Description

The invention relates to a device for producing multi-part printed products according to the preamble of the independent claims.

From EP 0 095 603 a device for collecting folded printed products is known. This has a plurality of saddle-shaped pads, which are arranged ladder rung-like on two parallel, each circulating in a vertical plane conveyor chains. Along the conveying-effective upper run, several feed points are connected downstream of one another, on which folded printed sheets are placed astride the supports, the last printed sheet forming the outer part of the end product. At the end of the conveyor line, the end products are removed at a sampling point and conveyed away. The intended for processing saddle-shaped pads are directed vertically upwards.

From EP 0 218 872 a device for gathering printed products is known. This has a plurality of pocket-shaped receiving parts, which are arranged transversely to the direction of rotation on a in a plane carousel-like circumferential conveyor chain. Along the conveyor-effective route several supply points are provided, at which printed products are introduced into the receiving parts. At the end of the conveying-effective route, the printed products thus collected into a multi-part end product, arranged side by side in the receiving parts, are transferred by opening the bottom of the receiving parts of a further processing station. The collated printed products do not have a folded outer part within which the other printed products, the inner parts, are arranged.

Drum-shaped collecting devices are known from the prior art. In these, a printed product is fed to, in each case in the axial direction of the drum staggered feed. During one revolution of the drum, the printed product is conveyed forward to the subsequent feed location, where another printed product is inserted into a preceding one or placed astride it. At a subsequent sampling point are the printed products finally removed from the drum and optionally supplied to further processing steps.

From CH 584 153, for example, such a drum-shaped device for inserting printed products is known. At a first feed point, a first folded printed product, with its fold forward, is introduced into a pocket-shaped receiving part of the drum-shaped device, which can be referred to as collecting drum or feeder. In the course of one revolution of the collecting drum, the printed product is opened and conveyed by means of cam-controlled lifting elements to the next, offset in the axial direction of feed. At this feed point, another, folded printed product is inserted into the first opened printed product, wherein in each case the inserted printed products come to lie side by side. Further printed products are inserted at further downstream feed stations. The end products thus formed have a first supplied outside and at least one inner part inserted therein. Each cell of the collecting drum has its associated backdrop-controlled lifting elements for advancing the inserted printed products. The printed products are guided on their way from feed point to feed point by the superposition of the longitudinal movement and the drum rotation on a substantially helical or helical path along the collection drum. Since the individual printed products pass virtually the entire length of the cells, the cells must not be interrupted.

Die Druckprodukte werden mittels kulissengesteuerten Hubelementen entlang der Trommel auf einer wendel-, respektive schraubenlinienförmigen Bewegungsbahn geführt.EP 0 354 343 discloses a method and a device for producing multipart printed products, in which an outer part is placed astride a variable inner part at the end of a non-exclusive collecting process with the open side edge ("flower"). The device disclosed therein has receiving parts with a bottom and lateral Abstützorgane that project slightly beyond the side edge of the inner parts, and supply points for outer and one or more inner parts, wherein the feed point for the outer part is formed so that the outer part astride the Flower is laid ahead over the inner part. These receiving parts have pocket-shaped compartments with separating partitions in a drum-shaped embodiment. Each receiving part has a transport member, which acts in the longitudinal direction of the receiving parts and further promotes by temporarily holding the inner parts and / or the outer part to the respective next feed or removal point. The printed products be guided by means of gate-controlled lifting elements along the drum on a helical, respectively helical trajectory.

From CH 667 621 a collection device is known, which starts from the "clothesline principle". By means of landing stations folded printed products are stored with their front side in the conveying direction on rotating collecting lines. The printed products are conveyed by drivers along the collection line. In order to obtain a certain capacity, several collection lines must be arranged side by side, which rotate about an axis, resulting in a relatively complicated structure.

The device has along a conveyor organ carousel-like in a plane encircling support elements. The support elements are arranged with respect to the direction of rotation of the conveying member at an acute angle. By means of appropriately arranged feeding flat products are transferred to the support elements. Since the conveying direction of the feeders does not coincide with the direction of rotation of the conveying member, the flat products undergo a deflection in the lateral direction during the transfer.

The device has a rail system arranged essentially in one plane, along which individual conveying elements are arranged freely movable one behind the other. Each conveyor element has a support element arranged in the manner of a cantilever with a vertically upwardly directed saddle on which printed products deposited thereon are transported by gravity. The printed products are conveyed through stations arranged in linear succession. Although the rail system may have certain slopes, e.g. a about Kopfförderung the printed products not possible, since no corresponding holding means are provided.

