Abstract

The control module, for the brakes of a truck trailer, has a compressed air control input (1-1) to deliver a compressed air supply. A number of compressed air outlets (21,22) are connected to the brakes. Electrically controlled magnet valves (110,112,114,116) work with relay valves (118,120) so that the compressed air outlets are charged with compressed air according to the switched state of the magnet valves. Further magnet valves (130,132) control the compressed air feed to additional outlets (126,128) for other pneumatic systems e.g. to raise/lower floors, tailgates, axles, etc.

The invention further relates to a method for controlling pneumatic functions of a Nutzkraftfahrzeuganhängers with a control module with at least one compressed air control input for supplying a control pressure, at least one compressed air supply inlet for supplying a supply pressure, a plurality of compressed air outputs for the connection of brake elements and a plurality of electrically controllable solenoid valves and a plurality with the solenoid valves cooperating relay valves, which are arranged so that the compressed air outputs are acted upon in response to the switching states of the solenoid valves with pressure.

Such control modules are used in the context of an electronic braking system (EBS) for trailers.

Various solutions for the realization of such a control module are known. Older solutions use three solenoids per side of the vehicle to perform basic braking functions. According to recent approaches only four magnets are required for this purpose. Such a system is in the WO 03/053758 A1 released.

In addition to the control of the basic brake functions, an electronic braking system is also suitable for controlling further functions relating to the trailer. This includes, for example, an automatic reset associated with a hoisting-lowering device (RTR = "Reset to Ride"). A lifting-lowering valve is used in a commercial vehicle trailer to lower or raise the cargo area when the trailer is stationary. For this purpose bellows are vented or ventilated. Since the state of the bellows has an influence on the other EBS functions, it is necessary to automatically reset the lifting-lowering valve when the vehicle resumes or at a certain maximum speed. For this purpose, according to the prior art, an electrical control of the lifting-lowering valve by the control of the electronic brake system. Another example of an additional consumer, which is electrically controlled by the control of the electronic brake system, is the lift axle valve of the lift axle control (LAC).

The invention has the object of developing a control module of the prior art with little design effort so that in addition to the basic brake functions, a control of additional consumers is possible without relying on a direct control by the control of the electronic brake system.

This object is achieved with the features of the independent claims.

Advantageous embodiments of the invention are indicated in the dependent claims.

The invention is based on the generic control module characterized in that at least one additional compressed air outlet for the connection and the pneumatic control of at least one additional consumer is provided and that at least one further controllable solenoid valve is arranged so that the further compressed air output in dependence of the switching state of the solenoid valve with pressure can be applied. In contrast to the solution of the prior art, are electrically controlled in the additional consumers, according to the invention takes place a pneumatic control.

The invention is based on the prior art in a particularly advantageous manner that two compressed air outputs for the connection of brake elements and four with two relay valves cooperating solenoid valves are provided and that two compressed air outputs for the connection of additional consumers and two more these compressed air outputs associated solenoid valves are provided. Assuming a control module of the prior art with six solenoid valves, that is, a backup solenoid valve, a Belüftemagnetventil and a bleed solenoid valve for each side of the vehicle, the present invention can be realized without much design effort. The basic brake functions can also be realized by four solenoid valves, so that the remaining solenoid valves are available for the pneumatic control of the additional consumers.

Usefully, it is provided that the solenoid valves cooperating with the relay valves comprise two 2/2 valves and two 3/2 valves, and that the at least one further solenoid valve is a 3/2 valve. The design of the solenoid valves cooperating with the relay valves as two 2/2 valves and two 3/2 valves offers the possibility of the basic brake functions according to the disclosure of WO 03/053758 A1 to realize. The solenoid valves for the additional consumers are designed as 3/2 valves in order to be able to selectively vent the pneumatic control output to the atmosphere or to connect the pneumatic control output to the supply pressure.

It is preferred that pressure sensors are provided for detecting pressures at terminals of the control module. By evaluating the pressures detected by the pressure sensors, the brake system can be monitored. To ensure that the braking functions are preferably provided by the control module, the pressures are detected in particular at the compressed air outputs. Only when a given Minimum pressure for the braking functions is available, the additional consumers can be supplied as part of a prioritization.

It may be of particular advantage that at least one pressure sensor can be connected via a solenoid valve depending on the switching state of the solenoid valve with different measuring points. This multiplexing function achieves a reduction of the required pressure sensors and thus a reduction of costs.

The invention is advantageously further developed in that a lifting-lowering valve with automatic reset (RTR valve) and / or a Liftachsventil (LAC valve) and / or a 2/2-valve can be connected as additional consumers. These are just a few examples of additional consumers. Every additional function in the trailer is always accessible to the pneumatic control.

The control module is further formed particularly advantageous in that it has an electronic control for driving the solenoid valves and for detecting and processing of pressure-dependent signals. The electronic control is thus an integral part of the control module and thus structurally combined in particular with the described valves, pressure sensors and other components of the control module.

The invention is based on the method according to the invention in that at least one additional consumer pneumatically actuated via at least one additional compressed air outlet is and that at least one further electrically controllable solenoid valve is arranged so that the further compressed air output in response to the switching state of the solenoid valve is pressurized. As a result, the advantages and special features of the control module according to the invention are also implemented in the context of a method. This also applies to the following particularly preferred embodiments of the method according to the invention.

