Ein solcher Stecker ist aus der US 2002/0173197 A1 bekannt.Such a plug is from the US 2002/0173197 A1 known.

In the EP 0 896 396 A2 a connector is described which comprises a socket and a plug. The socket has a female connector housing and a receiving space enclosed by a wall. This is open to an end face of the socket housing and closed at its end remote from it by a bottom. The socket has a first longitudinal axis which defines a connection direction. The socket housing first contacts are assigned. These are aligned parallel to the first longitudinal axis and project from the ground into the receiving space. On the outer surface of the receiving space enclosing wall, a latching nose and two laterally extending the same parallel ribs are arranged projecting.

The plug has a plug housing with a first housing section and a second housing section. The first housing section enters when connecting to the socket in the receiving space. The second housing portion is arranged at a radial distance from the first housing portion, so that there is a free space between the two, which receives the wall of the socket housing. The second housing portion of the plug is associated with an elastically deflectable locking arm, which can be locked via a spring holder when it is in the locking position, wherein the spring holder prevents deflection of the locking arm from the relaxed position.

The spring holder pressure springs are associated with each other, which are connected at their not supported at this end with each other via a crossbar. The locking arm has an inclined surface which runs when inserting the plug into the socket against the locking lug. In this case, the spring holder is in an advanced position in which its locking surface is not in contact with the locking arm. He is held in this position on the connector housing by elastic arms with locking lugs. If the plug is inserted into the socket, then not only the locking arm with its hook-like projection against the locking lug, but also the traverse, which connects the two compression springs together, comes to rest against the ribs of the socket. If the plug continues to be inserted, the springs are pretensioned. The hook-shaped locking element of the locking arm slides over the latching lug. Here, the locking arm has reached a position in which its locking surface can engage behind the locking lug. At the same time, the compression springs are released in their effect, ie the holding means forming elastic arms have moved to the outer surface of the receptacle housing and are out of control to the connector housing so that they release the pen holder and this is moved away from the detent due to the action of the springs , whereby the locking surface of the spring holder passes over the locking arm and secures it in its engaged position against deflection. In this case, the holding means in the form of the spring holder molded arms are reset with hooks in their original position, so that the springs are relieved again. To release the spring holder opposite to the release direction of the plug must be moved to the connector housing, so that the locking arm is released. So that a sufficiently large contact surface for the support of the compression springs is provided, the ribs are provided on the socket housing, which are arranged in extension of the course of the compression springs, ie extend parallel to each other in the connecting direction and go out from the end face of the socket and up to the latch pass.

For releasing the spring holder is first moved so far in the direction of the socket, that the locking arm is released. The compression springs are partially biased and the arms set the pen in this position. In this position, it is possible to press on an unlocking section of the spring holder, this section acting on an underlying projection of the locking arm. Since the locking arm is formed like a rocker, so its hook-like projection is moved out of engagement with the latch on the socket. If now pulled on the plug, it can be separated from the socket. The handling is cumbersome and requires, in particular, when safe operation is required, additional measures in the form of the ribs on the socket to achieve a secure support for the compression springs that act on the pen. Unfavorable handling is also insofar as when loosening the plug from the socket of the spring holder must first be moved counter to the release direction in order to convert this into a position in which the actuating portion associated therewith a force on the locking arm in the sense of Lösens of the catch of the socket can be introduced. At the same time then must be pulled on the plug to release it from the socket. This means that the release direction of the plug from the socket and the movement of the spring holder in the release position for the locking arms are opposite to each other.

This is not user-friendly for one-handed operation, in many cases an automatic disconnection of the plug from the socket is not required.

From the US-A-5938470 a plug in the form of a socket is known, which is connectable to a mating connector, wherein the mating connector has a latching lug on a housing. The plug has a slider which comprises an elastically deflectable locking arm. The slider is held on the housing of the plug linearly limited adjustable between two positions and acted upon by a spring toward a second position with force and held in this second position. When connecting the plug with the mating connector, the mating connector comes into contact with the slide and transfers it to its first position, are released in the latch arms of the slider, so that the slider is automatically transferred back to its first position. When transferring from the second position to the first position, the locking arm engages behind the latching lug and engages behind it.

The invention has for its object to provide a connector for a conventional socket, i. such, in which at least one locking lug is provided, further develop such that it is easy to handle and can be recognized whether a final connection of the plug is achieved to the socket or not.

