Description
The present invention relates to an electrical connector assembly for connecting a connector disposed on an assembly with a mating connector. In this case, the assembly of the mating connector by a stationary body part of a motor vehicle, in which a corresponding recess is provided for the connector assembly is separated. The connector and the mating connector are mated to make an electrical connection. The present invention also relates to an associated method for forming an electrical connector.
However, this conventional type of contacting electronic assemblies through a solid center plate has the disadvantage that in case of a necessary repair on the electronic module always the entire center plate must be removed to remove the assembly and then to contact a new assembly again reliable. Such an expansion is extremely time consuming and costly. A similar problem arises in all assemblies that are mounted on any other stationary body parts, the wired back is no longer readily available at a later repair, such as in the glove compartment, the car sky or in the trunk.

The object underlying the present invention is therefore to provide an improved electrical connector assembly for connecting a connector arranged on a module with a mating connector, wherein the assembly is separated from the mating connector by a stationary body part of a motor vehicle, in which a cost-effective and quick installation and increased ease of maintenance is given.
This object is achieved by an electrical connector assembly having the features of claim 1 and by an associated method having the features of claim 17.
Advantageous developments of the invention are described in the subclaims.
The invention is based on the finding that in an electrical contacting of a component through a solid body part through an easy replacement of defective components is possible if the connector assembly has an additional adapter, which allows, for example, the assembly after removing a component , the other component z. B. the mating connector, mechanically fixed to the body part. In this way, the assembly can be replaced in the event of a necessary repair, without the other side of the fixed body part must be accessible. Time- and cost-intensive finishing work accounts for it.
According to an advantageous embodiment, the adapter has a substantially tubular shape. As a result, functions such as mechanical support, exact positioning of the connector and the mating connector and sealing against moisture penetration can be integrated in a particularly simple manner.
Characterized in that the adapter has a first holding device which is designed so that the adapter is held in the recess of the stationary body part, a secure fixation of the entire connector assembly can be achieved in the fixed body part.
A particularly material-saving variant of such a first holding device, which can be mounted quickly and automatically, represents a latching arm, which holds the adapter by spreading in the recess.
However, the mounting of the adapter in the recess of the stationary body part may also, in order to meet different demands on the vibration resistance of the connection or the complexity of the assembly, by fastening techniques such as screwing, riveting, gluing or welding, for. B. vibration welding done.
If you want to secure the mating connector after loosening the connector in its original position on the body part, so you look at the adapter in an advantageous manner before a second holding device, which cooperates in a corresponding manner with the mating connector.
This second holding device may for example consist of at least one locking lug, which engages in a corresponding groove on the mating connector.
A particularly secure but still without excessive effort realizable fixation between the adapter and the mating connector can be achieved, in which the mating connector has a locking slide and the locking slide is held in at least one guide rail of the mating connector.
Instead of the locking slide can be provided with a latch for a simplified and safer assembly and a transmission.
However, according to alternative embodiments, the second holding device can also consist of at least one latching connection between adapter and mating connector, a screw connection, welded connection, preferably a vibration welding connection, or adhesive connection. Such solutions offer the advantage of a less complex assembly technique and a high vibration resistance of the holder.
In order to prevent ingress of moisture between the adapter and the recess of the fixed body part, it is provided on the adapter before a first seal, which seals the connection between the adapter and the stationary body part. Such a seal may for example be molded on a plastic adapter.
In order to seal the electrical connector against ingress of moisture, it is advantageous to provide a second seal on the mating connector, which seals the connection between the adapter and the mating connector.
According to an advantageous embodiment, the connector on the assembly on a collar, which at least partially immersed in the mounted state of the assembly on the body part in the adapter. As a result, functions such as positioning and mechanical fixation can be realized in a particularly simple manner.
If, for example, the collar has on its outer side at least one latching opening into which an associated latching projection, which is formed on the inner surface of the adapter, engages with the adapter for fixing the plug connector, reliable electrical contacting can be achieved even with strong vibrations, on the other hand, if necessary, can be easily solved again.
To facilitate the assembly of the assembly, and to prevent mispositioning of contact pins and sockets, the collar may have on its outer side at least one guide groove into which an associated guide projection, which is integrally formed on the inner surface of the adapter, for guiding the connector Mating the connector assembly engages.

A seal against the possibly existing in the
To seal against a corresponding recess in the fixed
