  16. A connector assembly according to any one of claims 13 to 15, characterised in that, in the direction of axial introduction (28) into the housing (13), the arresting element (4) rests with a step (18) against a mating step (19) of the connector housing (13).
  17. A connector assembly according to any one of claims 13 to 16, characterised in that the plug connector (1) is introduced through an opening (26) into the connector housing (13) and the arresting element (4) may be actuated through this opening (26).
  18. A connector assembly (24) having a plug connector (1) according to claim 1, which is accommodated in a connector housing (13), the plug connector (1) comprising a contact housing (2), in which a contact terminal element (3) may be fastened via a contact securing means (4), the contact securing means (4) comprising an arresting element (4) fastening the contact terminal element (3) to the contact housing (2), the arresting element (4) being mounted so as to be rotatable between a release position and an engagement position securing the contact terminal element (3) to the contact housing (2), the arresting element taking the form of a rocker, characterised in that the arresting element (4) comprises an actuating arm (14) and an engaging portion (15) arranged close to one of its ends, in that the actuating arm (14) extends axially beyond the contact housing (2) and in that the plug connector (1) is inserted through an opening (26) into the connector housing (13) and in that pivoting of the arresting element (4) is effected through this opening (26) by means of the actuating arm (14).
