Claims (8)

  1. An electrical connector (1) comprising
    a body (2) in which there has been made a hole (6) that is defined by a wall (7) extending longitudinally with respect to an axis (9) of said connector, said wall forming a shoulder (5) and having at least one groove (4) therein, said groove comprising a chamfered surface portion (14),
    an insert (3) for insertion into the hole of the body, said insert being provided with at least one elastic positioning means (10) forming at least one tongue (10), characterized in that
    said tongue forms a bevelled end (13) and
    said insert and said body cooperate during insertion of the insert into the hole of the body longitudinally with respect to the axis of the connector so that the insert is placed so as to fit against the shoulder of the body on the one side and against the chamfered surface portion on the other side by having the bevelled end fitting against the chamfered surface portion of the groove.
  2. The connector as set forth in claim 1, characterized in that
    the insert is defined by a surface (11) through which said insert is intended to position itself opposite the wall of the body and
    the elastic positioning means forms at least one retractable tongue (10) formed into the surface of the insert while defining a depression (12) mating with said tongue.
  3. The connector as set forth in claim 2, characterized in that
    the tongue is allowed to fold down into the depression as the insert is displaced along the wall of the body and
    the tongue is allowed to come free from the depression while moving apart from the axis of the connector when the tongue is located opposite the groove or outside of the body.
  4. The connector as set forth in any one of the claims 1 through 3, characterized in that the elastic positioning means is partially annular.
  5. The connector as set forth in any one of the claims 1 through 4, characterized in that the groove is at least partially annular.
  6. The connector as set forth in any one of the claims 1 through 5, characterized in that
    the groove is preferably partially annular and
    the groove is made such that the elastic positioning means is inserted so as to mate with the groove.
  7. The connector as set forth in any one of the claims 1 through 6, characterized in that the insert is made from plastic material.
  8. A method of assembling an electrical connector (1) as set forth in claim 1, comprising
    a body (2) in which there has been made a hole (6) that is defined by a wall (7) extending longitudinally with respect to an axis (9) of the connector, said wall forming a shoulder (5) and
    an insert (3) for insertion into the hole of the body, said insert being provided with at least one elastic positioning means forming at least one tongue (10),
    characterized in that
    said insert is positioned inside the hole of the body until the insert fits against the shoulder (5) of the body (2) and until at least one tongue (10) is received in a groove (4) formed in the wall of the body, so that one bevelled end (13) of the tongue (10) fits against a chamfered surface portion (14) of the groove.
