Definitions
- the invention relates to a stack lifting drive according to the upper handle of claim 1.
- the sheets to be printed are removed from the top of a stack of feeders and fed to the machine via a feed table.
- the stack is set up on a stack support plate and is moved vertically by an assigned drive.
- the drive is preceded by a control, which is in signal connection with a sensor that scans the top of the stack. The sensor can thus determine whether the top edge of the stack has dropped below a predetermined height level as a result of the sheet removal, whereupon corresponding tracking movements are carried out via the control and the drive.
- the top edge of the stack must be kept at the intended height level with a relatively high degree of accuracy, since otherwise - especially in the case of high-speed printing presses - the organs that remove the sheets cannot work safely and sheets may be lost when they are transferred to the feed table, which leads to machine stoppages ,
- a disadvantage of drives operating in such a clocked fashion is that the elements which transmit the lifting forces to the stack are subjected to intermittent and thus relatively high loads due to the frequent switching on and off.
- the high switching currents also generate electromagnetic waves, which must be shielded by suitable measures.
- the intermittent movement of the stack is also a disadvantage, since corresponding movements can be transmitted as the movements of, for example, the system of the printing presses, which can possibly lead to incorrect systems and thus machine stoppers.
- a motor which can be regulated in speed is to be provided, by means of which the upper edge is kept continuously within the intended height range in conjunction with an upstream control and a sensor sensing the height of the stack.
- the substrate thickness (thickness) and the processing speed of the machine (printing speed) as well as the size of the predetermined height range in which the upper edge of the stack is to lie influences the speed at which the stack is to be traversed. So ultimately the speed of the linear actuator.
- DE 36 31 456 C2 discloses a control for a stacking stroke drive that operates both continuously and clocked. Switching between continuous and discontinuous stacking stroke drives takes place depending on the substrate thickness. With very thin substrates, due to the otherwise low feed rates preferably cycled. However, a disadvantage of this solution is that an additional pulse generator is required to determine the size of the tracking path on the stacking stroke drive.
- the object of the present invention is therefore to develop a stack lifting drive according to the preamble of claim 1 such that the stack can be controlled precisely in the intended height range even with tolerances in the substrate thickness, using a simple sensor.
- the control determines a traversing speed for the stack from the printing speed, the printing material thickness and a printing material thickness tolerance.
- the thickness tolerance to be assumed can be entered by a user before each print job via an operating device or can be stored as a fixed value.
- the sensor scanning the top of the stack it is a transmitter that delivers a signal when the stack edge is applied to it and does not emit a signal when the stack edge is no longer applied to the sensor.
- the sensor preferably has a switching hysteresis, ie the switching state of the sensor “ stack on sensor” is above the level at which the signal level “ stack not on sensor” is output.
- stacking is carried out at a lower speed than the ideal speed calculated by the control. This speed is lower by such an amount that a negative thickness tolerance of the printing material (thinner than the actual printing material value) is completely compensated for.
- the somewhat reduced post-stacking speed causes the top edge of the stack to come out of the switching range of the sensor after a certain time, ie the sensor signal does not change from " stack on sensor” to " stack Sensor". If all or only a few sheets have a smaller thickness than the target substrate thickness, the time period increases accordingly until the sensor signal changes from " stack at sensor” to " stack is not present". Ideally, the top edge of the stack will never leave the switching range of the sensor, ie the post-stacking speed is optimally selected.
- the stack loses height more quickly and the sensor signal changes more quickly from “ stack is on” to " stack is not on”.
- the lower post-stacking speed selected according to the invention has the effect that the top edge of the stack either never or after a more or less long time interval moves out of the switching range (hysteresis) of the sensor, which means that the signal " stack is not present" on the lower level.
- the top edge of the stack is always moved in a range corresponding to the hysteresis of the sensor. Only relatively small variations in the re-stacking speed are required, i.e. this will fluctuate around the ideal post-stacking speed value with a relatively small amplitude.
- a self-learning optimization is carried out at the start of production. This can be done in particular if there is no or only incorrect information about the substrate thickness.
- the stacking actuator first receives widely differing setpoints. Depending on the duration of the signal level for the two possible states (stack on the sensor / not on the sensor), the minimum and maximum speed of the stack lifting drive is continuously approximated via the machine control until a steady state is formed in the immediate vicinity of the ideal stack lifting speed.
- the actual ideal post-stacking speed is calculated by analyzing the time profile of the sensor signals and the resulting average speed over a longer period of time.
- the result can be used to optimize the post-stacking behavior with a view to smaller deviations.
- it can be determined by what amount the actual substrate thickness differs from the specified substrate thickness.
- the invention can be applied to both a feeder and a delivery stack.
- the stack in a feeder or delivery of a printing press is set up on a stack support plate 2.
- the stack support plate 2 can be raised and lowered by means of a gear mechanism (not shown), for example chains and deflection wheels, by means of a drive motor 3.
- a control is arranged upstream of the drive motor 3, which is controllable in speed.
- the controller 4 is in signal connection with a sensor 5, the sensor 5 sensing the stack height.
- the sensor is designed as a digital signal generator.
- the sensor supplies two signal states, depending on whether the stack 1 abuts the sensor 5 with its upper edge or not.
- the two signal states " stack on sensor” and " stack not on sensor” are shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 with 1 and 0, respectively.
- the vertical movement of the stack 1 on the stack support plate 2 is shown by the double arrow.
- the target stack height SSH is indicated by the dash-dotted line.
- the controller 4 is in signal connection with an input device 6, for example in the form of the control center of the printing press, not shown.
- the stacking speed SG is now moved a predetermined value higher than the ideal stacking speed SSG, so that the stacking height SH increases until the sensor signal S changes from 0 to 1 again.
- FIG. 2 shows that when the sensor signal S changes from 1 to 0 or from 0 to 1, the stacking speed SG fluctuates by the ideal stacking speed by the ideal stacking speed SSG. Accordingly, the stack height SH is always slightly below or above the target stack height SSH.
- a self-learning parameter adaptation takes place, as shown in FIG. 3.
- the stack is not moved at all, ie the stack speed SG is zero.
- the stack height SH decreases rapidly and drops below the target stack height value SSH.
- the sensor signal S changes from 1 to 0.
- This is followed by post-stacking at a high stacking speed SG. This leads to a rise in the stack height SH again in a relatively short time, specifically when the desired stack height SSH is exceeded.
- the stacking speed is then stacked with a value that is greatly reduced compared to the ideal stacking speed SSG.
- This reduction in the stacking speed SG is smaller than the value of the ideal stacking speed SSG in the amount of the first " overstroke". This procedure is continued, the increases or reductions in the stacking speed SG becoming smaller and smaller, so that the stacking speed SG alternately approaches the ideal stacking speed SSG.
- the stack height SH approaches the target stack height SSH.

Abstract
Description
- Fig. 1
- einen Stapelhubantrieb mit den entsprechenden Komponenten,
- Fig. 2
