Abstract

The method involves superimposing a glue on an air permeable mounting plate (1) e.g. medium density fiberboard, and applying veneer pre-cut parts (2) on the plate. A negative pressure is produced at a side opposite to the pre-cut parts by openings (4) that are present at a top side of a coating station for absorption and fixing of the pre-cut parts. The pre-cut parts with its edges are put together on a surface of the plate. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a furniture plate with a mounting plate and veneer pre-cut parts (B) a device for manufacturing a furniture plate.

Description

The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for producing furniture panels, in particular for kitchen or cupboard furniture.

It is known to combine veneers together to obtain a veneer image, which can then be glued on a support plate. The joining of veneer blanks is extremely expensive. First, the individual veneer blanks are put together and then glued together at the joint. This is labor intensive and leads to dimensional inaccuracies in a variety of veneer blanks, since when joining a different linear expansion can take place. The manual effort to produce high quality surfaces is relatively expensive.

In addition, it is of course possible to hang the individual veneer blanks loosely on a glued support plate. Then there is the problem that due to the moisture of the glue, the veneer blanks can wave and protrude upwards in the joint area. Due to the moisture, the veneer blanks expand and during the subsequent pressing it can happen that the veneer blanks are not flush with each other but one above the other. This leads to a reduced surface quality and can lead to surface defects during subsequent grinding.

From the generic GB 2 306 105 is shown a method for the production of furniture panels, are glued in the veneer blanks on a plate for the production of furniture.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a method and an apparatus for the production of furniture panels that allow processing of multiple veneer blanks on a support plate in a simple manner and ensure a high surface quality.

This object is achieved by a method having the features of claim 1 and a device having the features of claim 9.

In the method according to the invention glue is first applied to a support plate and then the veneer blanks are placed on the glued support plate or the glued support plate is placed on the plate-shaped folded veneer blanks. Before and during or after laying down, negative pressure is generated on the side opposite the veneer blanks for sucking and fixing the veneer blanks, in which case, after covering the carrier plate, it is pressed together with the veneer blanks. If the veneer blanks are first arranged and then the glued carrier plate is laid on, the negative pressure is produced on the side of the veneer blanks. By the vacuum, the veneer blanks are fixed on the support plate and even a certain inclination of veneer blanks mostly made of wood materials aufwellen by the moisture of the glue is counteracted by the veneer blanks are sucked to the support plate or glue is sucked into this evenly. Although the veneer blanks still tend to expand, this ensures that the existing seam between two veneer blanks is compressed by the expansion. As a result, the joints can hardly be recognized. In the method according to the invention, the surprising finding is utilized that for holding the veneer blanks on the carrier plate, a certain negative pressure is sufficient, which can be transmitted through the carrier plate to the veneer blanks in order to fix them. In addition, the glue is sucked into the carrier plate, so that it does not come to undesirable Leimdurchschlag on the surface of the veneer blanks.

Preferably, the glued carrier plate is placed on a table at the top of a plurality of openings for generating the negative pressure are provided. As a result, a vacuum can be generated over the entire surface of the carrier plate, which is then forwarded to the side with the veneer blanks. Through the table can produce a largely uniform negative pressure on the support plate or the veneer blanks.

The veneer blanks are placed in the process with their edges flush with each other on the glued surface of the support plate so that the surface is formed by the subsequent pressing without open joints between the veneer blanks.

The carrier plates used are preferably medium-density fibreboard (MDF boards) or chipboard. The support plates have at least a slight air permeability and may have a thickness between 3 to 25 mm, preferably 5 to 20 mm, so that a negative pressure on one side is still noticeably present on the opposite side.

For the production of furniture panels, it is possible to coat only one side and to provide a double-sided coating. In most cases, the back of furniture panels is covered with a flat veneer, while a decorative front side is coated with a plurality of veneer blanks, wherein the inventive method is used especially for the decorative front. In this case, strip-shaped veneer blanks can be processed, the width of which is smaller than 50 mm, which is hardly possible with conventional methods.

According to a further embodiment of the invention, an intermediate plate, for example, laid an MDF board on which then the veneer blanks are placed on the table. This avoids contact between the usually metal tabletop and the easily damaged veneer blanks. The suction also extends through such an intermediate plate, so that fixing the veneer blanks on the support plate can also be done with such an intermediate plate. Then then the glued carrier plate are placed on the veneer blanks, wherein the glue is sucked into the veneer blanks. Before the pressing, the intermediate plate can be removed again, whereby it is of course also possible to insert the intermediate plate in the press and only after pressing to remove again.

