Description

The invention relates to a grease fire extinguisher as a liquid pressure extinguisher with a small filling volume.

The eradication of fat burns has been a major problem. After long tests, including the professional associations food and catering establishments had to be found that the previously used extinguishing agents such as powder, carbon dioxide, etc. are not or insufficiently suitable for extinguishing fat burns. For this reason, special extinguishing agents have been developed for fat burns. Such a liquid fat fire extinguishing agent developed for fat burning is known under the product name "FettEx" and in use. In order to achieve the standards set by European directives (EN3), namely to be able to successfully extinguish the standardized test objects, liquid pressure extinguishers, which were previously used as water or foam extinguishers and filled with this grease fire extinguishing agent, have a filling volume of at least 6 Liter used to apply sufficient to extinguish fat burns amount of liquid fat fire extinguisher can.

A grease fire extinguisher according to the preamble of claim 1 is known from the document DE 203 01 378.

The invention has for its object to provide a grease fire extinguisher, which manages with the same fire extinguishing with significantly less fat fire extinguishing agent.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the fat fire extinguisher specified in claim 1. Advantageous embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.

The fat fire extinguisher according to the invention thus operates with a specially configured nozzle in contrast to the previously used to extinguish fat burns, although filled with liquid grease extinguishing agent, but otherwise including extinguishing hose and extinguisher conventionally constructed liquid pressure extinguishers. The thus unexpectedly achieved effect is so considerable that instead of the previously required in liquid extinguishers for safe extinguishment of grease fires minimum amount of liquid grease fire extinguisher "FettEx" of six liters now a safe extinguishing success can be achieved with only two liters of filling volume.

The extinguishing agent "FettEx" (approval number PL 13/2000 ") is a special liquid extinguishing agent for oils and fats that creates a closed gas-tight foam blanket and immediately stifles the fire However, of great importance is that the extinguishing agent must be applied to finely distributed.

Die gebrauchsfertige kommerziell verfügbare Fettbrandlöschmittellösung "FettEx" hat folgende technische Spezifikation: Dichte: 1,28 kg/Liter pH-Wert ca. 8,5 Brechungsindex nD20 1,40 Viskosität bei +20°C 5 ± 0,5 mm2/s Viskosität bei -15°C 29 ± 3,0 mm2/s The ready-to-use commercial grease firing solution "FettEx" has the following technical specification: Density: 1.28 kg / liter PH value about 8.5 Refractive index nD 20 1.40 Viscosity at + 20 ° C 5 ± 0.5 mm 2 / s Viscosity at -15 ° C 29 ± 3.0 mm 2 / s

I = V / t x A

Figure imgb0001
It should be noted that to achieve an optimal erase result, an erase pulse of the following formula must be adhered to: Erase pulse I = V / t x A
Figure imgb0001
where V means the extinguishing agent volume, t the extinguishing time and A the burning area. The flow rate for a fat fire extinguisher according to the invention with 2 liters capacity may be at 6 to a maximum of 12 liters per minute.

The fat fire extinguisher according to the invention brings decisive advantages because it requires only a small quantity of extinguishing agent. Assuming once a situation of a large fryer with a capacity of 36 kg frying fat, as is the situation in the practice of catering establishments and as this is also intended as a standard test object for Löschleistungsversuche is when extinguishing such a burning fryer with a conventional Extinguisher with at least 6 liters of filling volume already justified the risk of overflowing the fryer with the leakage of burning hot fat, which poses a great danger, because through overflowed grease, even if it has already been extinguished, other objects can be set on fire, because the overflowing grease still has a temperature of about 300 ° C. It is also dangerous when leaking grease comes into contact with water, which leads to the sudden evaporation of the water with danger to persons present by scalding.

The effect of the fat fire extinguisher according to the invention is that the application of the liquid fat fire extinguishing agent takes place in an optimized form and this fat fire extinguishing agent so unfolds the optimal extinguishing effect in a small amount.

The invention will be described below in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the drawings shows:
Fig. 1
a perspective view of the foam nozzle of a grease fire extinguisher according to the invention in an exploded view,
Fig. 2
an end view of the foam nozzle according to Fig. 1 of, and
Fig. 3

The fat fire extinguisher according to the invention is designed as a liquid pressure extinguisher with an extinguishing agent container of two liters capacity and a specially configured nozzle. The device operates at an operating pressure of 12 to 18 bar.

In the drawings, only the nozzle is shown, since the extinguisher is otherwise of conventional design. The nozzle shown in Figs. 1 to 3 of the drawings is screwed directly into the outlet valve of the extinguishing agent container.

According to the drawings, the nozzle is designed as a cup body 1 with an externally threaded screw neck 2 for screwing into the outlet valve. In the cup body, a sputtering plate 3 is used, which contains a coronary arrangement of six nozzle openings 4 in the embodiment. The space behind the sputtering plate 3 in the cup body is designed as a diverging diffuser chamber. The nozzle openings 4 are each relatively small and expand rearwardly in the sputtering plate 3 via a cone with a large cone angle in a cylindrical, rearwardly open bore substantially larger diameter, in each of which a swirl body 5 is inserted. The swirl body 5 are clearly visible in the exploded view of FIG. 1, and their arrangement in the sputtering plate 3 is clearly visible in the section of FIG. 3. The swirl bodies 5 effect, in cooperation with the nozzle openings 4, the atomization of the liquid extinguishing agent supplied from the extinguishing agent container through the screw neck 2 into a uniform diverging spray jet of about 40 cm diameter. At the above-mentioned operating pressure of the device from 12 to 18 bar, a throw of about 2 to 3 meters is achieved.

Since with continuous pressure extinguishers during the progressive deletion of the pressure gradually decreases, accordingly reduces the throw distance. For the application given here to extinguish fat burns, however, this circumstance is of no importance.

Due to the particular configuration of the nozzle of the fat-burning extinguisher according to the invention, as shown in Figs. 1 to 3, a very finely atomized becomes more uniform Spray jet with a diameter of about 40 cm generated that quickly forms a dense extinguishing agent layer over the fire and causes with little use of extinguishing a suffocation of the fire and rapid cooling of the fire.
