Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zur Wärmeübertragung zwischen dem Abgas (AG) eines Verbrennungsmotors und einem Kühlmittel. Diese weist einen von einer Gehäusewandung (5, 6) umgebenen Abgaseintritts- (3) und einem Abgasaustrittsbereich (4) und einen dazwischen angeordneten Wärmeübertragungsbereich (2) auf. In dem Wärmeübertragungsbereich (2) ist ein Bypasskanal (7) integriert. Die Strömungssteuerung des Abgases zur wahlweisen Kühlung wird von einem Stellelement in Form einer Kugel übernommen, die im Abgaseintritts- (3) oder im Abgasaustrittsbereich (4) drehbar vor dem Bypasskanal oder hinter diesem angeordnet ist. Diese Kugel (14) weist einen Durchflusskanal (16) sowie in einem äußeren Kugelbereich außerhalb des Durchflusskanals (16) mindestens einen Durchströmungsbereich (17) auf, der quer zu dem Durchflusskanal (16) verläuft. In einer ersten Kugeldrehstellung ist der Bypasskanal geöffnet bei gleichzeitiger Verhinderung einer Strömung des Abgases (AG) in den oder aus dem Wärmeübertragungsbereich durch den Kugelkörper. In einer zweiten Kugeldreh-Stellung ist der Bypasskanal verschlossen und das Abgas strömt über die Durchströmungsbereiche durch den Wärmeübertragungsbereich (2).