Weiterhin zeigt die EP 0 828 190 eine fördertechnische Vorrichtung gemäß dem Oberbegriff des Anspruchs 1.Furthermore, EP 0 828 190 shows a conveying apparatus according to the preamble of claim 1.

Although the prior art devices based on a collection drum are extremely powerful, they have a relatively complex, rigid construction. Devices with ladder-like or carousel-like circumferential vertically aligned With ladder-rung-like or carousel-like, vertically oriented saddles, as a matter of principle, have a space-intensive construction or a low conveying density.

Systems for collecting, collating or inserting printed products designed for high performance have today established systems based on drums in which the printed products are guided on spatial, substantially helical or helical trajectories during processing. These helical or helical trajectories are generated in the devices known from the prior art by superimposing a rotational movement with a translational movement. The spatial movement paths make it possible for the printed products to be processed to be conveyed by means of adjacent feed conveyors substantially perpendicular to the axial direction of the drum. The superiority of the devices based on this principle is due, inter alia, to the fact that during the transfer of the printed products to the cell wheel, they are not subject to any abrupt change of direction and are processed continuously. As a result, even at high processing speeds, there is enough time to feed the printed products to be processed. The high power density of these devices is achieved by moving the printed products along the drum in a substantially helical or helical path transverse to their side edges. For the movement in both the circumferential direction and in the axial direction of the drum, however, a relatively complicated construction is necessary. The occurring at rotating waves from a certain wavelength vibration and storage problems also lead to a limited overall length.

It is an object of the invention to provide an apparatus for collecting, collating or inserting printed products which has a simple structure and high performance.

The object is solved by the invention as defined by the characterizing part of the independent claims.

The invention disclosed here, in addition to a very simple structure, the advantage that printed products on optimized for processing, spatially curved, helical or helical paths can be performed. The tracks are in several directions curved and rotated as needed so that the printed products are simultaneously rotatable about the longitudinal axis of the web. By the invention extremely compact devices can be realized, which offer maximum flexibility and high processing density. On the other hand, the disadvantages inherent in the prior art based on collecting drums, namely relatively expensive construction and, due to the complicated storage, limited length, are avoided. The invention offers the possibility of at least partially replacing existing systems by simulating their functionality.

Specially designed conveying means, which are used for collecting, collating and / or inserting printed products, are guided at least in the processing area by appropriately designed guide means along spatially curved in several directions in space, closed or open trajectories in multiple levels. The device according to the invention is designed such that the printed products can also be conveyed against gravity, that is, overhead. For this purpose, the conveying means on holding means or cooperate with such. The holding means are, for example, blocking or clamping elements (flaps, clamps, clamps, holding arms), which specifically prevent falling out of the printed products located in the region of the device. The printed products have a variable orientation to each other during circulation or they are at least partially aligned parallel to each other. Alternatively or in addition external holding means, that is holding means that are not part of a conveyor, are used. It is e.g. endlessly revolving tensioning straps or suitably arranged guide or guide plates.

The guide means preferably have a modular structure and are operatively connected to each other via standardized interfaces or switchable points. The conveying means have a given or a variable distance to each other on their way along the trajectories and, depending on the embodiment, positively or frictionally coupled directly or indirectly via a drive means.

The moving along a guide means conveying means, depending on the, a suitably designed support member, a clamp or gripper, bag, saddle or a combination thereof. The conveying means are preferably designed so that they simultaneously or alternatively allow collection, collation, insertion or stapling. The conveyor usually includes a sheet metal element and / or a saddle, which serve to support folded printed products. An embodiment of conveying means includes pockets which are used in particular for inserting or collating printed products. Another type of conveyor includes a shelf used to collect and support printed products. The conveyors are usually fed vertically or horizontally. If necessary, holding means are provided which prevent the products being conveyed from falling out.

Suitable guide means are appropriately trained rails or channels. The conveying means are guided or driven on one or more sides along the movement paths curved spatially in several planes defined by the rails or channels. It is not excluded that the guide means at least partially has no curvature or is curved only in one spatial direction. Instead of only one, if necessary, at least along certain sections, a plurality of guide means may be provided which supported, lead or take over the funding on several sides. Thereby there is e.g. the possibility to absorb high processing forces or to guarantee a particularly precise guidance.

