Abstract

The micro-switch has a fixed stopper (16) to act as a support point to a pin (41). The stopper (16) and another stopper prevent a flexible conductor blade (40) from establishing an electrical connection with terminals (14, 12), respectively. The blade has a functional parametering unit having two pins (41) that co-operate with respective stoppers (16) to permit the micro-switch to function as inverter, contact breaker or contactor.

Description

DOMAINE TECHNIQUE DE L'INVENTIONTECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The invention relates to a microswitch, that is to say a device of reduced dimensions ensuring a switching function of an electric current.

ETAT DE LA TECHNIQUESTATE OF THE ART

The microswitches are frequently used in many fields of activity using switching functions of an electric current, such as automotive or household appliances. Depending on the function performed, these may be contactors that establish an electric current when they are actuated, breakers that cut an electric current when they are actuated, or inverters that switch two electric currents depending on whether they are in their state of rest or their actuated state.

The invention relates to microswitches comprising a housing consisting of a base part, from which project several electrical terminals and a lid part, not shown; housing in which is placed a sudden break mechanism which provides the switching function corresponding to a contactor, a breaker or an inverter depending on the application. Such a microswitch according to the state of the art is for example described in the documents DE19834888, US5181603 or EP0789373.

In existing microswitches, functional differentiation is performed early in the manufacturing process. In particular, it frequently happens that some of the terminals protruding from the base part of the housing are removed. In the same way it is common that the mechanisms of sudden failure are different depending on the function that the microswitch must provide.

EXPOSE DE L'INVENTIONSUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The invention therefore aims to overcome the disadvantages of microswitches according to the state of the art, allowing a later functional differentiation in the manufacturing process, and a lower structural differentiation, thanks to a large number of common parts devices ensuring the different functions.

For this purpose, the subject of the invention is an electric microswitch according to the first claim.

According to particular embodiments, the functional parameterization means comprise a single lug or comprise no lug so that the microswitch performs the function of switch, contactor or inverter.

According to a particularly advantageous mode, the functional parameterization means comprise two lugs intended to bear respectively on the first and the second fixed stops, at least one of the two being removed to allow the microswitch to function as a contactor, as a breaker or as inverter.

Optionally, at least one electronic component is mounted on the surface of the microswitch according to the invention or housed inside the microswitch according to the invention, and electrically connected directly between two adjacent terminals.

DESCRIPTION DETAILLEE D'UN MODE DE REALISATIONDETAILED DESCRIPTION OF AN EMBODIMENT

Figure 1 shows a first embodiment of a microswitch according to the invention. The microswitch comprises a housing comprising a base portion (10) from which a plurality of electrical terminals (11, 12, 14) and a cover portion (20) projecting, not shown, protrude.

A snap mechanism is placed in the housing and provides the switching function corresponding to a contactor, a breaker or an inverter depending on the application. This switching mechanism conventionally comprises a flexible conductive blade (40) having a tongue (45) subjected to substantially longitudinal prestressing. Depending on the position of the microswitch, the blade makes it possible to establish an electrical connection between a terminal (11) and one of the two other terminals (12) and (14). The particular structure of the microswitch shown in Figure 1 is the subject of a separate patent application but is not exhaustive, the invention can be implemented in any type of microswitch according to the prior art.

Conventionally, the conductive blade (40) comprises a movable portion provided with one or more contact zones that may optionally have undergone a particular surface treatment, or even be provided with attached contact pieces, the contact zone or zones being intended to enter. in mechanical and electrical contact with one or more fixed contacts electrically connected to the terminals (12, 14) projecting from the base housing part.

Thus, if the microswitch is to provide an inverter function between a switched position and a rest position, the conductive blade (40) will be provided with a contact zone for establishing a mechanical and electrical contact with a first connected fixed contact. electrically to a first terminal (12) projecting from the base housing part (10), and a contact area for making mechanical and electrical contact with a second contact electrically connected to a second terminal (14). If the microswitch provides a switch or contactor function respectively to interrupt or establish an electrical connection in the actuated position, the flexible blade (40) will carry only one contact zone on one of its faces, intended to establish a mechanical and electrical contact with a fixed contact electrically connected to one of the terminals (12, 14), respectively in the rest position and the switched position of the microswitch.

De même, il n'y a pas de contact fixe relié à la seconde borne (14).Figures 1 to 3 show a microswitch according to the invention providing a switch function. Thus, the movable portion of the flexible conductive blade (40) is intended to come into mechanical and electrical contact only with a single fixed contact (72) electrically connected to one of the terminals (12). In FIGS. 1 and 3, it can be seen that the movable portion of the flexible conductive blade is provided with an insert contact piece (49) intended to come into mechanical and electrical contact with the fixed contact (72), according to a method of preferential embodiment. Since the flexible conductive blade (40) is not intended to make contact with the other terminal (14), its surface closest to the base housing part is neither treated nor provided with a piece of reported contact. Similarly, there is no fixed contact connected to the second terminal (14).

