Definitions
- the invention relates to a module for use in a component set and a corresponding building board.
- building blocks and loot sets are known and commercially available as toy building sites, for example, under the trade name "Lego".
- Lego By engaging the projections on the upper side of such a block in recesses of one or more other components, such blocks can be clamped together to form constructions.
- FR 2 336 956 A1 discloses building blocks which differ substantially from the known building blocks in that the building blocks disclosed there have no recesses on their underside, but instead a free interior enclosed by side walls. Accordingly, at the top of these building blocks projections are also provided only at the edge, or in the case of larger building blocks, to which smaller building blocks can be placed are provided according to the outline of the smaller blocks. From EP 0379389 A1 also blocks are known, which both on its upper side as well as on the underside and its side walls both projections and recesses for engagement of projections of a corresponding block.
- From DE-OS 1603572 blocks are known which have two projections on its upper side and on its underside two matching recesses.
- From the US 5,725,411 A blocks are known, which can be assembled by the engagement of projections in a matching recess of another block at predetermined angles. Below these are building blocks that are not covered with protrusions at all points of intersection of an imaginary square grid on their upper side.
- the object of the invention is to increase the variety of design options that provide such sets of components.
- An inventive component set contains one or more components in which two diagonally arranged crossing points remain free. This idea is as ingeniously simple as the well-known system of building blocks as well. While the prior art devices only allow a rigid connection of two devices by engaging the projections of one device into the recesses of the other device, the use of a device of the present invention in a kit allows construction in addition to such rigid designs pivoting constructions or structures with swiveling or rotating elements. Namely, connecting a block according to the invention by engaging only a single rotationally symmetrical Vorsprung with another block, which may be configured conventionally or according to the invention, these are both Blocks around one by this projection and the corresponding recess extending in the other block axis against each other rotatable.
- the angle available for this depends on the number and position of the remaining projections not participating in the clamping engagement on the lower module.
- the remaining projections of the lower building block prevent rotatability of the building blocks relative to one another, since they stand in the way of the side walls of the upper building block.
- two of four projections are missing, which allows a rotatability of the upper against the lower component. If one looks at only two protrusions located on a diagonal of the imaginary square grid at the lower building block, the result is a twistability of approximately 360 °.
- inventive blocks can be combined with building blocks according to the prior art.
- a set of components which contains one or more building blocks according to the invention it is thus possible to realize considerably more diverse designs than with a set of components which exclusively contains building blocks according to the prior art.
- the imagination of children is more stimulated and the building blocks are more interesting as a toy for children of a larger age group.
- Constructions with rotatable or pivotable elements can be realized with building blocks according to the invention, but can also be used advantageously in other areas.
- building blocks according to the invention easily a construction which a Cable bushing whose diameter is easily adjustable by pivoting one or more modules exactly the required width.
- An advantageous development of the invention provides that the projections have a cylindrically shaped lateral surface. This measure has the advantage that the holding force of the clamping connection is increased.
- a further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the projections are hollow. This measure has the advantage of saving material.
- a further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the blocks are designed as open at the bottom of boxes.
- the cost of materials for the production of a block is reduced.
- a further advantageous development of the invention provides for this purpose that the inner side surfaces of the block have ribs which serve the clamping connection of two blocks. This measure has the advantage that the stability of a component and the holding force of a clamping connection of two components is increased.
- a further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that cylinders are provided in the interior of the box at the bottom of the wall, from which go out the projections in the centers of the imaginary square grid, which serve the clamping connection of two blocks, in particular in combination with the above said ribs.
- the centers of the imaginary quadratic lattice are those points which lie in the center, ie the intersection of the diagonals of the lattice. If the protrusions of a building block engage in the underside of another building block, a clamping effect results not only from the side walls and ribs of the upper building block attached thereto, but also from the respective cylinder.
- the holding force of the clamping closure is increased.
- a further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the blocks are closed outside of the projections on its upper side and formed substantially flat. This measure has the advantage that the production of the blocks is simplified.