If necessary, the conveying means themselves have a variable geometry or orientation, so that they can be adjusted with respect to the guide means in spacing and alignment and / or largely independently of format and / or for opening folded printed products, e.g. by lateral grooving, are usable.

By at least partially helically or helically configured guide means, the funding and thus the printed products are guided on spatial paths in several levels. By a corresponding configuration of the guide means there is also the possibility of aligning the conveying means about the longitudinal axis of the guide means, so that further functional movement patterns, with an optimal orientation for the process, result. Especially with strong changes of direction, it is advantageous to move the funding on the outside of the radius. If necessary, the conveying means are arranged adjustable relative to the guide means about at least one further axis. In the transfer area of a feed conveyor, the conveying means are aligned so as to assist in opening a folded printed product.

The feeding of the conveyor preferably takes place on more than one level. The invention allows, by the appropriate design and arrangement of the guide means, a variety of optimized to the particular application trajectories. It is possible to replicate the trajectories of the guide means exactly the known from the cell wheels trajectories of the printed products, so that conventional devices are easily substitutable. It is also possible to design the trajectory in the form of an ovalized or partially flattened helix. Furthermore, it is possible to design the helix with a constant or variable pitch and radius, so that a variety of processing steps is possible by means of the same device or a device based on the same functional principle.

The conveyors moved along the guide means are fed from below, above or from the side with printed products. In the area of a spiral or in an outboard section, the collected printed products are stapled if necessary. The conveying means for this purpose, if necessary active or passive Umbiegemel for staples. The guide means has a straight, concave or convex configuration, which is matched to the path of the stapling device (stitching heads).

As a guide means correspondingly designed flexible or rigid guide channels have proven useful in which the funding by pushing, pulling or own drive form and / or are frictionally driven. The cross-section of the guide channels, rails is preferably one or more cells configured and has, if necessary along at least one edge or surface on a gap-shaped opening, which is used for interaction with a located inside a channel drive means. In certain embodiments, the conveying means have a bearing means (inner rotor) arranged in the interior of a guide channel, which is designed such that the guide means is displaceable at least in the longitudinal direction of the guide channel. In other embodiments with rail-shaped guide means, the bearing means engage around the guide means at least partially (outer rotor). The bearing means have roller, ball or sliding bearings and can be directly or indirectly operatively connected to each other. In some of the channel cells, a circulating conveying element, for example in the form of a chain or a rope, which serves for the continuous driving of the conveying means, is arranged in sections or as a whole if required.

The guide means may be formed by a rail having a substantially straight portion, along which the feed points are arranged, and deflection portions, where the conveying means are deflected to be transferred to a return path or the straight portion. This rail can also be helical and the return area can have a different geometry. Alternatively, e.g. the counter-body have a double helix-like structure, with both helical curves of the forward promotion serve, or even the one way and the other the way back. The provision of a special return path can be avoided by moving the conveying elements along their path in a stroke-like manner. exercise a forward and then backward movement for a certain period of time. Even in this case, a double helical track can offer advantages, e.g. a compact design is achievable.

The inventive device has the advantage that from comparatively few different components different devices can be realized, which fulfill a variety of function. By selectively repeatedly using the same elements, the device is much easier to manufacture and maintain.

Figure 1 shows a conventional apparatus with a drum 100 for collecting, collating or inserting printed products. The drum 100 has distributed on its periphery saddles 101, which serve to receive feed conveyed by means of feeders 102 Durckereierzeugnissen (not shown in detail). The printed products deposited on the saddles 101 are moved from one to the next feed conveyor 102 along the drum 100 by means of involute-controlled lifting elements arranged on or between the saddles 100. Due to the rotational movement of the drum 100 and its superimposed movement of the printed products in the drum longitudinal direction, they describe during the processing process, a substantially helical, respectively helical path 103 along the drum. At the end of the drum, the end product, which consists of several printed products, is removed by a removal device and led away. An additional workstation 104, such as a conventional stationary or rotary stapler, is provided in the rear portion of this drum 100.

FIG. 2 schematically shows an embodiment of a conveyor-type device 1 for collecting, collating and / or inserting printed products 2 in a perspective view. The conveying apparatus 1 is suitable for processing printed products, in particular folded printed products.

