Abstract

The bridge deployment method has a bridge carrier (3) assembled from coupled sections (31,32) mounted above a deployment beam (V), positioned in front of an obstacle to be bridged, with rollers (R) attached to the bridge carrier via roller supports (RT) moved along rails provided by the deployment beam. The roller supports are detached from the forwards part of the bridge carrier after the rollers have moved along the rails and re-attached to the bridge carrier at a point to the rear of the deployment beam. An Independent claim for a bridge carrier for a transportable bridge is also included.
