Definitions
- the present invention relates to a light influencing element for directing the light emitted from a light source according to the preamble of the independent claims.
- the invention relates to a so-called luminaire grid.
- Screens are known as optical elements for luminaires and are commonly used to concentrate or confine the light emitted by a light source to a predetermined angular range. In this way it can be prevented that persons are blinded by the light emitted by a lamp. Furthermore, disturbing reflections, in particular on vertical surfaces - for example on screens - avoided. Such screens are therefore used in particular in rooms in which there are jobs.
- Light grids of the type described above usually consist of a regular structure of grid elements with mirrored side walls, which are arranged in front of the light source as seen in the light emission direction. For the desired optical effect of the concentration of the light rays on a given area, a certain ratio between distance and height of the respective grid elements must be maintained.
- the grid elements in comparison to the light sources usually have a height of several centimeters, usually about 5 cm, wherein the distance between each two grid elements is sized slightly larger. This limits the possibilities of reducing the height of a luminaire.
- the US 3,600,570 A also describes a luminaire which has a light-influencing element which is formed by rib-like, transparent raster elements of a very small height.
- the light conduction takes place in this light influencing element by refraction of the light by means of the transparent raster elements or, at a suitable angle of incidence, by total reflection on the inside of the raster elements.
- the present invention has for its object to provide a novel light influencing element, which allows a lower height of lights. At the same time, however, the optical properties of a typical lighting grid should be maintained.
- the object is achieved by a light influencing element having the features of the independent claims.
- the light influencing element according to the invention consists of a plurality of rib-like raster elements made of transparent material, whose side walls are coated with a reflective layer and which are arranged in a regular structure.
- the grid elements have a height of at most 5 mm, preferably 1 mm.
- the distance between two raster elements preferably corresponds approximately to twice the height of the raster elements.
- a luminous grid with miniaturized grid elements is thus created, while nevertheless achieving the desired light-directing or light-concentrating properties. Due to the small height of this micro-grid greater freedom in the design of lights. In particular, lights can be achieved with a very low height.
- the light-influencing element according to the invention also gives the luminaire a visually appealing appearance. Furthermore, glare effects are reduced even when viewing the luminaire at angles in which a light emission is to take place.
- the grid elements are arranged on a transparent bottom plate.
- a novel light influencing element is created, which also has the desired lighting properties of a luminaire grid, but gives the luminaire a different appearance.
- the rib-like webs can take any shape seen in cross section, which allows a light deflection in the desired manner.
- the webs - as usual in conventional lamp grids - form V-shaped.
- parabolic or ribbed structures are conceivable.
- the grid elements are preferably made of a plastic, in particular of PMMA, where they represent a relatively unstable structure due to their small dimensions. In order to increase the stability of the light influencing element, therefore, the grid elements can be held together via a side frame.
- a further transparent plate can be arranged, which not only brings the advantage that the stability is additionally increased, but also enables easier cleaning of the light influencing element.
- the grid is from the outset better protected against contamination.
- the grid elements can be arranged parallel next to one another or in a cross-shaped structure. This arrangement is particularly advantageous when elongated fluorescent tubes are used as light sources.
- annular light sources which are usually gas discharge lamps, can also be used, the raster elements then being e.g. can be arranged as concentric circles.
- the grid elements are made of a transparent material, the side surfaces and preferably also facing away from the light source end surfaces are mirrored. This can be done, for example, by providing the raster elements with a reflective layer by a vapor deposition method.
- the light-influencing element itself is preferably produced by injection molding.
- FIG. 1 shows as an application example of the present invention, a recessed ceiling light 1 with an elongated light source 4, in which a light-influencing element 6 according to the invention is used.
- a light-influencing element 6 according to the invention
- light-influencing elements according to the present invention can also be used in other types of luminaires.
- the application is not limited to lights with elongate light sources.
- lamp 1 consists of a box-shaped lamp housing 2, on the bottom side connecting means 3 for the light source 4, in which it is a fluorescent tube, are arranged.
- the light emitted by the fluorescent lamp 4 is directed by means of a reflector 2 arranged in the housing 2 to the light exit opening of the housing 2 and discharged via this.
- a light influencing element 6 is arranged at the light exit opening, which effects a concentration of the light beams on the desired area.
- the light influencing element 6 is only a few millimeters high, thus opening up the possibility of keeping the overall height of the luminaire 1 very low.
- FIG. 2 shows an enlarged section A of the light influencing element 6 in section.
