveys per STD.
- two- or multi-dimensional histograms result.
- a two-dimensional histogram would be the number of bumps above the EHK ID and over the leg.
- Multidimensional histograms can be reduced in their dimensionality by means of projections (adding all entries over a dimension to be eliminated). By increasing the absolute number of events, the relative error per bin is reduced.
- All statistically collected data should preferably be issued in the form of database tables regularly (ie once per observation period), ie made available to subsequent programs. After a period of observation, all counter contents are to be deleted. Counters should not be persistent, ie they are initialized to zero at program start. For each output, a header table is to be output, which contains the period of observation as well as the values used for signature detection hardcuts and possibly further options and parameters that are important for the interpretation of the data.
- event lists contain, among other things, data describing individual events (see Section 3). These lists can serve as data base for further analysis tools (data warehouses, etc.).
- Filter conditions are thus general logical expressions that are evaluated by accessing the data fields of an event. To allow the user to formulate their own filter conditions, a parser for these expressions can be implemented. However, this is not absolutely necessary if filter conditions are first anchored in the program code.
- each filter In an expanded embodiment of the method according to the invention, several filters can be operated simultaneously. In this case, each filter generates its own output list, in which data can be contained redundantly.
- Kirchhoff's rules Freedom from sources here means that the observed objects can not spontaneously arise from a source or disappear in a sink.
- a source-free flow can be assumed, and thus divergences in the flow can be regarded as an indication of error effects).
- Kirchhoff's rule in the present case is that the sum of all flows at a node must be zero.
- the survey efficiency is the quotient of sections correctly identified as individual surveys and the number of sections of the actual vehicle on the actual journey. For a majority of the sections from the topological signatures of length 3 depicted in Section 3.2, using the absolute frequencies shown in Section 4.1, this collection efficiency thus defined can be approximately estimated as the quotient of the sum of the absolute frequencies of the events with the signatures "Safe On - Section Gaps "and” Safe One-Section Misidentification "and the number of individual surveys plus the number of events with the" Secure One-Section Gaps "signature.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates generally to traffic data collection systems. Specifically, the invention relates to the methods used in such systems for the evaluation of collected traffic data, in particular for the collection of tolls.
Vehicle autonomous toll collection systems are increasingly being used. The present invention has for its object to develop a method for traffic data acquisition, which overcomes the known disadvantages and has other advantages and is particularly suitable for autonomous toll collection systems. This object is achieved by the method for detecting traffic data with the features of
In the method according to the invention, journeys traveled by motor vehicles are compiled on the basis of transmitted data from individual parts of predetermined motorway sections of a traffic network model.

Thus, at the same time the main objectives for a detection error analysis are given. The enormous volume of data, the quality required to avoid wrong decisions and the need to initiate targeted countermeasures require a) an efficient and resource-efficient implementation of the requirements, with b) a fully automated workflow to the corresponding functional units that can initiate preventive measures. The inventive method makes it possible to achieve these goals with little effort and time in the realization, because the algorithms used are simple and the procedure can be implemented by default.
The following summary is intended to first illustrate the basic concept of the method according to the invention. The method according to the invention will then be explained in detail on the basis of a preferred embodiment (data model in the form of schematized information objects).
- 1. The simple comparison of the individual survey data with the route model (plausibility / gap check), as well as
- 2. an analysis of the total surveys per section of motorway (traffic flow).
In both cases, data (events or summation values) must be obtained in a high-performance manner in the first step. Even with this simple information, toll collection can be very effective. The need for such improvement is evident, far beyond the benchmarks in PMS, far no supporting information is available for operational control.
From the basic data, the information about the motorway sections ("motorway section") and the node ("node") can be used to determine the "FromNach" relation. The updating of the data model is carried out by updating the basic data.
