Abstract

Eine rohrförmige dielektrische Barriere-Entladungslampe mit einem Entladungsgefäß und mindestens einer Innenwandelektrode weist zumindest an einem Ende eine sich entlang des gesamten Umfangs des Entladungsgefäßes erstreckende Verengung 9 auf, die sich in der dem Innern des Entladungsgefäßes entgegengesetzten Richtung verjüngt. Die Verengung 9 dient dem gasdichten Verschließen dieses Endes des Entladungsgefäßes mittels eines an dieser Stelle eingesetzten pumptellerförmigen Verschlusselements 4. Durch die erfindungsgemäße Verjüngung des Entladungsrohrs zur Ausbildung der Verengung 9 wird eine negative Beeinflussung des Elektrodenabstands und/oder der Dicke der dielektrischen Beschichtung der Elektroden in dem an die Verengung 9 unmittelbar angrenzenden Bereich des Entladungsraums verhindert oder zumindest deutlich vermindert.
