If the connection is damaged, water, dust and mud are allowed in the piston rear area (18), causing abrasion of the guide ring (23) and the sealing element (22) and sealing is harmed. Moreover, water and abrasives in the vehicle causes the power spring (25), whose duty is to keep the vehicle parked, to rust and to get damaged sooner. If such a situation occurs, the spring brake actuator, which is of vital importance, needs to be repaired or replaced immediately.

Abstract
La présente invention a pour objectif de réduire les pannes du cylindre au moyen d'un système de ventilation interne incorporé dans les cylindres de frein à ressort à diaphragme/piston utilisés dans des véhicules tels que les camions, les bus et les remorques. Le cylindre de frein à ressort à diaphragme/piston à ventilation interne est constitué des éléments principaux suivants: un piston (1) en aluminium, un tube (2) en aluminium, une chambre (3) à ressort, une chambre (5) de service, une soupape (6) à piston, un joint torique (8) de soupape à piston, une bille d'acier (9) de soupape à piston, un orifice (10) d'échappement, un orifice (11) d'entrée d'air, un passage (12) pour l'air, un obturateur (13), des orifices (14) d'entrée d'air, un moyen d'étanchéité (15), un alésage (16) d'échappement et un joint torique (17) pour l'air sous pression.
