Description

Rock drilling rig provided with a sound dampening casing
Rock drilling rig
The present invention relates to a rock drilling rig. More specifically the invention relates to a rock drilling rig where the drilling equipment is provided with a sound dampening casing.
According to a prior art sound damening design for a rock drilling rig, see WO 00/39412, a stiff casing surrounding the drilling equipment is used. This solution has a number of drawbacks. The construction is relatively heavy. If one during handling comes into contact with the rock there is a risk that the stiff casing is damaged through cracking. Vibrations from the rock drilling machine are transferred to the casing and can cause resonances which counteract the sound dampening and which can damage the casing. Another drawback is that the opening toward the operator is small and that it is very difficult to see when connecting drill rods.
According to another prior art solution, see publication JP5079271, the drill machine feed is covered by a surrounding casing and the front part of the drill rod by a separate casing. This sound dampening device appears rather complicated and does not appear to allow drilling with extension rods.
The present invention, which is defined in the subsequent claim, aims at achieving a rock drilling rig which gives good sound dampening, which gives good terain properties because it is comparatively light so that good stability is obtained, which endures that one during manoeuvreing hits e.g. rock and which is easy to serve and allows that one all the time can monitor the drilling including extension of drill rods.
An embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the accompanying drawings in which fig 1 shows a rock drilling rig according to the invention with certain parts taken away in order to show parts inside the casing surrounding the rock drilling machine. Fig 2 shows a simplified view of the surrounding casing only. Fig 3 shows how the sheets of the surrounding casing are connected with each other and with a longitudinal line. Figs 4-6 show a number of designs of sheet with added sound dampening layer. The rock drilling rig shown in the drawing comprises a carrier 1. A drill boom 2 is connected to the carrier 1 which in the shown example is a vehicle provided with caterpillar tracks. A boom holder 21 is arranged on the carrier 1 and swingable by means of the cylinder 22. The drill boom 2 is fastened to the boom holder 21. The drill boom 2 is operated by means of cylinders 23, 24. At the front end of drill boom 2 a feed beam 3 is arranged. Feed beam 3 is swingable relative to drill boom 2 by means of cylinder 25. Along feed beam 3 a rock drilling machine 4 is movable to-and-fro. About feed beam 3 and rock drilling machine 4 a sound dampening casing 5 is arranged. Casing 5 substantially completely surrounds the rock drilling equipment. The exeption is a longitudinal opening directed toward the position of the operator on the carrier 1. Through this opening which is not shown in the drawings the operator can monitor the drilling process and add drill rods or unfasten drill rods from the drill string 8 which is connected to the rock drilling machine 4. The sound dampening casing 5 comprises a rear end part 6 which by means of bars 26 is fastened to the feed beam 3. The sound dampening casing 5 also comprises a front end part 7 which also is fastened to the feed beam 3 and, in the shown example, a frame 27 which by means of bars 28 is fastened to the feed beam 3. The front end part 7 is provided with a sleeve 11 for contact with the ground 12 in which drilling is to take place. The drill string 8 can be moved through the front end part 7 for drilling in the ground 12. Means 9 in form of lines connect the front end part 7 with the rear end part 6. In the shown example the lines are also fastened to the frame 27. A flexible sheet 10 is by means of eye screws 29 connected with the lines 9. The sheet is furthermore fastened to the front end part 7, the rear end part 6 and the frame 27. Through this the sheet can be divided into sections so that easy access for service can be achieved as shown in fig 2.The sheet sections are furthermore connected by means of screws and nuts 30. The flexible sheet 10 should suitably weigh at least 4 kg/m2 in order to achieve suitable sound dampening. As is clear from figs 4-6 sheet 10 can be provided with a light layer 31 of sound dampening material. The flexible sheet 10 can also consist of several sheets placed adjacent to each other with or without intermediate layers of sound dampening material. Casing 5 can also be formed with sheets without sound dampening material when the reqirement on sound dampening is not fully so high. As is shown in fig 2 one can loosen the lines 9 and fold away sheet 10 so that the inside of casing 5 become accessible for service.
