Während des Umspurvorganges stützt sich das Fahrzeuggewicht über Gleitkufen an der Achsbrücke auf die Umspuranlage ab, so daß die Radeinheiten entlastet sind und mit geringem Kraftaufwand verschoben werden können. Bei dem gezeigten Fahrwerk sind die Radeinheiten 1 jeweils in einem eigenen,
