Description

The invention relates to an applicator for applying paints and primers or the like. By means of a compressed air-free spray gun and on a compressed air spray gun with such an application aid.

Usually exterior and roof coatings are applied externally from liquid materials, such as paints and primers, using a brush or a paint roller from a bucket. Furthermore, colors can be pumped via a hose into the extension rod of a paint roller using compressed airless liquid pumps and distributed with the roller on facades. This is by the weight of the ink-filled rod and the roller physically exhausting and very unwieldy by the hose on the rod on facade scaffolding.

Eine in der BE 351 234 A gezeigte Auftraghilfe eines derartigen Aufbaus dient in Verbindung mit einer Sprühvorrichtung dazu, die unter Wirkung von Druckluft (vgl.An application aid of such a structure shown in BE 351 234 A is used in conjunction with a spraying device which, under the action of compressed air (cf.

Claim 3) to keep the resulting color or paint cloud in shape (see page 2, lines 1 to 5), including a fiber ring around the outlet opening of the spray attachment is used, as described for example on page 3, 3rd and 4th paragraph. On the other hand, such sprays practically do not occur in compressed air-free spray guns, and contouring by means of the bristles is of no concern in the case of a compressed air-free spray gun.

Weitere Vorsätze für in der Regel unter Druckluft wirkende Sprühpistolen sind in der US 6,209,807 B1, der GB 196,416 A und der US 5,360,165 A angegeben, bei denen keine Borstenanordnungen vorgesehen sind, sowie weiterhin in der US 4,895,306 A, der US 2001/055512 A1 und der JP 08309240 A gezeigt, die z.B. zum Versprühen von Herbiziden oder zum Reinigen von Autorädern dienen.Other attachments for generally under compressed air acting spray guns are given in US 6,209,807 B1, GB 196.416 A and US 5,360,165 A, in which no bristle arrangements are provided, and further in US 4,895,306 A, US 2001/055512 A1 and JP 08309240 A, for example for spraying herbicides or cleaning car wheels.

The invention is based on the problem of enabling a uniform, compressed air-free spraying of liquids without physical exertion in the outdoor area.

This problem is solved with the features of claim 1 and 14, respectively. It is provided that on the inside of the bristle arrangement, a protective ring connected to the outlet-side free edge region of the opening section is arranged, over which the bristles project with their free ends. In the case of the compressed-air-free spray gun with such an application aid, it is further provided that the delivery pressure is more than 0 but not more than 80 bar.

With these measures in connection with the compressed air-free spray gun, in which virtually no nebulization takes place, liquid materials can be rational and be applied without physical exertion on facades or roofs in the area outside without the wind carries away the liquids and distributed in the environment on cars or other surrounding objects and buildings. The splash guard, which opens in the direction of injection, creates a wind-protected area, which is effectively continued through the protective ring into the area of the bristles. The liquid can be applied without hindrance to the surface to be treated. Touching the surface with the bristles is harmless. After spraying, for example, only slight re-rolling of the coating is required in order to achieve an even distribution on the surface. This approach is not only power-saving, but above all time-saving. Under airless spray gun is a non-compressed air spray gun to understand. The design of the spray gun is such that no spray or spray mist is formed. With the guard ring is reliably avoided that spray penetrates especially through the area of the bristle approaches. At the same time the spray chamber remains unaffected, since the bristles practically can not bend inward, but unhindered to the outside.

Advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.

If it is provided that the opening section is elongated in cross-section with a longitudinal extent which can be aligned in accordance with the spray jet cross-section, the handling during application is favored since the lateral edge of the funnel is substantially adapted to the contour of the spray jet.

Various advantageous shapes consist in the fact that the opening section has approximately oval, circular or polygonal cross-section. In the polygonal embodiment, the mold may be e.g. be designed as a narrow rectangle or narrow parallelogram or similar.

