Abstract

The dosing dispenser for essentially spherical items contained in a container is characterized in that it comprises a passage channel whose inner cross-section is larger than the items, and an exit opening which in the relaxed state of the dosing dispenser has an elongated shape whose width is smaller and whose length is larger than the items. The dosing dispenser consists of a soft elastic plastic material and can be deformed by the application of pressure such that the exit opening gets larger than the items. The dosing dispenser is of a simple construction and can be produced at low costs.

Description

The invention relates to a metering dispenser according to the preamble of claim 1 for dispensing approximately spherical or spherical content bodies from a container, is attached to the opening of the dispenser. The ingredients are preferably so-called globules containing a medicinal agent, without the invention being limited thereto.

Such contents are usually not exactly spherical and their size can vary within a considerable tolerance range. For example, globules may be present in a container filling in the size of about 1.8 to 2.5 mm or in another order of 3.4 to 4.0 mm. The outer surface of such globules is generally not completely smooth, so that adjacent globules can "hook".

EP 0 393 573 A discloses a granulating dosing dispenser having a passageway whose internal cross-section is larger than the contents and an exit opening having an elongated shape in the relaxed state of the dosing dispenser, the width of which is smaller and whose length is greater than the contents of the dispenser a soft, elastic plastic and is deformable by applied pressure so that the outlet opening is larger than the contents of body.

The present invention has for its object to provide a metering dispenser of the type considered, which is simple in construction and inexpensive to produce.

This object is achieved by the features of claim 1.

Advantageous embodiments of the invention are characterized in the subclaims.

The metering dispenser according to the invention has a passage whose free inner cross-section is greater than the outer dimensions of the contents to be dispensed, and an outlet opening, which has an elongated shape in the relaxed state of Dosierspenders whose width is smaller and whose length is greater than the outer dimensions of the contents. The dosing dispenser consists of an elastomer-like plastic and is deformable by laterally applied pressure so that the outlet opening is larger than the outer dimensions of the contents of body. In the relaxed state of the dosing dispenser remains between the inner wall of the actuating portion and the outer wall of the tubular portion, a free annular space.

Accordingly, by lateral compression of the metering dispenser according to the invention, the preferably oval outlet opening, which initially retains the contents in the overhead position of the container, can be widened in the width direction so that the contents can fall out of the dispenser.

Between the inner wall of the actuating portion and the outer wall of the tubular portion remains according to the invention a free annular space, as long as the dosing dispenser is not compressed. The tubular portion is preferably cut in the axial direction, so that it consists of at least two mutually movable webs. That is, at least two narrow strips are cut away from the wall of the tubular portion so as to provide through slots to the end of the tubular portion. These slots should face each other.

This ensures that after release of the dosing a jarring effect along the passage channel occurs, whereby the adjacent content body, which may have hooked together on their outer surfaces, are freigerüttelt so that they - depending on the position of the container - either fall back into the container or for a subsequent dosing in the passageway in the direction of the outlet opening can slip.

With particular advantage it is provided that in the passage path of the contents body, preferably inside the passageway at least one retaining projection or retaining cam, preferably two opposing retaining cams are formed, which have a distance from each other in the relaxed state of Dosierspenders, which is larger than the outer dimensions of the contents body. In the relaxed state of the dosing dispenser, therefore, the contents can pass through the one or two opposing retaining cams. However, when the dosing dispenser is compressed to widen the discharge opening, the clearance between the retention cams is reduced so that the passage of the contents is blocked.

It is further provided that between the outlet opening of the dosing dispenser and the retaining cam (or the retaining cam) remains a receiving space in which only a single body of content can be added.

In the overhead position of the container and thus of the dosing dispenser thus enter contents of the container in the passageway, which are blocked by the elongated, not yet expanded outlet opening. In this case, there is a body of contents in the receiving space between the outlet opening and the retaining cam, while the subsequent contents are body in the passage before the retaining cam. The cams are arranged at locations opposite each other in the longitudinal direction of the outlet opening. Now, when the dosing dispenser is laterally compressed so that the outlet widens, the cams are simultaneously moved toward each other, thus blocking the passage for the second and the further contents of the body.