- An altemative advantageous development of the invention provides that the component set, one or more blocks containing having at least one of the crossing points of the virtual square grid instead of a projection, a hole, and one or more pins which fit into the holes and a Have lateral surface whose outer diameter coincides with the outer diameter of the projections.
- This measure has the advantage that blocks can be produced by combining pins with components according to the invention which have exactly the desired number of projections for realizing a specific construction. At will can be achieved by introducing the pins into the holes thus achieve a greater number of projections and thus increase the holding force of the clamping connection of two blocks or realize by releasing the holes the rotatability of a construction.
- the number of possible combinations of the number of components of a set of components is further increased and the kit for children even more interesting.
- a further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides for this purpose that the holes are blind holes. This measure has the advantage that the insertion depth of the pins is limited.
- the associated pins are cylindrical.
- An altemative advantageous development of the invention provides for this purpose that the holes are continuous and the pins have a stop which limits the penetration depth of the pins. This measure has the advantage that the production of the blocks and the cost of materials are reduced.
- a further advantageous development for this purpose provides that the pin has two cylindrical sections with different diameters. This measure has the advantage that the holes can be made with a smaller diameter and after Inserting a pin, which then forms a projection, are no longer visible.
- the component set includes a building board, which has projections with a lateral surface in the form of a surface of revolution at the intersection of an imaginary square grid, which are designed so that the building board with a block of the component set by engaging their projections in the recesses on the bottom of the block is clamped connectable, wherein the projections of the building board occupy only a portion of the crossing points of the imaginary square grid.
- a set of components constructions which are rotatably mounted on the building board or have rotatably mounted parts on the building board.
- the module 1 shown in Figure 1 has a cuboid base 2, which has two hollow, cylindrical projections 3 at its top.
- the length of these projections 3 is freely selectable within wide limits, so that the projections can be designed both as short nubs or warts and as long pins.
- the projections 3 serve to two blocks 1, 1 ', as shown for example in Figures 3 and 4, by clamping engagement of at least one projection 3 of a block 1' in recesses on the bottom of the other block 1 to connect.
- the block 1 has exactly two projections 3 and these are arranged diagonally opposite each other. This advantageously provides the possibility of combining several such components into pivotable constructions or constructions containing rotatable or pivotable parts.
- the projections 3 have a lateral surface in the form of a surface of revolution, in particular, a cylindrical shape of the projections 3 for a reversible clamping connection is advantageous.
- FIG. 2 shows the component shown in FIG. 1 in a side view.
- Prior art devices only allow assembly to rigid structures, but not those that are pivotable.
- the described modules 1 can of course also - also in combination with building blocks according to the prior art - put together to rigid constructions, which can be achieved with two projections 3 almost equally reliable clamping between two blocks 1, as with four or more projections. 3
- An example of such rigid construction is shown in FIG.
- both identical building blocks 1 or building blocks 1 'with differently arranged or a different number of projections 3 can be joined together.
- Figure 4 now shows a pivotable construction in a cross section.
- the lower blocks 1 have two diagonally arranged projections 3, the overlying block 1 'only a single, wherein the number of projections 3 of the upper block 1' on the pivotability of the construction of course has no influence.
- Figure 5 shows the same construction in a plan view. In this construction, the two lower blocks 1 are mutually movable. The construction has two axes of rotation, which are each defined by the projection 3 of a lower block 1 engaging in a recess of the upper block 1 '.
- Figures 6 and 7 show the construction of Figures 4 and 5 in a pivoted position which result from turning the lower building blocks 1 relative to the upper building block 1 'from the position shown in Figures 4 and 5.
- the components 1 shown in FIGS. 1 to 8 have a square top surface.
- the underside of the described modules 1, 1 ' is shown in FIG.
- the blocks are designed as hollow boxes, wherein the inner sides of the side walls are reinforced by ribs 6, which serve in cooperation with the cylinder 7 the clamping closure.