Along a guide means 3 conveying means 4 are arranged in a defined or variable distance. The conveying means 4 have support elements 14 arranged in the manner of a lattice which serve to receive the printed products 2. The guide means 3 has a curved in several spatial directions, substantially helical or helical portion 6, the ends of which are connected via an outer return 7 together to form a closed circular path. The schematic axis of the helical section 6 is provided with a dash-dotted line A indicated. Alternatively, the return can also be arranged in the interior of the coil 6. The device according to the invention offers the advantage that up to now unavailable space can be used. In conventional drum-based devices, space inside the drum is filled with device components and therefore can not be used. It is possible to realize very compact, length-independent and robust devices with a simple structure. The vibration problems inherent in the prior art are avoided. Instead of just one, if necessary, at least in regions, two helical or helical sections can be arranged next to or around each other to define the angle and orientation of the conveyor elements.

By means of a drive means 5 acting on the entire circumference or only in sections, the conveying means 4 are driven along the guide means 3. The direct or indirect transmission of the driving force of the conveyor 4 is preferably carried out by pulling or poking. The conveying means 4 can be operatively connected to each other directly or indirectly for this purpose. Preference is given to conveying means 4, which by means of circulating conveyor members 5, e.g. Chains or ropes are driven. The at least one circulating conveying member 5 acts on the entire circumference of the guide means 3 or only in sections. If necessary, switches 3.1 are present, which serve for the active connection of further guide means 9 or for connecting external devices. The switches 3.1 are arranged in the embodiment shown in the region of the return line 7. If necessary, interfaces can be arranged in the region of the helical section, in particular between the individual flights of a helix, so that an individualized further processing is possible.

The conveying means 4 are used for collating, collecting and / or inserting printed products 2. For this purpose, the printed products 2 are conveyed in the conveying direction F by means of feed conveyors 16 arranged in parallel planes to one another and transferred to the conveying means 4. The feeders 16 shown have circumferential, equipped with grippers 17 link chains on, by means of which the printed products 2 are conveyed by hanging and transferred to the support elements 14 of the conveyor 4. The term feeder is understood in a broader sense. This means that of course, if appropriate, other feeders can be used alternatively or in addition, where the printed products for example, lying on a conveyor belt, isolated or in the form of a scale flow, be conveyed. In the effective range of the feed conveyor 16, a printed product 2 is transferred directly to the conveyor 4, inserted into previous printed products 2, collected with such or stored on such. The distance of the conveyor 4 corresponds to the distance of the supplied printed products 2 in the effective range of the feed conveyor 16 or is tuned to this. Alternatively, the distance of the gripper 17 can be matched to the conveyor 4. The conveying means 4 are guided successively along the guide means 3 into the effective regions of the feed conveyor 16. The guide means 3 is configured such that the conveying means 4 moved along the guide means 3 in the effective region of the feed conveyor 16 have a direction which is optimally matched to the feed direction of the printed products. As can be seen, the conveying means 4 have a variable, location-dependent orientation relative to the guide means 3.

The conveying means 4 are held on one side in the arrangement shown. If necessary, they may be additionally stored or guided, at least in certain areas, e.g. Great forces, as they occur during stapling, better absorb. Such additional guidance is suitable for adjusting the distance between conveyors.

In the embodiment shown, the printed products 2 are fed in the upper apex region of the helical section 6. Alternatively or in addition, the printed products 2 can also be supplied to another location. For insertion, for example, the lower apex portion of a helical section is suitable. A corresponding insertion device 32 is arranged radially inward in the spiral-shaped section 6 for this purpose. The conveying apparatus 1 has the advantage that, among other things in the area of the return 7 further processing steps are possible. In the apparatus shown here, a stapling device 8 is shown as an example. To save space, for example, the stapling device 8 may also be arranged in the interior of the helix 6. By means of a removal device 10, consisting of several printed products end products 11 are removed and led away. Unlike the drum-based devices of the same power class known from the prior art, the device disclosed here offers the advantage that it has a comparatively simpler design. Even the helical portion 6 of the guide means 3 may be formed as a repeating portion if necessary. The length Furthermore, the conveyor-technical device 1 is not limited by the storage problems inherent in the prior art, since the guide means does not require any central thrust bearings.