This ensures that each time the dosing dispenser is dispensed, only a single body of content is dispensed.
While in the previously known dosing dispensers is usually not guaranteed that only a single delivery of the contents of the body, this is certainly the case with the dosing dispenser according to the invention, if the Receiving space between the outlet opening and the retaining cam is dimensioned so that only a content body finds space in it.

It is within the scope of the invention that this receiving space can also be sized if necessary so that it can accommodate a specific, fixed larger number of contents bodies, which are then also delivered reliably on actuation of the dosing dispenser. Of greatest practical importance, however, is the single tax.

In further detail, it is proposed that the dosing dispenser an annular plug portion which is tightly inserted into the container opening, an annular lateral projection which rests on the upper edge of the container opening, and then has an actuating portion which projects beyond the container opening. The actuating portion preferably has a cylindrical, approximately rectangular in plan shape.

In order to facilitate the lateral compression of the actuating portion, it is proposed that in the outer peripheral wall of the actuating portion, in a rectangular shape or oval shape in the middle in the longitudinal sides, two axially extending grooves are formed, which are preferably in a plane which the elongated , preferably oval outlet opening bisected in the width direction. These squeezing grooves preferably have a flat U-shape.

It is further provided that outside in the end wall of the actuating portion two adjacent to the above-mentioned grooves, extending to the outlet opening preferably V-shaped grooves are formed, which lie on a line which thus halves the outlet opening also in the width direction. By these weakened wall sections, the operating section can be on its narrow sides (if the planform is approximately rectangular), slightly squeeze.

According to a further advantageous aspect of the present invention, the passageway is formed by a tubular portion which in Distance from the outlet opening is attached to the inside of the actuating portion, wherein the preferably two retaining cams are formed at the outlet opening facing the end of the tubular portion. About this cam is the receiving space for a content body, which thus has a slightly larger width than the passageway.

It is further provided that the metering dispenser is manufactured in one piece by injection molding. As a result, the metering dispenser according to the invention, in contrast to metering dispensers conventional type, which consist of several parts, particularly inexpensive to produce. As a material for the dispenser, for example, olefins come into consideration.

If the dosing dispenser is no longer used, it is expediently covered by a cap screwed onto the container neck. This cap has preferably on the inside of its upper end wall a central pin which protrudes in the attached state of the cap into the outlet opening of the dosing dispenser. As a result, a possibly in the outlet opening clamped content body is pushed back into the dosing dispenser.

The dosing dispenser 1 contains an in FIG. 1 The annular plug portion 2 has an outwardly curved peripheral wall, a so-called sealing olive, which ensures that the plug portion inserted into a container neck rests tightly against the inner wall of the container neck. The annular projection 3 rests on the upper edge of the container opening.

In the upper end wall 5 of the actuating portion 4, an elongated outlet opening 6 is formed for contents of the container, not shown. The outlet opening 6 has a width (in the direction of the arrow B in FIG FIG. 2 ), which is smaller than the contents to be dispensed with the dispenser, and a length (direction of the arrow L in FIG FIG. 2 ), which is larger than the content body.

The operating portion 4 has in plan view approximately a rectangular shape, the long sides 7 are convexly convex, while the short sides 8 have a concave curvature. The convex longitudinal sides 7 have in the middle in each case a U-shaped squeezing groove 9, which extends up to the top and merges into a V-shaped squeezing groove 10 in the end wall 5, which is continuous with the outlet opening 6.

When the operating portion 4 by applying pressure on the concave sides 8 (arrows K in FIG. 2 ) is compressed, the outlet opening 6 takes such a shape that a body of contents can escape from the outlet opening 6.

In the interior of the actuation section 4, a tubular section 11 extending in the axial direction of the metering dispenser is centrally attached to the inner wall of the actuation section 4. Near the upper end of the tubular portion 11, two diametrically opposed projections or retaining cams 12 are integrally formed on the inner wall, whose clear distance is greater than the contents of the body so that they can pass the retaining cams 12 when the operating portion 4 is not compressed.

Between the top of the retaining cams 12 and the inside of the upper end wall 5 remains such a distance that can be included in this so limited receiving space 13, a content body whose exit from the dosing dispenser 1 in the non-actuated state by the elongated outlet opening 6 prevents becomes.

