Definitions
- the invention is based on a method and a device for non-thermal drying with a water-based paint freshly painted objects, in particular motor vehicle bodies according to the preamble of claim 1 (method) or that of claim 16 (device), such as both is known, for example, from DE 196 44 717 A1.
- Objects painted in series, in particular vehicle bodies are painted in several layers, for environmental reasons at least for the primer and filler paint mostly waterborne basecoats are used. These paints can not be applied wet on wet, but it must apply another coat of paint before each subsequent application the previously applied waterborne basecoat to certain maximum permissible residual moisture of about 5 to 10 wt .-% dried become. Higher residual moisture levels would result in the final thermal baking of the entire layer of varnish lead to cracking of the paint because the amount of the the remaining moisture vapor released through the composite layer can diffuse through quickly enough.
- the object of the invention is that of the generic type Method or the corresponding device to that effect improve that even with a different and above all rapidly changing supply of moisture on the part of the painted Objects always on a certain target residual moisture can be dried and still a constant Residence time of the painted objects in the paint drying system can be met.
- Exceeding the Target residual moisture in the dried varnish, i.e. an insufficient one Drying of the lacquer, caused when the lacquer is later burned in Paint breaks with time and cost intensive rework and with serious logistical problems.
- should the paintwork should not be over-dried because this is for one good connection of the subsequently applied lacquer layer is unfavorable is. Apart from that, overdrying would also be under Energy and cost considerations uneconomical. on the other hand may have a different stay for logistical reasons of the painted objects in the paint drying system not be admitted.
- the figures show a process plant for non-thermal Drying objects freshly painted with a water-based lacquer, e.g. of motor vehicle bodies 2, which are on body supports 3 are stored, which in turn on the air-permeable bottom 4 of a drying tunnel 1, 1 'with constant Conveying speed conveyed through this become.
- a water-based lacquer e.g. of motor vehicle bodies 2, which are on body supports 3 are stored, which in turn on the air-permeable bottom 4 of a drying tunnel 1, 1 'with constant Conveying speed conveyed through this become.
- This is the illustrated embodiment around a two-stage drying tunnel with two side by side adjoining but separable tunnel sections 1 and 1 'of a first and a second drying stage.
- a lock chamber In front of and behind the tunnel sections of the two drying stages is a lock chamber that can also be sealed off 14 or 14 'provided.
- the isolation of the tunnel sections with each other or to the lock chambers can be lift gates or through sliding gates that move transverse
- the paint drying system shown contains for a non-thermal Drying an air drying device 11, the the moisture-laden air from the drying tunnel over one Exhaust air line and a suction fan 6 is supplied.
- the Air drying device is a cold trap 15 containing where the moisture from the air is condensed.
- the dried air can by means of a supply air blower 31 a supply air line 32 can be returned to the drying tunnel.
- the bodies to be dried are in one end in the Dry tunnel introduced, the surfaces of the objects in it with dry air forced convectively and after after drying the paintwork the bodies from the drying tunnel discharged.
- the moisture-laden air is extracted from it, the air contained in the air drying device 11 Condensed moisture is removed and the Air so to a certain target value of absolute residual moisture - hereinafter referred to as "recirculating air target humidity" - dried and blown back into the drying tunnel.
- a number of measures are planned. From the exhaust air flow branches at junction 5, i.e. even before Suction blower 6 a by-pass line 30 from the air drying device 11 bypasses and thus untreated air to the supply air blower 31 directs. Accordingly, the suction fan 6 only promotes a maximum of about 60 vol .-% of the total circulated air amount of the total circulated air through the Air drying device 11 through. Because of a variable speed This part of drive 7 of the suction fan quickly variable.
- the air drying device is dimensioned in this way and designed that with maximum moisture loading of the exhaust air and at maximum exposure to the air drying device the air treated in it to a significantly lower preferably half the target air humidity is dryable.
- the untreated flowing through the by-pass line Air and the air emerging from the air drying device dried air combines in front of the supply air fan again, so that the dried and the untreated air in the Supply air blowers mixed and together the drying tunnel again be forwarded.
- Humidity sensors 9 are humidity data of the circulated Air is recorded at the relevant points and this measurement data processed in a controller 8.
- the controller changes automatically such as the drive speed of the suction fan or its Flow rate that the desired target air circulation on the supply air side can be met.
- the absolute target air humidity is between 3.0 to 5.0 g of water per kg of moisture Air, preferably about 4 ⁇ 0.2 g / kg.
- the performance of the refrigeration cycle of the condensate Cold trap becomes irrespective of the fluctuations in the moisture supply continued at a consistently high level.
