Dadurch kann das Getriebe und das dafür vorgesehene Spritzgussstück im Schlossgehäuse zwischen Schließzylinder und Schubstange immer gleich bleiben, lediglich die kinematische Verbindung zwischen dem Getriebe und der Verzahnung der Schubstange bzw. des Schubstangenanschlussschiebers ist als koaxiales Zahnrad auf die Flachseite des letzten Getriebezahnrades aufgesetzt, wobei eine Formschlussverbindung für die Mitnahme vorgesehen ist. Damit ist eine leichte Austauschbarkeit im Werk z.B. zur Adaptierung des Mehrriegelschlosses in einer allenfalls sogar geringen Stückzahl für einen besonderen Einsatzzweck möglich. Im Normalfall kann das Mehrriegelschloss mit einem aufgesetzten Zahnrad beispielsweise mit Stockverzahnung ausgestattet sein, die selbstsperrend bzw. selbsthemmend gegen ein Zurückdrücken der Schubstange ist.