The two retaining cams 12 are arranged in the longitudinal direction of the outlet opening 6. Thus, if a pressure force is exerted on the sides 8 of the actuating portion 4, which deforms the outlet opening 6 so that the content body located in the receiving space 13 can escape, has the same time with the release of the outlet opening of the clearance between the retaining cam 12 so reduces that no subsequent body of content can pass through the two retaining cams 12. Therefore, the dosing dispenser 1 always gives only a single content body at each actuation.

The tubular portion 11, the lower inlet opening 14 of which is exposed to the interior of the container (not shown), is cut free from the inner wall 15 of the actuating portion 4. This means that - in the relaxed state of Dosierspenders - between the outer peripheral wall of the tubular portion 11 and the inner wall 15 of the actuating portion 4, a free annular space 16 remains.

In addition, the tubular portion 11 constituting the passageway for the contents body is cut in at least 2 peripheral portions which are movable relative to each other as the longitudinal slots pass to the lower end of the tubular portion 11. This has the consequence that after the delivery of a content body and the subsequent successful release of the operating portion 4 by the user not only - due to the rubber-elastic property of the dosing dispenser 1 - the outlet 6 resumes its original shape and the tubular portion 11 with the retaining cam 12 returns to its original shape, but it takes place along the tubular portion 11 because of its cut-free longitudinal webs a shaking effect, possibly with each other entangled contents body from each other, so that the contents of body either in upright arrangement of the container slip back into this, or in an overhead position of the container (and the dosing dispenser), the next body of content can advance to the outlet opening 6.

The one-piece metering dispenser consists - as already mentioned above - of a rubber-like or elastomeric material and is produced by injection molding.

Claims (11)

  1. A dosaging dispenser for substantially spherical items contained in a container, wherein the dosaging dispenser (1) has a through channel (11) of which the internal cross-section is greater than the contained items, and an outlet opening (6) which in the relaxed state of the dosaging dispenser (1) has an elongate shape in which the width is smaller and the length is greater than the contained items, and wherein the dosaging dispenser is made from a soft resilient plastics material and can be deformed by the application of pressure in such a way that the outlet opening is greater than the contained items, characterised in that in the relaxed state of the dosaging dispenser a free annular space (16) remains between the inner wall (15) of the actuating section (4) and the outer wall of the tubular section (11).
  2. Dosaging dispenser as claimed in Claim 1, characterised in that on the through channel (11) there is formed at least one retaining cam, preferably two opposing retaining cams (12), wherein the spacing between the said cams in the relaxed state of the dosaging dispenser (1) is greater than the contained items, and a receiving chamber (13) for a contained item remains between the outlet opening and the retaining cams (12).
  3. Dosaging dispenser as claimed in Claim 2, characterised in that the retaining cams (12) are disposed at locations which lie in the longitudinal direction of the outlet opening (6).
  4. Dosaging dispenser as claimed in Claim 1, characterised in that the dosaging dispenser (1) has an annular plug section (2) which rests in a sealed manner on the inner wall of the container opening, a circular lateral projection (3) which rests on the upper edge of the container opening, and an adjoining actuating section (4) which projects beyond the container opening.
  5. Dosaging dispenser as claimed in Claim 4 or 5, characterised in that two grooves (9) extending in the axial direction are constructed externally in the peripheral wall of the actuating section (4) and lie in a plane which bisects the outlet opening (6) in the widthwise direction.
  6. Dosaging dispenser as claimed in Claim 4 or 5, characterised in that two grooves (10) are constructed externally in the end wall (5) of the actuating section (5), and lie in a plane which bisects the outlet opening (6) in the widthways direction.
  7. Dosaging dispenser as claimed in any one of Claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the through channel is formed by a tubular section (11) which is attached to the inner wall (15) of the actuating section (4) at a distance from the outlet opening (6), and that the preferably two retaining cams (12) are formed on the end of the tubular section (11) facing the outlet opening (6).
  8. Dosaging dispenser as claimed in Claim 7, characterised in that the tubular section (11) is cut open in the axial direction so that it has at least two peripheral sections which are movable relative to one another.
  9. Dosaging dispenser as claimed in any one of Claims 1 to 8, characterised in that the dosaging dispenser (1) is produced in one piece in an injection moulding process.
  10. Container with a dosaging dispenser as claimed in any one of Claims 1 to 9.