- the air is reduced in the amount of air to be dried due to the installed dryer capacity compared to one Condition with high amount of air to dry overdry what however due to the mixing with the untreated portion the circulated air is not only harmless, it is can achieve the desired target recirculated air humidity in any case be respected.
- the air drying device 11 is in principle a flow cross section greatly expanded channel of preferably rectangular cross-sectional shape, in which several heat exchangers are arranged. Due to the enlarged flow cross-section the air flows through the air drying device relatively slowly through so that there is good heat exchange in it comes. In the front part of the air drying device are the air-loaded heat exchanger surfaces 20 and 15 cooling surfaces, whereas the air in the rear part Heat exchanger surfaces 16 is warmed up again.
- a main cooling circuit is initially closed mention that of a refrigerant compressor 17, from several the refrigerant flows parallel to each other Refrigerant condensers 16, from a throttle 18 and out another group of heat exchangers, namely the refrigerant evaporators 15, which represent a cold trap.
- a number of Pre-coolers 20 arranged in the air drying device the also act as a refrigerant evaporator, i.e. part of one another refrigerant circuit, namely a secondary cooling circuit are.
- this secondary refrigerant circuit The main components of this secondary refrigerant circuit are also a refrigerant compressor 22, several arranged side by side in a waste air duct 25 Refrigerant condensers 21, a throttle 23 and the already mentioned, located in the front of the air drying device Refrigerant evaporators 20.
- a refrigerant compressor 22 For the refrigerant flow there is a further refrigerant evaporator 20 'in parallel, the excess air line to be dealt with in more detail below 35 is arranged and the funded therein Excess air cools down.
- the refrigerant evaporator 20 of the secondary cooling circuit becomes the air flowing into the air drying device pre-cooled.
- the heat extracted is via that in the waste air duct 25 arranged refrigerant condensers 21 to uninvolved Hall air emitted by means of the cooling fan 24 through the refrigerant condensers and through the waste air duct finally through the hall roof 26 ins Free is promoted.
- the air enters the rows of refrigerant evaporators 15 of the main cooling circuit is thanks to the effect of the secondary cooling circuit already at temperatures close to freezing pre-cooled.
- the refrigerant in the main cooling circuit has in the refrigerant evaporators - depending on the strength of the air exposure the air drying device - a temperature from -10 to -20 ° C. If the air flow is high, there is a higher temperature than with lower air flow. In each Fall the cooling circuits regardless of the air flow through the air drying device at about the same Performance operated. Because of the low temperature the evaporator surface differs there in the Air contains moisture through condensation and stores it adhere to the surfaces of the heat exchanger fins.
- the on condensate liquid collecting and enriching the surface agglomerates into larger drops due to gravity along the smooth surface of the heat exchanger fins run down into and out of a collecting trough can be derived via the condensate line 27.
- the absolute The residual moisture in the air thus dried is at maximum Flow of air to be dried depending on the design of the Air drying facility and the paint drying system as a whole at a value in the range between 1.5 to 2.5 g / kg, preferably at about 2 ⁇ 0.1 g / kg.
- the dehumidified air is still quite cold at first. she is in the air drying device through the heat exchanger rows of the refrigerant condensers 16 of the main cooling circuit passed through, inside which the passed, compressed but still vaporous refrigerant condensed and on the outside the air flowing around Room temperature is warmed. This will make the relative humidity lowered and their ability to absorb moisture increased.
- FIG operated paint drying plant with a drying tunnel two successive drying stages with air-technical separated Air drying devices 11 before.
- the following drying levels are approximately the same long formed, which is approximately in both stages equally long residence times for the bodies to be dried result.
- one becomes approximately the same Circulating air target humidity e.g. the already mentioned value of 4 ⁇ 0.2 g / kg observed.
- the two are different Drying levels through the intensity of ventilation.
- the painted objects are gentle, i.e.
- the air hits in the second drying stage at about three times the exit speed, preferably about 10 to 12 m / s on the already dried and solidified Paint on. Due to the greater flow intensity of the dry air in the second versus the first stage improved conditions for moisture transfer created from the paint to the air.
- the hall air is subject because of the size of the hall and because of the fact that it is heated or ventilated in a controlled manner, only very much slight fluctuations in temperature and humidity. Through the continuous addition of excess air, the Air circulating in the paint drying system continuously, albeit slowly renewed. This does not lead to enrichment of Solvent vapors or the like.
- Dust particles can also enter the drying process from the drying tunnel and dragged into the circulated air, on the partially wet heat exchange surfaces of the Attach air drying device 11 and heat exchange can affect. To prevent this, the Part of the circulated air to be dried before it enters filtered into the air drying device. Accordingly, in the exhaust air duct leading to the air drying device an air filter 33 is arranged.