According to the invention, a device for the production of furniture panels is provided, which comprises a gluing station, in which support plates are coated with a glue layer on at least one side. Further, a coating station is provided with a table with a table top, at the top of a plurality of openings for generating a negative pressure are present. Through the table can then be created on applied veneer blanks or the support plate, a negative pressure, which is transmitted to the top with applied veneer blanks or the support plate. Furthermore, the device also comprises a press for permanently connecting the carrier plate with the veneer blanks. The individual stations can be set up as a unit or separately. As a result, furniture panels can be produced in an effective manner, which are coated on at least one side with several veneer blanks.

For a simple design of the table, this has a hollow chamber, which communicates with the openings, wherein the hollow chamber is provided with at least one suction port to generate a corresponding negative pressure in the hollow chamber.

The invention will be explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings. Show it:
FIG. 1

FIGS. 2A to 2D
Various embodiments of coated furniture panels.

A carrier plate 1 is formed from an MDF board or a chipboard and has a thickness which allows at least some air permeability.

The support plate 1 is rectangular in plan view, wherein other geometries can be processed. On the support plate 1, a layer of veneer blanks 2 is placed on a glued surface of the support plate 1.

The support plate 1 rests on the veneer blanks 2 opposite side on a surface 3 of a table, wherein in the surface 3 openings 4 are recessed at regular intervals, which are in communication with a hollow chamber 6. The table comprises an upper plate 3 with the openings 4, a lower plate 5 and enclosing side walls 7 which surround the hollow chamber 6. To generate a negative pressure in the hollow chamber 6, one or more ports 8 are provided, which are connected to lines 9 to a vacuum pump. By generating a negative pressure in the hollow chamber 6, the carrier plate 1 is sucked through the openings 4, through which the negative pressure to the applied veneer blanks 2 are passed, which now no longer wave up and detach from the glued surface. After the entire surface of the support plate 1 has been occupied, it can be removed from the table and in a press, the veneer blanks 2 can be permanently connected to the support plate 1. It is of course also possible to directly press the carrier plate 1 on the table.

Further, the veneer blanks may first be placed on the table or on the table, a thin intermediate plate, e.g. a 1 to 2mm thick MDF board, be placed so that they can then be fixed with a certain negative pressure in the situation. Then then the one or both sides glued carrier plate can be placed on the veneer blanks and the glue partially sucked into the veneer blanks. Then then the pressing can be done, if necessary, even with prior occupancy of the second side of the carrier plate with Furnicrzuschnitten or a decorative film. Before pressing the intermediate plate can be removed for a better heat transfer, with a compression with intermediate plate is possible, which can support the occupied carrier plate in the manner of a tray.

If a carrier plate 1 is to be coated, which is smaller than the table top, the openings 4 in the area of the table top on which the support plate 1 or the veneer blanks or the intermediate plate do not rest, covered by an air-impermeable cover, for example with a foil plate. As a result, different support plates can be coated with one and the same table top without major changeover times.

In den Figuren 2A bis 2D sind verschiedene Ausführungsbeispiele von Möbelplatten gezeigt, die nach dem Stand der Technik nur mit hohem manuellen Aufwand herstellbar wären.FIGS. 2A to 2D show various exemplary embodiments of furniture panels which, according to the prior art, could only be produced with high manual effort.

In FIG. 2A, a rectangular veneer sheet (veneer blank) 10 is surrounded by miter-cut strips 11 and 13, which form a miter joint 12 between them. Around these strips 11 and 13 more veneer blanks 14 and 15 are laid, which also form a miter 16 between them. These veneer blanks 10 to 15 can be placed on the table on a support plate 1 and then be pressed without causing waviness with dirty joints 12 and 16.

In FIG. 2B, obliquely cut veneer blanks 20 are shown, which form joints 21 that run in an inclined manner relative to the carrier plate 1.

In FIG. 2C, a central veneer sheet (veneer blank) 10 'is surrounded by veneer strips 14' and 15 'which are surrounded by a frame and form a miter joint 16'.

In the example of a furniture panel shown in Figure 2D narrow strips 31 are provided between wide strips 30, the joints 32 form. The processing of narrow strips 31 is also extremely cumbersome in the prior art.

The veneered panels shown may consist of wood-based materials or other natural materials, fibers or other materials that can be glued to a support plate 1.

As a support plate 1, a plate of wood materials is usually used, although other plates can be used with a certain air permeability. Instead of the rectangular shape and curved shapes can be used, in which case the table can also form a corresponding curvature for a positive fit of the support plate 1. The support plate may also be dimensioned so thin that in a subsequent process for producing a curved furniture plate according to the patent EP 1 123 672 can be used. Thereby, the plate referred to herein as a carrier plate can then be connected to further plates to form a stack of individual plates, which is then shaped accordingly.

Furthermore, the coated furniture panel can also be used in a furniture front panel, as in the patent application DE 103 55 361 is described. As a result, the furniture front panel can be made with attractive decor in lightweight construction.
