Abstract

The invention concerning a press fitting head (10) which positions roughly L-shaped leg contacts (21,22) of a connector (20) having multiple rows of said contacts equipped with shoulders and press fit sections provided near their lower ends. The head (10) reliably press-fits the press-fit sections into a substrate (30). The invention also concerns an apparatus equipped with the press fitting head (10), and a method for press fitting. The head (10) is equipped with abutment sections which abut the shoulders, and lateral and longitudinal positioning walls which respectively position the shoulders in lateral and longitudinal directions.
