Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an applicator assembly, in particular for a makeup product.
  • Such an applicator assembly may be used in particular for the application of a blush, an eyeshadow, a blush, a lipstick, a foundation, a cream of care of a solar or capillary product. In a more general way, it can be used for the application of any friable product.
  • the invention also relates to an application kit comprising at least one applicator assembly according to the invention.
  • Applicators are also known, on whose surface a product of the cosmetic product type is pressed or compacted.
  • One of the major disadvantages of these applicators is their low autonomy. Generally, these applicators are used as samples.
  • Patent FR 2,642,675 describes a solid or pasty product dispenser contained in a reservoir comprising a dispensing orifice, the product being pushed towards the dispensing orifice by means of a motor mechanism. According to this document, the edges of the dispensing orifice are covered with a coating such as a flocking or a thin foam so as to allow the application of the product.
  • the device described in this patent is of complex operation, and is relatively expensive to achieve.
  • polishing applicators in which the product to be applied is contained in a tube on which is mounted a block of foam pierced with a hole delimiting a channel in communication with the tube.
  • the product is brought to the level of the application surface, exerting pressure on the walls of the tube so as to constrain the product to pass into the applicator channel and to bring it onto the surface of the applicator.
  • these devices are not suitable for make-up type products, mainly because of the difficulty of correctly dosing the applied product.
  • Patents FR 1 272 557, US Pat. No. 1,899,386 and US Pat. No. 2,450,919 describe product applicators, generally in powder form, in which the powder is contained in a housing formed in a block of foam and whose free end is covered with a sieve, in the form of a perforated sheet, a fabric, or other porous material.
  • the product is free in the housing thus formed, which makes it difficult to apply the product in a metered manner.
  • the orifices, pores or other holes in the sheet closing the hollow housing are subject to rapid fouling, which renders the device unusable.
  • such devices are not suitable for products of higher consistency, such as lipsticks.
  • the device described in US Patent 1,524,008, like those described in US 1,899,386 and US 2,450,919, mentioned above, comprises a bottom forming an integral part of the foam block in which the housing is formed.
  • the soap contained in this housing is not secured to the housing, which, over time, gives it an axial mobility of greater and greater.
  • This mobility, in particular axial makes the application of the product very difficult to accurately dose, the difficulty with the application being further accentuated by the fact that the bottom is not rigid or semi-rigid.
  • Patent FR-2 754 985 discloses a product applicator comprising a foam block having at least one face having a product application surface, and having an A-axis hole, opening on the surface of the product. application.
  • the foam block delimits at least one housing in which is disposed a product stick having a free surface.
  • the foam block is configured to selectively pass from a rest position in which the free surface is at or below the application surface to an application position in which the elastic member deformable is at least partially compressed along the axis A, and wherein said free surface is substantially at the level of the application surface.
  • FR-782500 discloses an applicator assembly according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the foam block is fixed irreversibly on a rigid support, the product being able to be hooked in the open cells of the foam or directly on the support. Because of this configuration, for the consumer, the product stick is inseparable from the applicator, each applicator assembly being defined once and for all, by application characteristics of the applicator, and a given product.
  • the FR 782 500 patent describes a beard shaving brush comprising, in combination with a beard soap, a foam ring surrounding the end of the soap, so as to collect the foam and distribute it on the surface to be shaved.
  • the soap stick is adjustable in axial position in the annular sponge.
  • the user may emerge the free surface of the soap out of the housing defined by the annular foam block, and this independently of any stress exerted on the foam, so that the protection of the soap , especially with respect to the external environment, is not ensured correctly. Indeed, the risk of damage or inadvertent drying of the soap, when the latter emerges substantially from the foam, are large.
  • substantially fixed is meant mounted so that, at rest, that is to say in the absence of stress, in particular exerted axially on the applicator, the free surface of the product can be located only below or substantially at said application surface.
  • the applicator is fixedly placed on an applicator-carrying member, said product-carrying member being removably mounted relative to said applicator-carrying member.
  • the stick in the rest position, ie when, in particular, the applicator is no longer constrained on the surface to be treated, the stick is completely contained within the housing delimited by the applicator. Its protection, especially with respect to the external environment, is good.
  • the housing defines an autonomous reservoir for the product, usually presented in the form of a stick.
  • the entire product is contained within the structure formed by the applicator holder and the product holder.
  • the housing extends over the entire height of the applicator, and opens on the application surface via an orifice of substantially identical section to the section of the housing (at least in its portion adjacent to the orifice).
  • the housing in the application position, it is not covered by a sieve or other perforated or porous element, able to isolate it from the surface on which the product is applied.
  • the consumer can choose to apply a given product in different ways, in particular to obtain a different makeup result.
  • it can choose to change the color, the nature or the texture of the product it wishes to apply, simply by changing the carrier associated with its applicator assembly.
  • it can be passed under the tap so that the application of the second product is not polluted by possible residues of the first product.
  • the product is in a fixed position, at least axially, inside the housing delimited by the applicator. Therefore, the application is by displacement (compression / decompression) of the surface of the elastically deformable element which surrounds the product, which displacement contributes selectively to "discover" the product and to bring the free surface substantially to the level the application surface, for direct application on a surface to be treated.
  • the product can be immobilized axially by anchoring means (fins or ribs) provided on a bottom of the carrier or on its sides.
  • the product may be cast, or compacted within the housing delimited by the elastically compressible block. It can also be poured or compacted previously in a cup formed by the product holder. The assembly of the carrier and the applicator holder is done only later.
  • the product may be in the form of a paste, obtained by mixing a solid particulate phase, or with an aqueous phase, or with a binder, especially a fatty phase in a solvent. It may also be in the form of a product based on hot melt waxes or a gel which is cast in the hot state. Depending on the type of composition chosen, the solidification is therefore, after molding, either by evaporation of water or solvent, or by cooling, or by chemical reaction.
  • the product may be an anhydrous paste, hot or cold cast, especially in a flexible mold of shape adapted to the shape of the stick to obtain.
  • the product to be cast contains, besides colored pigments, fillers and binders, calcium sulfate hemihydrate (CaSO 4 , 1 ⁇ 2 H 2 O) and a sufficient quantity of water to obtain a pourable mixture, the solidification occurring. by formation of calcium sulfate dihydrate (CaSO 4 , 2H 2 O).
  • the stick After freezing of the composition, the stick can be demolded and mounted on the carrier.
  • the carrier may itself define a portion of the mold in which the composition is cast directly.
  • the housing formed by the elastically compressible element can form the mold in which the composition is cast directly.
  • the composition is poured into the housing defined by the applicator via a suitable orifice provided in the product holder.
  • a capsule in particular snapped, glued or welded, can then be used to close the orifice of the carrier.
  • the elastically compressible element can be compressed to a height such that whatever the level of product in the housing, the application surface can be lowered at the free surface of the product, so as to allow the application of substantially all the product, the product being fixedly disposed in the housing.
  • the applicator assembly is able to pass selectively from a rest position in which the surface of the product is at or below the application surface, at a distance from application position in which the product surface is substantially at the application surface.
  • the applicator assembly is disposed on the surface to be treated.
  • the latter compresses at least partially, so that the product comes into contact with the surface to be treated.
  • by small circular motions, for example, is deposited on the surface.
  • the free surface of the product returns to the interior of the housing. Only the application surface of the elastically deformable element remains in contact with the surface to be treated. This free surface can then be used to complete the spreading of the product without adding product, and / or blurring the product.