The attachment portion may be formed differently in such a way that it is provided with a screw fastening, plug-in attachment, a bayonet lock, a snap fastening or clamp attachment, whereby an adaptation to the shape of the particular injection nozzle-carrying portion is made possible.

Upon wear, the attached bristles, e.g. made of plastic, rubber, natural hair or natural fibers or the like. Exist, or the bristle arrangement easily removed and replaced, if it is provided that the bristle arrangement has a holder, with which it is detachably attachable or attached to the edge of the outlet. Furthermore, various design options exist in that the bristle arrangement has axially parallel to the axis of the opening section or at least parallel to one another or obliquely outwardly directed bristles.

In order to obtain improved adaptability to hard to reach places, furthermore, the measure is advantageous in that the fastening section has an adjustable pivoting section and / or is designed to be elastic but dimensionally stable.

A vorteihafte design is that the opening portion (at least in a longitudinal section) is funnel-shaped.

For a trouble-free application of the paint or primer in the outdoor area also contribute to the measures that the bristles protrude by less than half their length over the free edge of the guard ring. This precludes leakage of the spray through the critical areas of the bristles, while the bristles have sufficient elasticity in their end portions.

Further advantageous design possibilities for the attachment of the guard ring are that the guard ring is mounted over the bristle ring or directly on the free edge region of the opening section.

A trouble-free handling and ease of use is further facilitated by the fact that the guard ring made of plastic or rubber and has lower rigidity than the opening section.

For the mode of action and simple attachment of the bristle ring and the guard ring, the measures are also advantageous in that the opening section is formed parallel to the axis in its outlet-side edge region.

For an effective application of paints and primers in conjunction with the order help further measures are advantageous in that the delivery pressure between 10 and 50 bar and the conveyor is designed as a peristaltic pump, diaphragm pump, piston pump, screw pump or peristaltic pump.

As FIGS. 1 and 2 show, an application aid formed as a funnel-shaped splash guard 1 in longitudinal section is attached to a front section surrounding a spray nozzle by means of a fastening section 3 surrounding a spray nozzle, in particular the nozzle section of a compressed air-free spray gun 4, and by means of a fastening means 3.1 clamped in the form of a clamp-like fastening ring. At the peripheral edge of the funnel outlet, a bristle arrangement 2 with protruding bristles is releasably attached by means of a holder with a retaining ring 2.1 or bristle ring.

Alternatively, but less favorably, the section of the splash guard 1 which opens in the direction of injection could be configured stepped in a longitudinal section.

According to FIG. 2, the fastening section 3 can be provided with an adjustable pivoting section 3.2, which can be fixed in a desired pivoting position, e.g. be provided in the form of a ball joint. The fastening means 3.1 of the fastening section 3 can be designed in various ways, for example as a plug-in fastening, screw fastening, as a bayonet closure, as a clamp fastening, e.g. with clamp or as locking connection. The pivoting section 3.2 may be e.g. be designed as a bendable pipe sections in different directions or be provided with a pivot axis.

The bristles of the bristle arrangement 2 can, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, for example, be directed either obliquely outwards or parallel to the funnel axis or at least parallel to one another. They have, for example, a length between 1 and 30 cm, preferably between 2 and 12 cm or 4 and 10 cm, whereby the remaining design of the splash guard (for example length, opening angle) for the length and stiffness of the bristles plays a role, and the bristles are made of plastic, natural hair, natural fiber or rubber or the like. And are stiff enough to maintain their projecting direction even in a horizontal position. The holder with the bristle ring 2.1 is preferably detachable, so that different bristle arrangements 2 can be mounted in order to easily replace them when worn. For rubber or plastic bristles these can be integrally attached to the retaining ring 2.1. With the bristles a contact of the object to be sprayed is possible without this being damaged. On the inside, the bristle arrangement 2 is partly overlapped by a circumferential guard ring, for example by more than a third, half or two-thirds of its length, depending on its design.