Die weitere Bewertung von aufeinander folgenden Streckenabschnittserhebungen hat entsprechend beide Informationsquellen ("Knoten", "KnotenOptimierung") nach folgendem Ablaufschema zu berücksichtigen:However, the thus determined from-to-knowledge is based (almost) only on the toll road model. In order to avoid serious misinterpretations, the manual addition of special constellations in a table "Node Optimization" is essential before the analysis is started. The further evaluation of consecutive route segment surveys must accordingly take into account both information sources ("Nodes", "Node Optimization") according to the following flowchart:
The individual road sections raised to a vehicle may be denoted by i, j, k. If, following the relation "node", the highway section j can follow immediately after i, the next survey j with k can be considered. The data constellation is also considered correct if the highway section j is allowed to follow the motorway section i immediately following the relation "node optimization" and i carries an exit identifier and j carries an entry identifier.
- 1. For the section pair i and j, an entry "E-vent" is made in an event table, if with the above from-to-know and the present times at exit i and entry j or the interpolated time values for i and j is to be reached as simple waypoints at the speed corresponding to the parameter value for "minimum speed for-from-after" from the parameter set "standard" the point j of i. Professional attempts are made to interpret this constellation as a coverage gap further.
- 2. An "event" entry also takes place if the point j is not plausible in time and does not carry a drive-in license plate. This constellation is often called "place jump". In technical terms, this constellation will be further investigated from the point of view of registration errors (incorrectly programmed support beacons, errors in the track model, etc.).
In the event that the in-vehicle toll device forcibly / unavoidably registered with the ignition switched on and later also sends, the potential event (gaps with input / exit identifier) before an entry in the event table does not cross checked against any manual entry to become. This analysis must also be carried out for survey data with the value 0 € (vehicle with vehicle unit has been manually checked in).
In order to be able to inform without delay and to be able to initiate suitable countermeasures for the avoidance of damage quickly, should the survey data are examined periodically, eg at hourly intervals, the analysis results are made available in the event table and indicators about the number of "events" in the PMS are displayed. The further processing of the "Events" including all information in other tables can then from the toll collection in the form of automated operations including "e-mail alerting", alerts, u.ä. be implemented. In this case, if there are many survey data in a further refinement of the method according to the invention, the VonNach relations can be changed from km basis to time basis.
The following sections are intended to illustrate the details of the individual functional or operational steps of the method according to the invention with reference to preferred embodiments. It should be shown which examinations are possible in a simple way. Explanation of details of the data technology implementation is largely dispensed with. Basically, however, it is believed that the system must evaluate and process the survey data at a high rate, and for pragmatic reasons, the storage space constraint directly generates statistics, i. Individual case data only exported for special cases. Likewise, the nature of the representation of the data is not described. This must be done by suitable standard software. The method described here is intended to be used explicitly only as an internal information source, i. without consideration of any layman-operable surfaces.
- Frequency of section no-or-misses
- Rivers through sections and out / in connection points
- Erhebungsdatenverwaltung (Fahrtdaten)
- Grunddatenverwaltung (Knoten-Kanten-Modell)
- Survey data management (trip data)
- Basic data management (node-edge model)
In addition, some signatures are to be detected with certain parameters to be specified. These parameters are called hard cuts .
The occurrence of a signature is called an event. It should be noted that the same single survey can trigger several events of different signatures. Events can then be stored in event lists. These lists would very quickly become very large without any further measures, therefore filters should be provided for the generation of event lists which only store events with specific properties. Event lists are preferably generated for more analysis with more universal tools, including other cuts are used to amplify signals of interest and to set them apart from the background (noise).
To eliminate known bugs from the statistics, create negative lists of section IDs and EHK IDs. As soon as an object contained in a negative list is referenced in an event, this event is discarded.
In a simple embodiment, the duration of the program is sufficient as the observation period, but it is also possible to choose any period of observation (for example, hourly or daily) (see section 4.3).
Before the data are sent for further evaluation, they must be prepared from the supplied formats into an internal representation that is to be defined and optimized for the analysis.