FIG. 3 schematically shows a section of the essentially helical section 6 from FIG. 2 in a side view. The guide means 3 has a helical configuration with variable pitch. In particular, in the region of the feed conveyor 16 (only one shown), the guide means 3 has an orientation which is aligned with the conveying direction F of the feed conveyor 16. In the embodiment shown, the guide means 3 in the region of the feed conveyor 16 no axial slope, but extends substantially in a tangential plane, respectively perpendicular to the helix axis A. Due to the spatial curvature and orientation of the guide means 3 in the longitudinal direction A, the position and Alignment of the conveyor 4 optimally adaptable. In the region of the feed conveyor 16, the guide means 3 has a straight, convex or concave shape, which is tuned to an optimized transfer of the supplied printed products. For example, it is possible to guide the conveyor 4 in the region of the feed conveyor 16 on a straight line. In contrast to the known from the prior art devices that are based on a drum or Flügelradähnlichen device, the principle of operation disclosed here allows a very easy adaptability of the conveyor technical device 1 to external, especially spatial conditions. The conveying means 4 and with them the printed products are guided on flowing webs, without disadvantageous deflections. Sharp changes of direction, as are unavoidable in certain devices known from the prior art, do not adhere to the device according to the invention. As a result of the preferably modular structure, it can be the device 1 expand or supplement as required.

These are held by a plurality of conveying means 4 so that their narrow sides are substantially parallel to the helical path 6. If necessary, it is also possible to align the printed sheets 2 each so that their fold lines are directed parallel to the helix axis A. This is preferably achieved in that the conveying elements are rotatably or pivotally connected. In particular, stabilizing separating elements can be provided here, which can be suspended separately or connected to the conveying elements 4.

Trennbleche, usw. (vgl. Figur 4).The printed products 2 are temporarily fixed in the lower region of the helix 6 by holding means 12, so that they do not fall unintentionally from the conveying means 4. The holding means 12 are either, as shown, external elements or they are part of the conveyor 4 (clamping elements, straps, flaps). Combinations are possible. The holding means 12 shown are circumferential bands or belts which are elastically stretched over the saddles 13 of the conveying means 4 and thus prevent the printed products 4 from falling therefrom. A lateral boundary results from the conveying elements 4 themselves or by further means, e.g. Dividers, etc. (see Figure 4).

FIG. 4 shows a part of a further embodiment of a conveying apparatus 1 in the region of a feed conveyor 16. In a perspective illustration, a section of a substantially helically formed guiding means 3 is shown. The further course of the guide means 3 is illustrated by a dashed line. The guide means 3 is a spatially curved guide channel 3, which has a C-shaped cross-section. The conveying means 4 are held in their area opposite their saddles by a bearing means 15 arranged in the interior of the guide channel 3, which serves to support and guide the conveying means 4 (inner rotor). In the embodiment shown, the bearing means are chain-link-like and operatively connected to each other in the conveying direction G, so that they simultaneously serve to transmit the driving force. The bearing means 15 are guided relative to the guide channel 3 by roller, ball or sliding bearings. The orientation of the guide channel 3 decisively determines the orientation of the conveyor 4 and thus the printed products 2 thereon.
In the embodiment shown, the conveying means 4 a separating plate 18 which is held at the lower end by a bearing means 15. The separating plates 18 serve for the lateral guidance of the printed products 2, in particular if they are transported overhead. The separating plates 18 are arranged substantially perpendicular to the guide means 3 and each have at the upper end a saddle 19 for the rittling recording of folded printed products 2. At the lower end of each separating plate 18 is a board 20 which serves as an alternative or in addition to receiving collated and / or inserted printed products (not shown in detail). The conveyor 4 has, if necessary, clamps or other internal or external means which prevent falling out of the collected, inserted and / or compressed printed products. Internal clamping means are operated, for example, controlled by scenes.

By means of grippers 17 of a feed conveyor 16 folded sheets 2 are conveyed in the conveying direction F suspended. Alternative feed methods are possible. The folded sheets 2 are held by the gripper 17 at the fold 21.1 and moved with hanging flower 21 in the direction of the conveyor 4. The separating plates 18 are guided along the guide means 3 so that they engage by lateral piercing between the two forming the flower 21 side parts of the folded printed product 2 and open it. The device is preferably designed such that it acts on a possibly present prefolded fold. Alternatively or in addition, means for opening multi-layer printed products may be provided. If necessary, it is possible to arrange the conveying means 4 laterally (see arrow E), vertically (cf., arrow H) so as to be displaceable or rotatable about a vertical axis D in order to achieve optimum processing. By a vertical adjustability of the distance of the saddle 19 relative to the board 20, respectively, the grippers 17 of the feed conveyor 16, the device 1 is adjustable to different formats of printed products.