Description
The invention is based on a method and a device for non-thermal drying with a water-based paint freshly painted objects, in particular motor vehicle bodies according to the preamble of claim 1 (method) or that of claim 16 (device), such as both is known, for example, from DE 196 44 717 A1.
Objects painted in series, in particular vehicle bodies are painted in several layers, for environmental reasons at least for the primer and filler paint mostly waterborne basecoats are used.
So far, the individual layers have been dried in particular of waterborne basecoats thermally in one Dry tunnel, in which the paint on the vehicle bodies heated by hot circulating air and / or by radiant heaters and such the contained water is carefully evaporated. The moisture laden Exhaust air is - possibly after heat recovery - removed as a whole from the drying process. This is a very energy-intensive drying process, especially not only the drying air continuously at high temperature values, but the vehicle bodies are also heated up first and then must be cooled down again.
That's why you have a less energy-intensive drying process at least for water-based paints consider which one described in principle in the publication mentioned at the beginning is. This proposal is correct in the beginning. On the problem that is not solved consists of a different one Incidence of moisture on the part of the freshly painted Items. The freshly painted are used in everyday production Objects not in the same chronological order introduced into the paint drying system, but it is in this regard with a change, e.g. with more or less long ones Interruptions or with a new start of production expected.
The object of the invention is that of the generic type Method or the corresponding device to that effect improve that even with a different and above all rapidly changing supply of moisture on the part of the painted Objects always on a certain target residual moisture can be dried and still a constant Residence time of the painted objects in the paint drying system can be met. Exceeding the Target residual moisture in the dried varnish, i.e. an insufficient one Drying of the lacquer, caused when the lacquer is later burned in Paint breaks with time and cost intensive rework and with serious logistical problems. On the other hand, should the paintwork should not be over-dried because this is for one good connection of the subsequently applied lacquer layer is unfavorable is. Apart from that, overdrying would also be under Energy and cost considerations uneconomical. on the other hand may have a different stay for logistical reasons of the painted objects in the paint drying system not be admitted.
The above task is based on the generic Method or the device according to the invention by the characterizing features of claim 1 (method) or the solved by claim 16 (device).
Crucial for reliable adherence to the target residual moisture at least in a permissible tolerance range rapid adjustment of the drying capacity of the system to that changing moisture supply. A quick adjustment will according to the invention on the air side by changing a dried one and an untreated partial air flow is reached. When there is a high level of moisture on the part of the painted objects a high proportion of dried air is driven; the untreated air circulation is correspondingly lower. With little Moisture supply is the other way around; then the dried air fraction in favor of the untreated circulating air fraction reduced. The air drying device is with her Drying capacity designed so that even at the maximum required dried partial air flow with certainty still the circulating air target humidity can be met. With a reduced proportion in air to be dried, the air is admittedly due to the installed dryer capacity compared to the above Condition overdry, which is due to the mixing with the untreated portion is not harmful; In any case can maintain the desired target recirculated air humidity for a short time become. Over-drying of the dried air is energetic Aspects easily justifiable because the Energy balance not essential even with over-dried portion turns out differently than in the design case. It only has to be done once an appropriate capacity of a drying capacity installed become.

