- the locking groove-spring connection has a resilient section 16 provided on the flange 12 of the suction device 6, which is formed by a slot 18 which is incorporated into the flange 12 on the side facing away from the end faces 9.
- the resilient section 16 has a ramp 20 extending from the associated end face 9, which is separated from an actuating end 21 adjoining it by a shoulder 22.
- the flange 11 of the cylinder head 2 is provided with a locking groove 24 on the upper side in the figure. hen, in which the resilient portion 16 can engage with its shoulder 22 in order to secure the suction device 6 on the cylinder head 2, as will be explained in more detail below.
- the suction device 6 is first inserted with its flange 12 into the clamping groove 14 with a corresponding inclination.
- the flange 14 is provided with a rounding adjacent to the end face 9, as indicated in the figure.
- the suction device 6 is pivoted upward by a pivoting movement about an axis running perpendicular to the plane of the drawing (see arrow a), as a result of which the latching tongue and groove connection is snapped into place.
- the ramp section 20 first slides along the outer edge of the upper part of the flange 12, as a result of which the resilient section 16 is deflected elastically until the resilient section 16 snaps into the latching groove 24 with its shoulder 22.
- the suction device 6 is provided with a seal 26 on its end face facing the cylinder head 2.
- the seal 26 serves a dual purpose: on the one hand, it seals the suction channels 4, 8 from the environment. On the other hand, it generates a contact pressure which elastically prestresses the latching mechanism 10, so that the latching mechanism is secured against shocks and chattering movements.
- the resilient section 16 is released from its engagement with the locking groove 24 by pressure on the protruding actuating end 21, whereupon the suction device 6 can be pivoted in the opposite direction.
- the flange 12 of the suction device 6 can then be released from the clamping groove 14.
- the cylinder head 2 can, as usual, be made of aluminum and the suction device 6 can be made of a plastic such as polyamide.
- the seal is made of an elastic material such as a media and temperature resistant elastomer.