FIG. 5 shows a section of a further embodiment of a conveying apparatus 1. The conveying means 4 have a separating plate 18 with a saddle 19 and an opposite board 20. The conveyor 4 is here connected laterally in the region of the saddle 19 with a bearing means 15, which surrounds a rail-shaped guide means 21. The guide rail 21 has a foot plate 22, a web 23 and a slotted guide tube 24. The outer surfaces of the web 23 and the guide tube 24 serve as a guide surface for the bearing means 15. The bearing means 15 is slidably mounted along the guide means 21. In the interior of the guide tube 24, a drive means 25 is provided which serves to drive the conveyor 4. The guide tube 24 has a longitudinal slot-shaped opening 26, in which pins 27 of a drive means 25 are arranged. The pins 27 serve to transmit a driving force to the conveying means 4. The drive means 25 is a circulating conveying member in the form of a chain or a rope. The driving force is transmitted to the conveyor 4 by mechanical engagement. The conveyor 4 are flexibly connected to the guide means or decoupled.

The conveying means 4 are, at least in certain embodiments, movably arranged about a first and / or about a second axis S, T, so that they meet specific requirements in terms of angle and orientation. The alignment with respect to at least one of the two axes S, T, for example, by the guide means 21, forcibly controlled or by external forces, such as gravity, centrifugal force or reaction forces, be determined. For example, it is possible to design the conveyor 4 so that they align themselves by gravity. By a suitable configuration and arrangement of the guide means 3, in particular in which the conveying means 4 are individually actively aligned about the longitudinal axis T of the guide means 3, a high packing density is achieved without the individual conveying means 4 hindering each other. By the rotation of the guide means 3 about its longitudinal axis T, the local orientation of the conveyor 4 relative to the guide means 3, respectively the substrate can be defined. In the case of self-aligning conveying means 4 which are self-aligning with gravity, vertically upwardly extending guide means 3 may have a negative effect on the packing density. An individual orientation of the conveying means 4 about the longitudinal axis T of the guide means 3 can reduce this problem.

6 shows a detail of a further embodiment of a conveying apparatus 1. The conveying means 4 are operatively connected to a rail-shaped guide means 3 and have a drive in the form of a motor (not shown in detail) on. The conveying means 4 are individually displaceable and thus allow flexible processing and compilation of the end product.

The drives are preferably inexpensive linear motors are used, which have no moving parts, but their driving force via piezoelectrically activated vibrating elements, by suitable frequency-dependent oscillation patterns in the ultrasonic range, generate. The drive energy and control commands are preferably transmitted via the guide rail 21 in the low-voltage range.

The conveying means 4 have a separating plate 18 with a saddle 19 and a board 20 and are held laterally. Printed products 2 located on the conveyor 4 are fixed by holding means in the form of bow-shaped clamping means 26.

FIG. 7 shows a section of a conveyor-type device 1. In the interior of a single-celled guide channel 3, bearing means 15 mounted in two spatial directions by means of rollers 33 are arranged, which are displaceable along the guide channel 3. At the bearing means 15 are holding rods 34 arranged to serve for holding a support member 14. The support element 14 has a saddle 19, to whose two sides each a separating plate 18 extends. At the end opposite the saddle 19, each separating plate 18 has a board 20 which can be used for collecting or gathering printed products 2 and can be made adjustable in height, spacing and orientation, in particular with respect to the guide means 3. Holding means, in the form of brackets 35, are arranged laterally deployable and are used for temporarily holding on the support member 14, respectively the saddle 19 arranged printed products 2 by these are pressed by means of springs 28 against the separating elements 14. By means of a lever mechanism 29, the bracket 35 can be issued laterally. In the deployed position, the brackets 35 preferably have a funnel-shaped characteristic that positively supports a reception of printed products 2. Instead of a bow-shaped configuration, the holding means 35 can also be configured flat (eg, sheet metal part) and completely or partially enclose the printed products 2 or have a plurality of interaction points with them. In the region of the saddle 19, a folding device 30 is arranged, which serves for bending over staples (not shown in detail). The Umbiegevorrichtung is preferably arranged adjustable relative to the saddle. At the outer end of the saddle 19, a guide roller 31 is arranged, which serves for supporting and guiding the support element 14. The holding means 15 and / or the folding device 30 are preferably controlled by involutes. The conveying means 4 are preferably configured independently of format. Other embodiments will become apparent to those skilled in the art by a combination of the features of the described embodiments.