This object is achieved according to the invention
that the locking arm is integrally connected to the second housing portion and that the slide is acted upon by at least one spring,
wherein in the not or not fully connected state of the plug in a first position, the spring holds the slide with its retaining stop biased against a first arm associated with the locking arm, from which he on reaching the fully connected state between the plug and the socket by one of Latches of the socket detachably and under the action of the spring in a fully connected state representing the second position can be transferred.

An advantage of this design is that the plug can be used in conjunction with conventional sockets, which have at least one locking lug, so that it is guaranteed without change to the same that the final connection of the plug is displayed with the socket. This will be visible to the fitter as well as palpable when connecting. The visual inspection is made possible by the advanced position of the slider. This is felt by the fact that the Slider advances forward towards the socket. The release of the slide takes place automatically as soon as the locking arm has been released by the locking lug and moves into the locking position behind the locking lug. The retaining stop is also deflected by the latching lug and can move beyond the latching arm due to the force of the compression springs acting between the plug housing and the slider. The slider is thus moved relative to the socket housing and the connector housing.

It is preferably provided that the retaining stop is associated with a holding arm connected to the slider. This makes it possible to design the slider relatively solid itself and to make the arm itself elastic so that it is elastically deformed upon approach of the retaining stop to the locking lug of the socket and immediately following the relaxation of the locking arm after passing the locking lug on the locking arm can slide away.

Preferably, it is provided that the locking arm comprises two parallel to the second longitudinal axis extending and spaced apart longitudinal struts and a transverse thereto extending locking strut, wherein the two longitudinal struts are each connected at one end to the second housing portion and at their free ends by the locking strut with each other are connected. The first stop is assigned to the locking strut and practically corresponds to the portion of the locking strut, which comes into contact with the latching surface of the locking lug of the socket.

It is favorable if the second housing section has a guide, by means of which the slider is adjustably supported along the second longitudinal axis. Preferably, the holding arm between the two longitudinal struts is arranged and elastically bendable. Additionally or alternatively to the guide, which is provided for the guidance of the slider on the second housing portion, a guide may be assigned to the locking arm. In this case, the slide can be used to act on the guide on the locking arm, for example, to transfer this from the locking position in the lifted from the locking lug release position when the slider is in the first position.

It is favorable if the slider is used in the second position to prevent an elastic displacement of the locking arm. There is then the possibility to make the locking between the locking surface of the locking lug and the locking arm so that the connection between the two is canceled when the plug is pulled out of the socket by applying a force by hand. However, the prerequisite is that the slider has released the locking arm. For locking the locking arm, the slider has at least one section which sits in the second position over the locking web and / or one of the longitudinal struts.

Furthermore, it is provided in an embodiment of the invention that the connector housing has a first spring support bearing for the first end of the spring and that the slider has an actuating arm with a second spring support bearing for the second end of the spring.

A preferred embodiment of the invention is shown schematically in the drawing.

A conventional socket 1, which is connectable to the housing of a device is in FIG. 1 shown. The socket 1 comprises a socket housing 2, which has a first longitudinal axis 3. It also has a wall 4, which encloses a roughly rounded rectangular receiving space 5 in the opening cross-section. This is open to the end face 6 and closed at the opposite end by the bottom 7. From the bottom 7 are (not visible) first terminal contacts in the form of pins or tongues before. They are aligned parallel to the first longitudinal axis 3. On the outer surface 8 of the wall 4 at least one latching lug 9 is arranged, which in the direction of the end face 6 has an inclined contact surface 10, the end facing away from the end face 6 towards the bottom 7 away from the outer surface 8, ie rising, runs. This is followed by a latching surface 11, which extends in the direction of the outer surface 8.

In FIG. 2 the plug housing 13 of the plug 12 is shown. This has the second longitudinal axis 14. It has a first housing portion 15 which, when connected to the socket 1 in the receiving space 5 according to FIG. 1 entry. In this case, the first longitudinal axis 3 and the second longitudinal axis 14 are aligned with each other. The first housing portion 15 extends from an end face 16 in which there are openings communicating with contact receiving chambers into which second contacts (not shown) in the form of female terminals are received and secured.