- the light-influencing element 6 consists of a transparent bottom plate 9 on the lower flat side of which rib-like raster elements 7 are arranged in a regular structure are.
- the grid elements 7 are formed as elongated webs and arranged parallel to each other.
- the concentration of the light beams to the desired angular range is achieved by providing the raster elements 7, which are likewise made of a transparent material, with a reflective layer 8 on their side surfaces and on their end faces.
- the light rays coming from the light source and passing through the transparent bottom plate 9 are therefore reflected on the side surfaces of the raster elements 7, as in a conventional luminaire raster, so that a light emission is made possible only within a limited angular range.
- the height H of the grid elements 7 is a maximum of 5 mm, preferably it is about 1 mm.
- the distance D between two adjacent grid elements 7 may also not be too large.
- the distance D corresponds approximately to twice the height of a raster element 7.
- the raster elements 7 can - as in FIG. 2 shown - seen in cross section have a slightly V-shaped form, as is known from conventional light grids. However, it is also possible, as the embodiments in the FIGS. 3a and b show to make the raster elements 7 different. In the example in Fig. 3a the raster elements 7 have a parabolic V-structure, while in Fig. 3b have a special rib structure, which is formed by superimposed, prismatic or wedge-shaped stepped portions 7a. Such rib structures are for example from the AT 308 901 or the EP 0 286 890 A1 known.
- the grid elements 7 are each integrally connected to the bottom plate 9 consisting of a transparent material.
- the light influencing element 6 according to the invention consists of a transparent plastic and is produced by injection molding.
- any type of plastic can be used which allows the formation of a transparent workpiece and is suitable for injection molding. This is preferably PMMA.
- the side and end faces of the grid elements 7 must be provided with the reflective layer 8. This is preferably done by a vacuum coating method, wherein it should be ensured that the lying between the grid elements 7 surfaces of the bottom plate 6 are not also coated, but continue to allow passage of light.
- FIGS. 2 and 3 illustrated embodiments The advantage of in the FIGS. 2 and 3 illustrated embodiments is that due to the one-piece design of the bottom plate 9 with the grid elements 7, the light influencing element 6 according to the invention has an increased stability.
- a further transparent plate 10 can be arranged on the side of the raster elements 7 opposite the bottom plate 9, as in FIG FIG. 3 is shown.
- the use of this additional transparent plate 10 has the further advantage that penetration of dirt particles into the spaces between two grid elements 7 is avoided.
- the light influencing element 6 can be cleaned better overall.
- the light-influencing element 6 As in the FIGS. 4 a and 4 b is shown, it is also possible to form the light-influencing element 6 according to the invention without bottom plate.
- the grid elements 7 are arranged only parallel to each other. Since this results in a significantly lower stability of the entire arrangement, at least one side frame 11 is provided which holds the grid elements 7 together.
- the light influencing element 6 can be produced by injection molding.
- the grid elements 7 and the transparent bottom plate 9 are not formed in one piece. Instead, the bottom plate 9 was glued in a later step with the grid elements 7. This also increases the stability of the light influencing element 6.
- the grid elements consisted of elongated ribs which were arranged parallel to each other. In this way, a glare of the light emitted by the light source can be achieved in one direction.
- the raster elements can be arranged, for example, in a crossed structure. A similar optical effect can also with the in FIG. 6 shown grid can be achieved.
- the raster elements consist in this case of annular structures 12 which are arranged in a honeycomb pattern.
- the diameter of a single ring structure is again preferably about 2 mm and, moreover, can also be significantly lower.
- ring-like structures is particularly suitable when a point light source - for example, a light bulb - is used and the light influencing element has a square or circular shape.
- at least the inner sides of the ring structures 12 are again understood to have a reflective layer.
- An alternative embodiment which is particularly applicable to annular light sources, e.g. offers correspondingly shaped gas discharge lamps, may also be to form the grid elements as a concentrically arranged rings. Also in these embodiments, the light influencing element 6 can be created with a very low height.
- flat illuminants can also be used, wherein each of the illustrated exemplary embodiments can be used as a light influencing element.
- the present invention thus offers the possibility of achieving light bundling of the light emitted by a light source with an optical element having a very small height. As a result, on the one hand, greater freedom in the design of a lamp. On the other hand, the luminaire is given a visually pleasing appearance, while still obtaining the desired photometric properties.

Description
US 6,139,169 bekannt.