Because of the drying process or in the drying plant the paint applied to the vehicle bodies is supposed to be applied to a certain, always constant target residual moisture dried become. However, on the side of the painted vehicle bodies due to different loading density in the drying tunnel with a different and possibly also rapidly changing Expect moisture supply. From logistic Reasons can be a different stay of the painted Vehicle bodies are not permitted in the dry tunnel become.
Um das wechselnde Feuchtigkeitsangebot in der Lufttrocknungseinrichtung
trägheitsarm ausregulieren zu können, sind erfindungsgemäß
eine reihe von Maßnahmen vorgesehen. Vom Abluftstrom
To the changing moisture supply in the air drying facility

Luft, vorzugsweise etwa 4 ±0,2 g/kg.Because of this design of the paint drying system

When freshly painted vehicle body in uninterrupted The result is that moisture is brought into the drying tunnel on the part of the painted objects very much high and can be considered as maximum. Then the share of the air to be dried to a high, maximum fraction - For further information on this design criterion, see below - the total amount of air circulated is increased; the untreated air circulation is correspondingly lower. With little Moisture supply is the other way around; then the dried air fraction in favor of the untreated circulating air fraction reduced. The air drying device is with her Drying capacity designed so that even at the maximum required dried partial air flow with certainty still the circulating air target humidity in the total circulated air in the inlet adhered to the drying tunnel (moisture sensor 10) can be. If, however, due to interruptions or Faults in the previous body painting many Places in the drying tunnel are unoccupied and little moisture is placed in the drying tunnel, so the one to be dried Air fraction in favor of the untreated air fraction e.g. reduced to about 25 to 30 vol .-%, the per unit time total amount of air circulated is kept constant.
The performance of the refrigeration cycle of the condensate Cold trap becomes irrespective of the fluctuations in the moisture supply continued at a consistently high level. at The air is reduced in the amount of air to be dried due to the installed dryer capacity compared to one Condition with high amount of air to dry overdry what however due to the mixing with the untreated portion the circulated air is not only harmless, it is can achieve the desired target recirculated air humidity in any case be respected. Overdrying of the dried From an energetic point of view, air is not only without further justifiable, but because of the mixing with the humid, untreated air to maintain the desired Circulating air target humidity even required. It only has to be one appropriate drying capacity installed become.
It depends on the particular design of the paint drying system depending on how high an operating state of a highest moisture supply the maximum required proportion of to drying air is made. Will be in the air drying facility installed a very high condensing capacity and accordingly the air treated in it is very dry, so needs with very high moisture input into the paint drying system the air drying device with only one relatively low maximum proportion of, for example, 40% by volume Dry air - based on the total amount of air circulated - to be driven. On the other hand, if the condensing capacity is limited that treated in the air drying facility Air dried less strongly, so with a high Moisture input the proportion of dry air on e.g. 60 %. When treated in the air dryer Air is dried so much that it is compared to the Circulating air target humidity is only about half the amount of moisture contains air per unit of measure, so at a maximum assumption of moisture in the paint drying system the proportion of dried air around 50% of the total circulated Amount of air. With reduced entry of moisture the proportion of dried is in the paint drying system Air reduced accordingly, due to the consistently high condensation output Residual moisture content of the dried air is less high, the treated Air is then dried more. By mixing the dried air with the untreated air content is in of the total circulated air on the supply side in any case desired target air circulation humidity maintained.
In principle, it is conceivable to reduce the proportion of those to be dried

In jedem
Fall werden die Kühlkreisläufe ungeachtet des Luftdurchsatzes
durch die Lufttrocknungseinrichtung bei etwa gleichbleibender
Leistung betrieben.

Beim dargestellten
After the freshly applied water-based paint has lost its moisture

insgesamt rezirkulierten Luft zugegeben.
