Description

The invention relates to a box-shaped container, in particular for transport and storage of agricultural products, having a substantially rectangular bottom, with four side walls and with an open top, which can be covered with a flexible, can be covered against the container cover.

Box-shaped containers are known in many designs; In particular, they are today made of plastic mainly by injection molding, with closed or open-ended side walls, and used as reusable packaging. To be able to transport and store empty containers in a space-saving manner, box-shaped containers are also provided with hinged side walls, as z. B. from the EP 0 786 412 B1 can be seen. On the other known from this document prior art is expressly noted.

Generic container can also be used to present the goods contained therein, such. As fruits or vegetables, serve, for. In or in front of a shop or at a market stall.

When storing and transporting products, but especially when presenting them for sale, it may be desirable be covered to protect the potentially sensitive products against external harmful influences the open-topped container. For this purpose, the use of a flexible and possibly transparent cover offers, for example in the form of a close-meshed net or a thin film made of plastic.

A transport box with such a cover is from the US 2002/0195450 A1 known. Here, a flexible plastic cover for a product container is shown, wherein the plastic cover consists of a foil blank, in the one hand ventilation openings and on the other hand cut to fit the associated container edge near the four corners of the plastic cover angled mounting slots in the film. The plastic cover is stretched over the container from above and pulled down at the corners of the container. Due to the mounting slots in the plastic cover, the cut edges grip the outside of the container corners, causing the plastic cover clamped on the container. In this case, the plastic cover alone with the help of the cut Eckschlitze by their tension and friction on the outer surface of the container should hold sufficiently.

Also in the FR-A-2 395 194 a cover sheet for fruit and vegetable boxes with four arranged in the corners, upwardly projecting post is described. The cover has cuts suitable for the upwardly projecting posts, so that the film can be pulled over the posts from above. After mounting the film, the posts run through the cuts in the cover.

The cuts are designed and arranged so that the film is under a low voltage, so that sufficient friction against the post is generated.

In general, such flexible covers are also secured by means of a cord, a rubber ring or the like on an open container. However, this attachment requires a loose additional attachment means that is not always tangible and also cumbersome and not always safe to install.

The problem to be solved with the present invention is, in view of the prior art, to provide a container which can be provided with a not specifically manufactured, but as simple as possible and thus universally applicable flexible cover, which quickly and easy to install and provides a reliable cohesion with the container.

To achieve this, the invention proposes that at least one projecting, pointed and rigid nose is arranged on or at least near each corner on the outside of the side walls.

In such a design of the container, a suitable thin and flexible cover, which is slightly larger than the container top, placed over the open top, turned down with its protruding edge and pulled down on the outside of the walls. The flexible material of the cover expands slightly elastic and can be applied to the noses and be pressed lightly. Upon release of the rim, the protruding pointed lugs hook into the underside of the bent, tensioned edge of the flexible cover. This process may be for a relatively large or long container with more than four lugs by means of a foil or a net or the like Cover inherent high flexibility also several times in succession, ie in sections to two or more opposite lugs, are performed. Finally, the cover completely covers the open top of the container, rests tightly on the flat upper edge of the walls and is held securely on the container by the lugs under tension.

To remove the edge of the cover need only be stretched a little further down so that it can be removed from the noses approximately horizontally and thus the cover can be removed. It is even possible to repeatedly open the container and close, z. B. to remove from a fruit store for sale now and then a portion of fruit.

The arrangement of the noses is thus made possible that in a very simple and convenient, but still secure a flexible cover to protect the contents of an open-topped container stretched and just as easily removed.

For effective entanglement is especially provided that the nose has a top and a bottom, which form an angle between them, which has at least obliquely downwards. Such an angle may be formed as acute angle. The underside can run at least approximately horizontally.

The nose may be of different shape for the purpose intended for it. In particular, the top and / or bottom of the nose may be rectilinear or curved, wherein the bend may be convex or concave. The top and / or bottom of the nose may also have an undercut. Also, it can be tough Pass training with a reinforcement in the side wall.

For relatively small rectangular, even square containers it may be sufficient to arrange the lugs on two opposite side walls; the flexible cover is then under tension in one direction. For larger containers, the lugs can be arranged on four opposite side walls; the cover is then under tension in two directions. For even larger or longer containers, it may be necessary or expedient that at least one or even several further lugs are arranged between the two lugs of a side wall.

