Claims (5)

  1. Verfahren zur Behandlung von Postsendungen (1) in einer Postbehandlungsmaschine (2), wobei die Postsendungen "mit Auslandsbestimmung" genannte Postsendungen beinhalten und jede Postsendung eine, eine Adresseninformation (21) umfassende Oberfläche hat, in welchem:
    • ein Digitalbild (4) der Oberfläche der Postsendung, die die Adresseninformation umfasst, gebildet wird,
    • ein Vorgang zur automatischen Adressenerkennung (6) durch OCR im Hinblick auf die Bestimmung der Adresseninformation der Postsendung durchgeführt wird,
    in dem Fall, in dem die Adresseninformation nicht automatisch in eindeutiger Weise (8) erkannt werden kann,
    • vom Digitalbild (4) der Postsendung einen Digitalabdruck (9) abgeleitet wird, der ein Kennzeichen der Postsendung in der Maschine darstellt, wobei der Digitalabdruck eine erste repräsentative Komponente eines physikalischen Merkmals des Digitalbildes und eine zweite durch OCR vom Digitalbild gewonnene Komponente umfasst,
    • dann ein Vorgang zur Adressenerkennung durch Video-Kodierung (10) durchgeführt wird,
    • die aus der Video-Kodierung resultierende Adresseninformation im Zusammenhang mit dem Digitalabdruck in einem Speicher aufgezeichnet wird,
    • die Postsendung durch ihren Digitalabdruck (9) identifiziert wird und ausgehend vom Digitalabdruck die durch Video-Kodierung erhaltene Adresseninformation im Speicher erhalten wird,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass ein Identifikationscode (25) erzeugt wird, der ein erweiterter Identifikationscode ist, der mindestens an einem zyklischen, iterativen Teil (23') und einen von der Adresseninformation, die durch OCR oder durch Video-Kodierung erkannt wurde, abgeleiteten Teil gebildet ist,
    • und der Identifikationscode (25) für die Postsendung auf die Postsendung aufgedruckt wird, wenn die durch Video-Kodierung oder durch OCR erkannte (15) Adresseninformation einer Adresseninformation (17) einer Postsendung entspricht, die keine Auslandsbestimmung hat.
  2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, in welchem der von der Adresseninformation abgeleitete Teil eine Postleitzahl ist.
  3. Verfahren nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, in welchem der Postbehandlungsmaschine (2) eine Identifikationsnummer (24) zugewiesen wird und in welchem der erweiterte, auf der Postsendung aufgedruckte Identifikationscode (25) außerdem die Identifikationsnummer der Maschine (24) umfasst.
  4. Verfahren nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, in welchem der zyklische, iterative Teil des Identifikationscodes unter Berücksichtigung der Postleitzahl erzeugt wird.
  5. Verfahren nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, in dem der Identifikationscode eine Aneinanderreihung des zyklischen, iterativen Teils mit dem von der Adresseninformation, die durch OCR oder durch Video-Kodierung erkannt wurde, abgeleiteten Teil und der Identifikationsnummer der Maschine (24) umfasst.