To the first housing portion 15, a second housing portion 18 connects, from which an outer wall 19 emanating from the first housing portion 15 leaves a free space 17 for receiving the wall 4 in the connected state of the socket 1 with the plug 12. The second housing portion 18 is the end surface 16 removably formed integrally with the first housing portion 15. The cross section of the first housing portion 15 is substantially adapted to that of the receiving space 5 of the female connector housing 2 of the socket 1, that is, it approaches in cross section to a rounded rectangle. The second housing portion 18, a locking arm 20 is formed, which is designed like a frame and two longitudinal struts 21 which are arranged at a parallel distance from each other and with one at the end with the second housing portion 18, away from the end surface 16, in one piece are formed. The end surface 16 near the ends of the two longitudinal struts 21 are interconnected by a transverse locking strut 22 which serves for latching by means of a first stop 23 with the locking lug 9 of the socket 1. It sits with the first stop 23 in the connecting direction (insertion direction) of the plug 12 with the socket 1 behind the locking surface 11. The locking strut 22 has at its front edge a footprint 24.

Furthermore, it is off FIG. 2 it can be seen that two first spring support bearings 25 are arranged laterally of the longitudinal struts 21 of the locking arm 20 and serve to support springs 26 designed as compression springs at one end, only one spring 26 and one spring support bearing 25 being visible. In guides 27 of the second housing portion 18 and a guide 27 which is connected to the locking arm 20, a slider 29 along the second longitudinal axis 14 is kept adjustable within limits.

The design of the slider 29 results in particular FIG. 3 , It can be seen that the slider 29 has two parallel actuating arms 31 and at each a second spring support bearing 30, on which the springs 26 are supported in each case with its second end. On the outside of the slide 29 stop projections 32 are provided which limit the movement of the slider 24 in the assembled state on the connector housing 13 in the direction of the first housing portion 15 by a stop on the second housing portion 18. The slider 29 further includes an actuating projection 30, which is exposed in an opening in the second housing portion 18 to the outside for the actuation of hand.

The slide 29 has between the two actuating arms 31 a holding arm 34 which has a holding stop 35 at its free end, with which it is supported in its first position against the first stop 23 of the locking bar 22 of the locking arm 20. The holding arm 34 is adjustable in a direction transverse to its longitudinal axis, ie also transversely to the second longitudinal axis 14, so that it can be brought out of engagement with the first stop 23. The holding arm 34 is aligned with its retaining stop 35 to the detent 9. In the connected state of the support arm 34, as shown FIG. 5 can be seen, over the locking strut 22 of the locking arm 20 and thus prevents loosening of the locking arm 20 of the locking lug 9 of the socket 1. Der Slider 29 takes its second position.

For connecting the socket 1 with the plug 12, these two are aligned with each other so that the first longitudinal axis 3 coincides with the second longitudinal axis 14.

The plug 12 is inserted with its first housing portion 15 at aligned longitudinal axes 3, 14 in the receiving space 5 of the socket 1. When the in FIG. 4 shown position is reached, the locking arm 20 is with its locking strut 22 of the contact surface 10 of the locking lug 9 on the outer surface 8 of the socket in contact. The slider 29 is located in the in FIG. 2 shown position, ie the holding stop 35 is supported against the first stop 23 of the locking arm 20 from. Now, if the plug 12 is moved further into the socket 1, the locking arm 20 is raised by the contact of the locking strut 22 with the contact surface 10 of the locking lug 9 until it has passed and due to its elasticity again the outer surface 8 of the wall 4 of the socket housing 2 can approach. Immediately following the locking strut 22 and the support arm 34 comes into contact with the contact surface 10 of the locking lug 9, so that the support arm 34 is elastically deformed, with the retaining stop 35 of the outer surface 8 of the wall 4 of the female housing 2 and due to the on the slider 29 acting springs 26 also passes over the locking strut 22 away and, as it turns out FIG. 5 can be seen in the final connected state of the plug 12 and socket 1 before the locking strut 22 sets. The slider 29 assumes its second position. The springs 26 are relaxed and the locking arm 20 is secured in its locking position to the locking lug 9. He is prevented from lifting from the detent 9 by the support arm 34. If the connection is to be released, the slider 29 must be acted upon in such a way that it moves from the in FIG. 5 represented second position in the in FIG. 2 shown withdrawn first position. At the same time pulling the plug housing 13 is acted pulling and thereby the support arm 34 in turn elastically deformed upward from the outer surface 8 while his holding stop 35 first on the locking strut 22 and then the latch 9 away, until he, as well as the locking arm 20 now free can be bent, also initially evades upward away from the locking lug 9 and then springs back again and forms with its first stop 23, the support base for the retaining stop 35 of the support arm 34, as shown in FIG. 2 is apparent.