- the block 1 has inside the box at the bottom of the wall, from which the projections 3 emanating a cylinder 7, which is arranged in the center of the imaginary square grid. at larger blocks accordingly several centers of the imaginary square grid are present, in which then each such a cylinder 7 is arranged. Building blocks with a square top and four crossing points of the imaginary square grid thus have such a cylinder 7 in the center, larger rectangular blocks corresponding to several cylinders 7.
- FIG. 10 shows a wall of building blocks according to the invention. While known building blocks made possible only rigid, straight or rectangular walls, also flexible walls can be realized with building blocks according to the invention.
- the individual components are in fact, as shown in Figures 4 to 7, rotated against each other, whereby the wall is flexible as a whole and thus allows the winding course shown.
- Figure 10 shows the wall of Figure 9 in a slightly more curved S-shaped course. As FIG. 11 shows, such walls can even be combined to form a ring.
- FIG. 12 shows the wall of FIGS. 9 to 11 in the extended state. As feststetlt by comparing Figures 4 and 6, the pivotability of the einzelert blocks allows each other a change in length of the wall. Between the configuration shown in FIG. 4 and that shown in FIG. 6, there is a difference in length of a factor of root 2.
- FIG. 13 shows another wall of building blocks according to the invention.
- This wall has two portions A and B, which are pivotable about an axis S against each other.
- Figure 14 shows the wall shown in Figure 13 in the pivoted state, so that the sections A and B are mutually perpendicular. In this way, for example, a partial area of a wall can be provided as a gate.
- FIG. 15 shows a further wall of building blocks according to the invention with several pivot axes.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a module for use in a component set and a corresponding building board. Such building blocks and loot sets are known and commercially available as toy building sites, for example, under the trade name "Lego". By engaging the projections on the upper side of such a block in recesses of one or more other components, such blocks can be clamped together to form constructions.
In addition to the familiar Lego blocks, there are similar building blocks. Thus, for example,
The object of the invention is to increase the variety of design options that provide such sets of components.
This object is achieved by a component set having the features of
An inventive component set contains one or more components in which two diagonally arranged crossing points remain free. The angle available for this depends on the number and position of the remaining projections not participating in the clamping engagement on the lower module. In the case of building blocks according to the prior art, the remaining projections of the lower building block prevent rotatability of the building blocks relative to one another, since they stand in the way of the side walls of the upper building block. In a device according to the invention, however, two of four projections are missing, which allows a rotatability of the upper against the lower component. If one looks at only two protrusions located on a diagonal of the imaginary square grid at the lower building block, the result is a twistability of approximately 360 °.
Advantageously, inventive blocks can be combined with building blocks according to the prior art. With a set of components which contains one or more building blocks according to the invention, it is thus possible to realize considerably more diverse designs than with a set of components which exclusively contains building blocks according to the prior art. Thus, in this way, for a given number of building blocks, there are considerably more possible combinations and more interesting and diverse constructions can be realized. Advantageously, the imagination of children is more stimulated and the building blocks are more interesting as a toy for children of a larger age group.
Constructions with rotatable or pivotable elements, as they can be realized with building blocks according to the invention, but can also be used advantageously in other areas. For example, can be realized with building blocks according to the invention easily a construction which a Cable bushing whose diameter is easily adjustable by pivoting one or more modules exactly the required width.
An advantageous development of the invention provides that the projections have a cylindrically shaped lateral surface. This measure has the advantage that the holding force of the clamping connection is increased.
A further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the projections are hollow. This measure has the advantage of saving material.
A further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the blocks are designed as open at the bottom of boxes. Advantageously, the cost of materials for the production of a block is reduced. A further advantageous development of the invention provides for this purpose that the inner side surfaces of the block have ribs which serve the clamping connection of two blocks. This measure has the advantage that the stability of a component and the holding force of a clamping connection of two components is increased. A further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that cylinders are provided in the interior of the box at the bottom of the wall, from which go out the projections in the centers of the imaginary square grid, which serve the clamping connection of two blocks, in particular in combination with the above said ribs. The centers of the imaginary quadratic lattice are those points which lie in the center, ie the intersection of the diagonals of the lattice. If the protrusions of a building block engage in the underside of another building block, a clamping effect results not only from the side walls and ribs of the upper building block attached thereto, but also from the respective cylinder. Advantageously, the holding force of the clamping closure is increased.