The funnel-shaped portion 1.1 of the splash guard 1, which may consist of plastic, rubber or metal or other rigid material, and dimensionally stable, but advantageously somewhat flexible, is limited in longitudinal section either by straight lines or convex inwardly or outwardly extending curves. In cross-section or in a front view opposite to the spray direction of the funnel-shaped portion 1.1 may have different shapes, as shown in FIG. 3 by way of example in the partial images a) to f), wherein the longitudinal extent is directed according to the cross section of the spray. For this purpose, the attachment portion 3, in conjunction with the front portion of the spray gun 4 an adjustment aid for unambiguously matching the cross-sectional longitudinal extensions of the spray jet and the opening portion to each other. The opening angle of the funnel-shaped portion 1.1 is approximately in a range between 40 ° and 120 °, e.g. between 50 ° and 100 ° and in particular depends on the opening angle of the spray. The orientation of the longitudinal extent of the funnel cross-section is usually vertical according to the usual extent of the spray jet. The longitudinal extent of the opening portion is preferably at least twice as large as its transverse dimension and is e.g. at least 20 cm, but preferably at most 30 cm.

The retaining ring or bristle ring 2.1, in the tufts of bristles are inserted side by side, is provided at its narrow edge which faces the free edge of the opening portion 1.1, provided with a longitudinally extending insertion slot 2.3, with which it is plugged onto the edge region of the opening section 1.2 and to which it is preferably releasably fixed by means of holding elements 2.2, for example in the form of rivets, screws or locking elements. On the inside of the bristle ring 2.1 and / or edge region of the opening section 1.1, the encircling guard ring 5 is also formed, for example, by means of a fixing element 5.1, such as a rivet, a screw or a clip connection, or in one piece on the edge region of the opening section 1.1. The encircling guard ring 5 overlaps the inside of the bristles by preferably at least a third, better at least half or two-thirds, so that the spray can not penetrate between the bristles, in particular in the regions of the bristle extensions. It is also prevented by means of the protective ring 5, that the bristles 2 in the clear spray chamber of the applicator bend in and can disturb the spray effect. On the other hand, the bristles 2 can bend slightly at their ends over the free edge of the guard ring 5 slightly inwards and can otherwise bend unhindered over its entire length to the outside, if there is a contact with the surface to be sprayed. This greatly simplifies the effectiveness of the application aid and handling. The guard ring 5 is preferably less rigid than the relatively stiff, opening portion 1.1, whereby a favorable for the operation flexibility of the guard ring 5 is obtained. For example, the relatively inherently stiff bristles have a length between 5 and 12 cm, while the length of the guard ring in cross-section, for example, between 3 and 11 cm, being always shorter than the bristles.

For the manufacture and attachment, an advantageous measure is that the bristle arrangement of the bristle ring 2.1 with the bristles used as Longitudinal strip of long strip material is cut to length according to the circumferential length of the outer free edge of the opening section 1.1 and is joined together at their impact edges when attached to the opening section 1.1. Accordingly, the guard ring 5 can be cut to length from belt-shaped plastic material. In this case, when the bristles project outwardly substantially parallel to each other, they can be easily attached to the holding portion at the opening portion 1.1; The same also applies to the guard ring 5. It is advantageous, as also shown in Fig. 4, formed in the free end of the opening section 1.1 an outwardly projecting paragraph 1.2, from which the free edge region of the opening section 1.1 extends forward. The paragraph 1.2 gives a favorable approach area for the bristle ring 2.1 and also the guard ring 5 and also a substantially flush, smooth transition to the interior of the opening section 1.1.

The compressed-air-free spray gun has for conveying the spray material, e.g. a peristaltic pump, diaphragm pump, piston pump, screw pump or peristaltic pump. The delivery pressure is more than 0 or at most 80 bar, preferably 10 to 40 or at most 50 bar. In such an airless spray gun best order results are achieved with ease of use in the outdoor area with the described application help.