If, in a rectangular container, the noses arranged at the corners are arranged within the geometrically rectangular outline of the container, they are particularly protected against harmful external forces, in particular caused by abutment with similar containers. Such a nose can z. B. between the outer rounding of a corner and its geometrically right-angled outline. In this case, the flexible cover can be stretched and fastened in two directions, so to speak, in a crosswise manner, in each case from one corner to the diagonally opposite corner.

Especially when plastic, z. B. by injection, manufactured containers, it is advisable that the nose is integrally formed on the side wall.

However, for retrofitting the nose can also be formed as a separate component and connected via a molded portion with the side wall. So can the nose with a section in a possibly existing opening be plugged in the side wall and held there by form or adhesion. The nose can also be glued or welded with a portion to a suitable surface of the outside of the side wall.

In addition, below the nose and spaced therefrom, at least one projection, e.g. in the form of a rib, be arranged. Then, the container can be held well by a strap or belt or the like laterally, since the belt or belt can no longer slip vertically. A strap or strap may in particular be looped around a plurality of similar containers stacked next to one another in order to securely hold them together during transport.

Finally, a rectangular container may also comprise retractable side walls, which may be provided with the lugs and any protrusions.

In FIG. 1 a container 1 is shown in plan view, extend from the rectangular bottom 2, four vertically upwardly projecting side walls 3 to 6. The side walls 3 to 6 are here pivotally connected to the bottom 2 and hinged by a hinge assembly on this. The two longer, opposite side walls 3 and 5 are provided near the open top 7 and near the corners 8 on their outer sides 9 and 10 with opposite, identical lugs 11, which are described in more detail below.

In FIG. 2 a container 12 is shown in plan view, from the square bottom 13, four vertically upwardly projecting, here also foldable side walls 14 to 17 extend. All side walls 14 to 17 are provided on their outer sides 18 to 21 near their open top 22 and near the corners 23 to 26 with identically shaped lugs 27 which are respectively opposite.

In FIG. 3 a relatively long, rectangular container 28 is shown in plan view, the structure of the container 1 in FIG. 1 essentially corresponds to, but has rigid, firmly connected to the ground or one-piece walls. Here, in addition to the near the corners 29 arranged lugs 30 more two opposing lugs 30a are arranged outside on the longer side walls.

In FIG. 4 a hinged side wall 31 of a container not shown in detail is shown in a perspective view. The side wall 31 has laterally from the top 32 to the bottom 33 continuous rounding 34 of the outside 35. Near the top 32 a nose 36 is integrally formed on the rounded portion 34 and at a distance A including a first recess 37 and at a distance B to a second same recess 37 is introduced.

In FIG. 5 is the hinged side wall 31 made FIG. 4 presented in a different direction. The side wall 31 has laterally right from the top 32 to the bottom 33 continuous rounding 34 of the outside 35. Near the top 32, the nose 36 is integrally formed on the outside 35. At a distance A below the first recess 37 and at a distance B to the second, same recess 37 is introduced.

Diese beispielhafte Ausführungsform der Nase 36 ist folgendermaßen aufgebaut: FIG. 6 shows the nose 36 of the FIGS. 4 and 5 in simplified side view. This exemplary embodiment of the nose 36 is constructed as follows:

The nose 36 is made of hard plastic, namely the material of the side wall 31, protrudes from the outside 35 in the region of the rounding 34, is formed pointed and rigid. The nose 36 has in plan view, approximately the shape of a narrow rib and includes an approximately rectilinear horizontally extending bottom 45 and at an acute angle β to the bottom 45 rectilinear sloping top 46. The nose 36 thus has with its acute angle β obliquely downwards.

As a possible variant, an undercut 47 is indicated by dash-dotted lines on the underside 45, which merges rounded into the outside 35 of the rounding 34. Further possible modifications in the form of a nose and its sides are mentioned in the general description.

FIG. 7 shows the nose 36 after the FIG. 6 in simplified plan view. Here it is visible that the in itself narrow nose 36 a lateral reinforcement 48 is formed, with which it merges into the side wall 31. The geometric outer corner 49 of the container or the side wall 31 is indicated by dash-dotted lines. Here it is clear that the nose 36 at the rounding 34 is still within the corner 49 and thus within the rectangular outline of the container. The nose 36 is thus protected against damage by abutment with adjacent containers.