A further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the blocks are closed outside of the projections on its upper side and formed substantially flat. This measure has the advantage that the production of the blocks is simplified.
An altemative advantageous development of the invention provides that the component set, one or more blocks containing having at least one of the crossing points of the virtual square grid instead of a projection, a hole, and one or more pins which fit into the holes and a Have lateral surface whose outer diameter coincides with the outer diameter of the projections. This measure has the advantage that blocks can be produced by combining pins with components according to the invention which have exactly the desired number of projections for realizing a specific construction. At will can be achieved by introducing the pins into the holes thus achieve a greater number of projections and thus increase the holding force of the clamping connection of two blocks or realize by releasing the holes the rotatability of a construction. Advantageously, the number of possible combinations of the number of components of a set of components is further increased and the kit for children even more interesting. A further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides for this purpose that the holes are blind holes. This measure has the advantage that the insertion depth of the pins is limited. Preferably, the associated pins are cylindrical.
An altemative advantageous development of the invention provides for this purpose that the holes are continuous and the pins have a stop which limits the penetration depth of the pins. This measure has the advantage that the production of the blocks and the cost of materials are reduced. A further advantageous development for this purpose provides that the pin has two cylindrical sections with different diameters. This measure has the advantage that the holes can be made with a smaller diameter and after Inserting a pin, which then forms a projection, are no longer visible.
An advantageous development of the invention provides that the blocks are made of plastic. This measure has the advantage that the blocks are inexpensive to manufacture.
An advantageous development of the invention provides that the component set includes a building board, which has projections with a lateral surface in the form of a surface of revolution at the intersection of an imaginary square grid, which are designed so that the building board with a block of the component set by engaging their projections in the recesses on the bottom of the block is clamped connectable, wherein the projections of the building board occupy only a portion of the crossing points of the imaginary square grid. Advantageously, can be realized with such a set of components constructions which are rotatably mounted on the building board or have rotatably mounted parts on the building board.

The
In contrast to the prior art, in the
Figur 2 zeigt den in Figur 1 gezeigten Baustein in einer Seitenansicht.FIG. 2 shows the component shown in FIG. 1 in a side view.
Prior art devices only allow assembly to rigid structures, but not those that are pivotable. The described
Figure 4 now shows a pivotable construction in a cross section. In this example, the
The
The underside of the described
While known building blocks made possible only rigid, straight or rectangular walls, also flexible walls can be realized with building blocks according to the invention. The individual components are in fact, as shown in Figures 4 to 7, rotated against each other, whereby the wall is flexible as a whole and thus allows the winding course shown. Figure 10 shows the wall of Figure 9 in a slightly more curved S-shaped course. As FIG. 11 shows, such walls can even be combined to form a ring. FIG. 12 shows the wall of FIGS. 9 to 11 in the extended state. As feststetlt by comparing Figures 4 and 6, the pivotability of the einzelert blocks allows each other a change in length of the wall. Between the configuration shown in FIG. 4 and that shown in FIG. 6, there is a difference in length of a factor of
Figur 15 zeigt eine weitere Mauer aus erfindungsgemäßen Bausteinen mit mehreren Schwenkachsen.FIG. 13 shows another wall of building blocks according to the invention. This wall has two portions A and B, which are pivotable about an axis S against each other. Figure 14 shows the wall shown in Figure 13 in the pivoted state, so that the sections A and B are mutually perpendicular. In this way, for example, a partial area of a wall can be provided as a gate. FIG. 15 shows a further wall of building blocks according to the invention with several pivot axes.