- Number of edges
- Number of nodes
- Number of driveways
- Number of departures
The survey data are provided by the EDP in the form of summary data pots (SDT). These are first to be broken down into individual surveys. Care must be taken to ensure that information about the sum data pot as well as the position in the sum data pot is not lost. The original data can then be discarded.
The survey data are too plausible. If a plausibility test is not passed, an event must be generated with a clearly defined signature (see Section 3.1).
Individual surveys are to be sequentially sorted by a unique order criterion of sufficient period for each survey map. In principle, the value pair (sum data pot counter, individual survey number) is such a classification criterion, however, the period of the sum data pot counter is too low with 2 16 . Period overflows of the SDT counter must therefore be detected, counted and included in the criterion so that the following unique value triple results: Period overflows, total data pot counter, individual survey number.
- local signatures, ie signatures that can be recognized when analyzing a single, isolated survey dataset; and
- non-local signatures, ie signatures, in which the relationships of several survey data sets to one another play a role.
It is obvious that the detection of local signatures is much less expensive than the detection of non-local signatures. For the latter, a clear and high-performance system architecture is required in order to produce sufficient performance at a reasonable cost. It should be noted in particular that non-local signatures can not be detected without the management of internal states. The storage of these states must be high performance (i.e., done in RAM) and must not be explicitly held to be persistent.
Events with local signatures can be displayed in the format shown in Table 1 plus the "Signature" column and stored in individual case lists. For events with non-local signatures, however, specific data formats (which must also contain the "Signature" column) must be defined. The fields of stored events are also referred to as event variables.
The plausibility of survey data is initially checked locally. The data fields contained in the survey data are to be tested against a range of values. For fields that refer to objects from the tariff or route model, the range of values results from this model. For other fields, upper and lower bounds or a discrete set should be specified as hard cuts .
Daneben sind auch nichtlokale Signaturen zu erkennen:
- Lücke im Summendatentopfzähler
- Gaps in the totals data pot counter
- Gaps in the individual survey counter
Diese Signatur erfordert keinen weiteren Parameter. This signature requires no further parameters.
Events relating to negative plausibility tests of survey data are presented in the format shown in Table 2 plus the "Signature" column.
(vergl.Figur 1 oben).
- Secure one-section gaps
(See Figure 1 above).
The attribute "safe" is used in the sense of "unique". Thus, for example, even with signatures of length 2 (see FIG. 2) gaps can be recognized, although here it is not certain that exactly one section was not or was raised incorrectly.
- Sichere Ein-Abschnitts-Fehlerkennung
- Secure one-section error detection
Here, the data stream contains three sections p, q and r that do not form a contiguous path. There is no need for another hard cut parameter.
Events with these signatures should be displayed using the fields described in Table 2.
- Discontinuity (Figure 2 top left)
- (Falsche) Aus-Einfahrtserkennung
(Figur 2 rechts oben)
- (Wrong) Off-entry detection
(Figure 2 top right)
- Fehlende Ausfahrtkennung (Figur 2 links, Mitte)
- Missing exit code (Figure 2 left, center)
- Falsche Ausfahrtserkennung (Figur 2 rechts, Mitte)
- Wrong exit detection (Figure 2 right, center)
- Fehlende Einfahrtkennung (Figur 2 links unten)
- Missing entry code (Figure 2 bottom left)
- • Falsche Ausfahrtserkennung (Figur 2 rechts unten)
- • Wrong exit detection (Figure 2 bottom right)
Two successive sections p and q in the data stream, of which p is marked as exit but q is not as entrance, are connected in the route model by a node.
Events with these signatures should be represented by the fields described in Table 3.
Figure 3 shows some non-local 4-length signatures without considering the entrance and exit identifiers. 1 and FIG.
Der relative Fehler einer Messgröße fällt daher mit 1/√N.The events of the individual signatures are to be statistically evaluated according to the invention. This is done technically by classifying and counting events (absolute frequency) and normalizing to a corresponding population to obtain relative frequencies. In this case, for independent events, the error (the standard deviation) of the absolute frequency by the root is to be given (estimated) from this frequency. This means that the true value of the underlying random variable is 67% probability in the interval N ± √N. The relative error of a measurand therefore falls with 1 / √N.
