Definitions
- the invention relates to a printing device.
- cylindrical consisting of an assembly of a cylinder support, at least one printing sleeve intended to be mounted on the support cylinder and indexing means for mounting each sleeve on the support cylinder.
- impression cylinder This printing device cylindrical will be called "impression cylinder”.
- This indexing system consists of a recess made in the thickness of the printing sleeve and by a device cooperating with the recess, such as a pin cylindrical, fixed on the carrier cylinder.
- This indexing pin is generally projecting over a distance of a few millimeters.
- the recess can be produced throughout the thickness of the sleeve. So this recess practiced in a lateral face of the sleeve leads to the both on the inner wall and the outer wall of the sleeve.
- the recess is not generally not made throughout the thickness of the sleeve.
- the recess made in the sleeve for positioning on the device indexing extends along a longitudinal generator traced on the outside wall of the printing sleeve, this generator used to correctly position the printing plates.
- a printing sleeve on a cylinder carrier is carried out by an operator, this operator bring in the indexing device provided on the carrier cylinder in the recess made in the sleeve while this indexing device is necessarily positioned on the side opposite the operator.
- the operator must therefore proceed by trial and error to align the recess in the sleeve and the indexing device carried by the support cylinder. It is then produces shocks between the printing sleeve itself and the indexing device.
- Printing sleeves are usually mounted on a carrier cylinder by means of pressurized air which is injected at one end of the carrier cylinder and spring through holes arranged angularly around the cylinder. This creates an air cushion between the cylinder carrier and the printing sleeve, which causes a slight radial expansion of the sleeve and allows the sleeve to move along and around the support cylinder.
- the support cylinder has as many devices indexing than sleeves, these indexing devices being retractable and capable of projecting from the surface of the support cylinder.
- Each sleeve has on one of its edges, a hollow to cooperate with the indexing device matching and mount the sleeve in a position appropriate. Furthermore, the fitting of the sleeves is realized by a compressed air supply.
- the air pressure used varies the radial expansion of the sleeve and promotes, by creating an air cushion, an often violent propulsion of the printing sleeve which jerks forward on the carrier cylinder. So when the sleeve recess is not aligned with the device indexing provided on the support cylinder, the sleeve stops against it, causing rapid deterioration of the face of the printing sleeve having the recess.
- each sleeve is done by trial and error, especially when the support cylinder intended for receive the sleeve is inaccessible and the sleeve is of significant dimensions and weight.
- This assembly is therefore relatively long, which increases loss of printing time, prejudicial to printers.
- the invention aims to overcome these drawbacks and to facilitate the work of operators by proposing a printing cylinder whose sleeve has a ring the protects against possible shocks and can also be used guide when mounting the sleeve.
- the invention relates to a printing cylinder comprising a support cylinder, at least one sleeve print intended to be mounted on said cylinder support and indexing means of each sleeve on the support cylinder, these indexing means comprising a recess or the like, provided on a lateral face of the sleeve and opening onto its inner wall, and at least an indexing device carried by the support cylinder and can protrude therefrom, the recess and each indexing device being intended to cooperate to mount the sleeve on the support cylinder by locating it, characterized in that the printing sleeve comprises at minus a ring in the extension of its inner wall and at least partly projecting from said lateral face, ring in which said recess is made or similar, this ring guaranteeing the shock sleeve between it and the indexing device, during assembly of the printing sleeve on the support cylinder.
- the ring is made in one piece with the sleeve, in particular by machining.
- the ring is an insert on or in the sleeve, in particular by gluing, crimping or direct molding.
- the ring is made of a material elastic and shock absorber, such as aluminum or a plastic material such as polyamide, PTFE, polycarbonate, PU, PES or PE.
- the ring includes means for guiding of the indexing device carried by the cylinder support to the recess made in the ring.
- These guide means advantageously consist of two ramps, arranged on either side of said recess, each of them extending from the recess to the edge outside of the ring.
- these ramps are symmetrical by audit report.
- They can in particular be helical or else linear.
- Each ramp corresponds advantageously to an angle between 25 and 60 ° and preferably equal to 45 °.
- a stop is provided between the edge outside of the ring and the end of at least one ramp, opposite to said recess.
- the printing sleeve of the cylinder according to the invention advantageously comprises a ring with a recess on each of its side faces, for reversible mounting of it.
