Description
COLLECTALBΓJM
The present invention relates to a collectalbum containing an elongated U-shaped back element with on the longtidunal direction of the legs of the U, the so called side boards, by which on the inner side of the mentioned back element a clamping element is applied for attaching therein mechanically removable sheets or special edge or side parts for sheets, called binding strips in the mentioned case.
Such a kind of album as a removable photo album is described in the American Patent number 5 002 417, 26 March 1991, inventor Junior Hsu Cs, 4th Floor Number 16 Mintsu E. Road, Taipei, Taiwan. Here, it concerns a disassembable photo album, which contains two opposite encasings as boards, by which the encasings are executed as boxes, just as the back element. The three boxes are connected to each other in the form of hinges by means of screws through bores and in the back element box telescopic pins on strips are applied to keep the sheets together, which are supplied with round holes. The mentioned strips are attached to the back element box by means of screws. The disassembable photo album has a number of disadvantages, such that due to the shape of the box the unit has an unaesthetic look or appearance and that during the changing and rearranging of the sheets everything falls apart, which is very awkward, time-consuming and little professional for use of specially adjustable collections of sheets, whereby fast rearranging with an aesthetic and professional look is of utmost importance. This occurs at expensive photo-reports and product albums of companies, which find the presentation of photos and such very important. Further, the "album" should always be optimally fast adjustable, for so called binding strips with sheets, for both the contents and order of the appearance of the boards, for both the inner side as the outer side. Further, the album should be able to open completely and should be
durable in use .
It is an object of the present invention to provide a collectalbum, which does not have the above mentioned disadvantages and of which the mechanism is better and more durable and with still a good price-quality ratio.
For this purpose a collectalbum for the mentioned so called binding strips with sheets has been further developed in a very ingenious way, such that the mentioned elongated U-shaped back element is constructed of an easy foldable plate element with specially pre-moulded seams, that mentioned back element on the outside can be provided with that mountable profile, that the structure of the back element and the profile is coupled to specially constructable boards by means of adhesion and in such a way, that in the longitudinal direction of the mentioned back element with the boards, the so called hard-cover of the collectalbum is created, by which the hard-cover, the boards on the inner and outer sides is further constructable with panels, and that on the inner side of the mentioned back element a second special multiple plate element bent over pre-moulded seams as binding strip-mounting-element is mounted in channel steel shape or U-shape by means of adhesion, by which this mentioned U-shape is provided with a number of, mechanical locking devices executed as bar-shaped elements designed for receiving the first mentioned binding strips, and that the mentioned hard-cover or board is provided with an edge forming element around the circumference and that the mentioned panels are fittedly linked to the inner side and the outer side in a wide variety. The advantage of this is, that an extremely professional and beautiful collectalbum is created.
The collectalbum according to the invention is further developed in such a way, that the mentioned plate with special pre-moulded seams for easy folding consists of a sandwich plate built up in layers and that the mentioned sandwich plate exists of 3 layers, of which the outer layers are made of aluminium and the inner plate is made of poly-
propylene and by which the hinge seams are a V-seam going through the outer aluminium plates .
The advantages are, that very simple, very well working and dureable hinges are created. Further, the collectalbum according to the invention is surprisingly further developed, that the hard-cover is made of Masonite board (MDF) with along the edges the mentioned profile, by which the mentioned profile along the edges is a beechwood profile with a groove which falls around the edge of the mentioned hard-cover.
The advantages of this is a beautiful, well-protected and closed edge.
Further the collectalbum according to the invention is developed in such a way, that the quantity of the mechanical locking devices is at least two, preferably three and that of the three mechanical locking devices the outermost are fixed locking bolts with sleeve, which are mounted fixedly and blindly in the U-shaped profile, and that the middle mechanical locking device is a through and through bolt connection which is directly accessible and demountable and that the sheets with their binding strips are preferably executed as shown in figure 9.
The advantage of this is, that the binding strips with the sheets are immediately removable and insertable without affecting the rest when loosening the bolt in de round hole by little movement.
Now the preferred embodiment of the invention will be described by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawing, of which: figure 1 shows a cross-section of the mounted collect- album according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention; figure 2 shows a front view of the collectalbum of figure 1 with therein a binding strip with sheet indicated by a dotted line; figure 3 shows a cross-section of the first U-shaped back element with mounted therein the second special mutiply
bent U-shaped plate element as binding-strip-mounting element ; figure 4 shows an element drawing for the assembling of the mentioned first U-shaped back element with profile in cross-section; figure 5 shows the second special multiply bent U- shaped plate element as binding-strip-mounting element in mounted state according to the invention; figure 6 is identical to figure 5 but now as a plate for folding the binding-strip-elements into each other; figures 7 and 8 are identical to figures 5 and 6 but now for larger collectalbums with at least four screws, of which three fall in grooves and one goes through a round hole in the binding strip; figure 9 shows the binding strip with a sheet to be inserted therein according to the Dutch patent nummer 1 010 577, filed 17-11-1998, also from the present applicant; figure 10 shows three second special multiply bent plate elements as binding-strip-mounting-element with the known U-shape supplied with upper and lower parts; and figures 11 and 12 show upper and lower end parts in side elevation and cross-section.
In figure 1 the cross-section is shown of the mounted collectalbum 1 according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention. The several parts are shown in section, such as the first U-shaped back element 2, the second special multiple plate element bent over the pre-moulded seams as binding-strip-mounting-element 3, the hard-cover 4 with dimensions x H preferably from 300 x 300 mm to 400 x 500 mm, bolt shanks 5,6,7 (also see figure 2), the binding strip 8 with sheet 9, the profile 10 adhered to the back element 2, the beechwood profile 11 for finishing the hardcover 4, the decorative panel 12 on the inner side of the hard-cover 4, the decorative panel 13 on the outer side of the hard-cover 4, and the back element 2 with profile 10 can be taped up with leather or plastic foil 14.
Figure 2 clearly shows the binding strip 8 with sheet 9
by a dotted line.
Figure 3 clearly shows the difference in width of the first U-shaped back element 2 with profile 10 and the second special multiple plate element 3 bent over pre-moulded seams, b2 < bl .
Figure 4 shows the mounting diagram of the first U- shaped back element 2 with profile 10 with a plate 2, double-sided adhesive strips 15, 16, 17 and finishing foil 14. Figures 5 and 6 show the second special multiply bent plate element as binding-strip-mounting-element 3. In figure 6 as a plate and in figure 7 in a mounted state. In plate 3 is also made a recess 18 of 12 x 39 mm for the identification plate, which enlarges the aesthetic value. Further, dimensions of the several bore holes for the screws are given in mm.
Figures 7 and 8 show the binding-strip-mounting-element 3 for a collectalbum with a larger H.
The binding strip in figure 9 is provided with a round hole 18 for bolt 16 (figure 2) and the bayonet-like openings 19, 20 for the bolt shanks 5 and 7. Also the double-sided adhesive strip 21 on the binding strip edge 22 on the one hand and the sheet 9 on the other hand.
In figures 10, 11 and 12 the upper and lower parts 23, 24 are mounted on the binding-strip-mounting-element 3.
Finally it has to be emphasized, that the above description constitutes the preferred embodiment of the present invention and it will be understood, that further variations and modifications are possible without departing the spirit and scope of the accompanying claims.