- Number of STDs received
- Number of STDs received per EHK
- Number of individual surveys received
- Number of individual surveys received per EHK
- Number of individual surveys received stretch
- Number of individual surveys received per section of the route with entry code
- Number of individual surveys received per section of route with exit code
- Total number of events
- Total number of events per signature
- Total number of events per signature and per leg
- Total number of events per signature and per EHK
- Discarded events per entry of the negative list
A (one-dimensional) histogram is a set of counters (channels) in which the frequency of occurrence of a value of an event variable is recorded. A channel is also called bin , the assignment of value ranges of the histogrammed variables to the channels is called binning. (Strictly speaking, eg the above mentioned absolute frequency of single surveys per EHK is a histogram of single surveys above the event variable EHK-ID.) The histogram should always be kept on the number of individual surveys per STD.
If differentiation is made according to more than one variable, two- or multi-dimensional histograms result. (For example, a two-dimensional histogram would be the number of bumps above the EHK ID and over the leg). Multidimensional histograms can be reduced in their dimensionality by means of projections (adding all entries over a dimension to be eliminated). By increasing the absolute number of events, the relative error per bin is reduced.
All statistically collected data should preferably be issued in the form of database tables regularly (ie once per observation period), ie made available to subsequent programs.
In contrast to the statistics described in Section 4, event lists contain, among other things, data describing individual events (see Section 3). These lists can serve as data base for further analysis tools (data warehouses, etc.).
To standardize the data contained in the lists, the current counts of the absolute frequencies must be contained in the event lists in regular sections.
- All events that affect an EHD ID
- All events that affect a section
- All events of the type "Discontinuity" whose journeys are eg between 14:00 and 15:00.
Filter conditions are thus general logical expressions that are evaluated by accessing the data fields of an event. To allow the user to formulate their own filter conditions, a parser for these expressions can be implemented. However, this is not absolutely necessary if filter conditions are first anchored in the program code.
In an expanded embodiment of the method according to the invention, several filters can be operated simultaneously. In this case, each filter generates its own output list, in which data can be contained redundantly.
Ausfahrt
- River per entrance or exit
Here, for each section, the number of surveys with entry or exit identifier is counted.
For rivers different conservation laws can be formulated. In the case of freedom from sources, these rules are known in electrical engineering, for example as Kirchhoff's rules. (Freedom from sources here means that the observed objects can not spontaneously arise from a source or disappear in a sink.) Generally speaking, a source-free flow can be assumed, and thus divergences in the flow can be regarded as an indication of error effects). For example, Kirchhoff's rule in the present case is that the sum of all flows at a node must be zero. (It should be noted here that the detailed analysis of the measured flows is not trivial and does not form part of the invention for sufficiently large observation periods realistic, since the considered network has a certain storage capacity and the medium is compressible, on the other hand must be made for the application of the Kirchhoff rules certain conditions to the node-edge model whose compliance has not yet been verified.)
An essential goal of the analysis according to the invention is the estimation of the survey efficiency. The survey efficiency is the quotient of sections correctly identified as individual surveys and the number of sections of the actual vehicle on the actual journey. For a majority of the sections from the topological signatures of length 3 depicted in Section 3.2, using the absolute frequencies shown in Section 4.1, this collection efficiency thus defined can be approximately estimated as the quotient of the sum of the absolute frequencies of the events with the signatures "Safe On - Section Gaps "and" Safe One-Section Misidentification "and the number of individual surveys plus the number of events with the" Secure One-Section Gaps "signature.
This approximation assumes a collection efficiency close to one. It follows that the number of two-section gaps, where two sections are not recognized one after the other, is strongly suppressed and that the number of individual surveys provides a sufficiently accurate estimator for the population (the denominator). For a precise error analysis Monte Carlo simulations can be used.