This is characterized inter alia by the fact that for detecting a pressure on a service brake associated output a pressure sensor via a 2/2-solenoid valve in the de-energized state is connected to the output and that for detecting a pressure at a terminal of the control module of the pressure sensor the 2/2 solenoid valve is connected to the connection when energized.

For example, it is useful that a lift-lower valve with automatic reset (RTR valve) and / or a Liftachsventil (LAC valve) and / or a 2/2-valve are pneumatically controlled via the control module as an additional consumer.

The invention further relates to a utility vehicle having a control module according to the invention.

The invention is based on the finding that, starting from a control module of the prior art, a control module can be provided without great constructive effort, on the one hand, the base brake functions of the electronic brake system available on the other hand allows a pneumatic control of additional consumers.

The invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing with reference to a preferred embodiment.

FIG. 1 shows a schematic representation of a first embodiment of a control module 100 according to the invention. The control module 100 has a compressed air control input 4 to which a control pressure from a (not shown) brake valve can be supplied. The control module 100 further has a supply input 1-1, to which a (not shown) compressed air reservoir can be connected. Furthermore, compressed air outputs 21, 22 are provided for the connection of pneumatic brake elements.

To illustrate the brake base functions four solenoid valves 110, 112, 114, 116 and two relay valves 118, 120 are provided. In the illustrated switching state of the solenoid valves 110, 112, 114, 116 reaches control pressure from the control input 4 via the 3/2-way valve 112 to the 2/2-valves 116 and from there to the respective relay valves 118, 120. Depending on the size of the control pressure, the compressed air outputs 21, 22 fed via the relay valves 118, 120 pressure. The solenoid valves 114, 116 can be transferred independently of each other in their respective other switching state, so that the compressed air outputs 21, 22 can be acted upon individually with compressed air.

Combined with the possible switching states of the solenoid valves 114, 116, it is also possible to convert the solenoid valves 110, 112 in their respective switching states, not shown. Then, a relay valve 118, 120 or both relay valves 118, 120 depending on the switching state of the solenoid valves 114, 116 are supplied to the control input of the compressed air supply input 1-1 applied pressure.

The control module 100 includes another input 1-2. This input 1-2 is connected via a double check valve 138, which communicates with outputs 23, 24. These outputs 23, 24 are provided for the connection of further spring-actuated brake elements.

The control module 100 is further equipped with two 3/2 solenoid valves 130, 132. In the illustrated switching state of the solenoid valves 130, 132 associated with these solenoid valves 130, 132 outputs 122, 124 are connected via a vent 3 to the atmosphere. In the switching states, not shown, compressed air from the compressed air supply input 1-1 and the respective solenoid valves 130, 132 to the compressed air outlets 122, 124 and from there to the additional consumers 126, 128 arrive.

The additional consumers may be, for example, a lift-lower valve with automatic reset 126 and a lift axle valve 128. Furthermore, for example, a traction control system can be pneumatically controlled by the control module 100 as an additional consumer.

The control module 100 is further associated with an electronic control unit 136, which is preferably integrated in the control module 100. This electronic control unit takes over the control of the solenoid valves 110, 112, 114, 116, 130, 132, and detects the output signals of the pressure sensors 142, 144, 146, 148, 150. Here, the pressure sensor 142 measures the control pressure, and the pressure sensor 146 measures the supply pressure. The pressure sensors 144 and 148 measure the pressures at the pressure outputs 21 and 22, respectively. For example, the pressure sensor 150 is provided to detect the load condition of the trailer via the port 42.

The signals corresponding to the measured pressures are processed by the electronic control unit of the control module. In particular, it is ensured that sufficient pressure for the provision of the base brake functions is available before the additional consumers 126, 128 compressed air is supplied.

FIG. 2 shows a schematic representation of a second embodiment of a control module according to the invention. The second embodiment corresponds in many parts to the first embodiment of the invention, so that the description of the corresponding components and functions can be dispensed with. In the FIG. 1 shown additional consumers and the electronic control are to simplify the presentation in FIG. 2 Not shown. Unlike the first embodiment according to FIG. 1 is according to the second embodiment FIG. 2 the detection of the pressures by three pressure sensors 144, 152, 154 realized. This is achieved by the additional presence of two further 2/2-solenoid valves 156, 158. In the illustrated de-energized state of the solenoid valve 156 is detected by the pressure sensor 152, the brake pressure at the output 21. It is necessary to make such detection at a high frequency, so that the energized state of the solenoid valve 156 offers for this purpose. It is less common to measure the supply pressure at the compressed air supply inlet 1-1. In a similar manner, the solenoid valve 158 is used to selectively detect the pressures at the terminals 22 and 42. It is also within the scope of the invention to reverse the switching states with respect to the energization, that is in the energized state to detect the brake pressure at the outlet 21 and in the de-energized state, the reservoir pressure at the compressed air supply input 1-1.

Further differences between the embodiments according to the FIGS. 1 and 2 are that in the embodiment according to FIG. 2 two further ports 25, 26 are provided on the double check valve 138 and that the two venting outputs 3 of FIG. 1 to a vent outlet according to FIG. 2 are summarized.

The features of the invention disclosed in the foregoing description, in the drawings and in the claims may be essential to the realization of the invention both individually and in any combination.