- the sleeve printing has, on its side opposite to that comprising said ring and intended to be visible by a operator when mounting the sleeve on the cylinder support, location display means corresponding to the recess, and possibly means guide, on the face of the sleeve comprising the ring.
- the printing sleeve of the printing cylinder according to the invention may include means for display on each of its side faces, for a reversible mounting.
- the printing sleeve advantageously comprises, on its outer wall, integrated guides for installation and cut using a plate cutting tool and / or the double-sided adhesive interposed on the sleeve.
- the support cylinder has several devices indexing, which are at least partially retractable.
- Support cylinder indexing devices can be arranged according to a generator thereof.
- an intermediate sleeve can already be arranged on the support cylinder before mounting the sleeve printing.
- the indexing devices are positioned on the outer surface of this sleeve intermediate.
- Figure 1 illustrates a printing cylinder comprising a support cylinder 1 which here is cylindrical.
- a printing sleeve 21 is being assembled, it being understood that the invention is not limited to this embodiment.
- a cylinder printing according to the invention could also include at least two printing sleeves.
- indexing devices 10, 11 which are here aligned according to a longitudinal generator of the support cylinder.
- the support cylinder has at least one indexing device by printing sleeve, this indexing device cooperating with the sleeve for the position appropriately on the support cylinder.
- Each indexing device can in particular take the shape of a pawn which extends radially, projecting from relative to the surface of the support cylinder 1.
- pawns are often made up of coins cylindrical steel. They can be mounted so fixed on the support cylinder 1 or even be retractable.
- a retractable indexing device which consists of a cylindrical part which can slide radially in a recess provided in the cylinder support, elastic means being provided between the bottom of the recess and one end of the cylindrical pin of so that in normal position, the pawn is pushed by elastic means outside the surface of the support cylinder.
- pressure is exerted on the pin, especially when passing a sleeve the cylindrical pin retracts inside of the recess.
- Figure 2 shows a mounted printing sleeve 20 on the support cylinder.
- the sleeves 20, 21 are of construction substantially identical and the description of the structure of these sleeves will be performed only for sleeve 20 which is also illustrated in figure 3.

- This ring 30 can be directly machined in the sleeve 20, as illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 3. Others embodiments of this ring will be illustrated in reference to figures 4 to 6.
- guide means are associated with this recess 300, to facilitate the insertion of the device indexing 10 in the recess 300, during assembly of the sleeve 20.
- These guide means can in particular be constituted by two ramps 301 and 302 arranged on the side and other from recess 300 and which extend from the recess up to the outer edge 304 of the ring. These guide means will be described in more detail in reference to figure 4.
- Each sleeve 20, 21 is threaded onto the cylinder support 1 by its end 100, located opposite the indexing devices 10 and 11.
- the cylinder support 1 can be supplied with compressed air, which causes a slight radial expansion of each sleeve, which can slide easily on the support cylinder.
- the operator proceeds usually by trial and error, and it doesn't position necessarily the sleeve so that its recess either opposite the corresponding indexing device.
- the sleeve 21 which comprises also a recess 310 made in the projecting ring 31 which is provided on its lateral face 213. It will be noted that the ring 31 does not include guide means associated with the recess 310.
- these shocks are applied against the ring and not against the sleeve itself, which avoids any deterioration of the sleeve.
- the ring is at least partly projecting from the face side of the sleeve, so that it can effectively guarantee the sleeve from shocks that may occur between it and the indexing device, when mounting the sleeve on the carrier cylinder.
- the sleeve 20 illustrated in FIG. 2 is itself already positioned on the support cylinder 1, the device indexing device 10 cooperating with the recess 300 provided in the ring 30.
- the presence of the guide ramps 301, 302 facilitates the operator's work since they helped guide the indexing device 10 in the recess 300, when the operator rotated the sleeve 20 around the cylinder support.
- the protruding ring on a side face of the printing sleeve according to the invention can be directly machined in the sleeve.
- This sleeve comprises in particular at least one layer of a material having a high vacuum rate and with through holes distributed over its surface, this layer being coated with a resin layer.
- FIG. 4 partially illustrates a sleeve 22, also substantially cylindrical and intended to be mounted on the support cylinder 1.
- a ring 32 On the lateral face 223 of the sleeve 22 is also provided a ring 32, which is not machined in the sleeve but reported thereon.