According to the invention, the base housing portions (10) and the cover housing portion (20) are both provided with fixed stops (16, 26), and the flexible conductive blade (40) of the snap mechanism includes functional setting means cooperating with the stop (16) of the base housing part (10) and the stop (26) of the cover housing part (20) to allow the microswitch to function as an inverter, breaker or contactor. Each abutment (16, 26) is intended to cooperate with a lug (41, 42) present on the conductive blade and is designed - in such a way that when the lug (41, 42) bears against the abutment (16, 26), there can be no electrical contact between the flexible conductive blade (40) and a conductive portion of a terminal (14, 12) which would be close to the considered housing part (10, 20).

Thus the functional parameterization means comprise two lugs (41, 42), the first (41) intended to cooperate with the first fixed stop (16) and the second (42) intended to cooperate with the second fixed stop (26). Naturally, the simultaneous presence of two lugs (41, 42) would prevent the conductive blade to make contact with the corresponding terminals (14, 12), and the device could no longer provide function. This is why one of the pins (41, 42) of the functional parameterization means is removed when the microswitch is to function as a switch or as a contactor, the two lugs being removed if the microswitch is to function as inverter.

By way of example, the functional parameterization means of the device represented in FIGS. 1 to 4 comprise a lug (41) which bears against the fixed stop (16) of the base housing part (10) while preventing and the conductive blade (40) to establish a possible electrical contact with the terminal (14). On the other hand, the functional parameterization means do not comprise a second lug (42) intended to bear against the fixed abutment (26) of the lid-forming housing part (20), so that the insert contact piece (49) ) on the movable portion of the flexible conductive blade (40) can come into mechanical and electrical contact with the fixed contact (72). The microswitch in the rest position thus provides an electrical connection between the terminals (11) and (12), which connection is interrupted when the microswitch switches to the switched position. The microswitch provides a good breaker function.

It is thus possible according to the invention to use base housing parts (10) and cover housing parts (20) of identical shape regardless of the function provided by the microswitch. In particular, it is always possible to have three terminals (11, 12, 14) protruding from the base housing part (10). The functional differentiation is effected at the level of the conductive blade (40) by removing one of the lugs (41, 42) to respectively provide the function of contactor or breaker or by removing the two lugs (41, 42 ) to perform the function of inverter. Each contact zone can be treated or provided with a reported contact piece, traditionally, either on the conductive blade (40) or on the fixed parts electrically connected to the terminals (12, 14).

Therefore, for a family of microswitches providing the functions of switch, contactor or inverter, the invention makes it possible to have a single model of base housing part (10) having a fixed stop (16), a single model cover housing portion (20) also having a fixed stop (26) and a single model of snap mechanism comprising a flexible conductive blade (40) having two lugs (41, 42), the functional differentiation occurring late during the manufacturing process by removing one of the pins or the two pins of the conductive blade (40). In this way the industrialization of the product is simplified, the number of different parts is reduced and therefore the management costs of these parts is also reduced.

Indeed, microswitches are generally used in conjunction with electrical or electronic components to form more complex functions. The dimensions of the microswitches make it possible to mount the components directly on the surface of the housing or inside the housing, by electrically connecting them to the terminals. However, microswitches according to the prior art have differentiated bases according to the function provided. In particular, there are only two terminals protruding when the function of contactor or breaker is ensured. The fact of having available the three terminals (11, 12, 14), regardless of the function provided by the microswitch and including in the case where one of them is not used and therefore is isolated electrically, allows to perform a very large number of electronic functions simply by surface mounting or internal housing components electrically connected between the terminals (11) and (14) and / or the terminals (12) and (14). The microswitch is connected to its application by the terminals (11 and 14) or (21 and 14) or (11 and 12) or (11, 12 and 14).

Thus Figures 5a, 6a, 7a and 8a show schematically a microswitch according to the invention on which is mounted on the surface or housed inside a single electronic component electrically connected between two adjacent terminals. Figures 5b, 6b, 7b and 8b show the corresponding electronic scheme when the component is a resistor. Note that the three terminals (11, 12, 14) are used to realize the assembly electronics, but not all are intended to be connected to external elements.

Dans les deux exemples représentés, le minirupteur assure la fonction de rupteurFigures 9a and 10a serve to illustrate the possibilities of mounting on the surface or to house within a microswitch according to the invention two electronic components. In the two examples shown, the microswitch provides the function of breaker

Finally, FIGS. 11c and 12c show examples in which non-linear components are surface-mounted or housed inside the microswitch according to the invention.

Figures 5 to 12 are of course not limiting but allow to illustrate by way of example the many possibilities offered by microswitches according to the invention to produce electronic circuits by surface mounting or inner housing components directly electrically connected on the adjacent terminals (11, 12, 14) since they are always present regardless of the function provided by the microswitch.
