Description

The present invention relates to the packaging and dispensing of a composition in the form of a powder, as used in particular in the field of makeup and / or care of the skin and mucous membranes, and in particular in the field of facial and skin makeup products, such as eye shadow, blush, face and body powders.

Recently, powders have appeared on the market, sometimes referred to as "liquid powders". Such powders include a) a "dry" or powdery phase, optionally comprising a binder, and generally consisting of pigments and / or nacres and / or fillers and / or flakes, and / or their mixture, and b) a phase, which can act as a binding phase, and contains micro-capsules, vesicles, micro-sponges, porous waxes, or any other structure capable of storing a fluid, such as water, propylene glycol, oil, a gel, or an O / W or W / O emulsion, and releasing said fluid, especially in response to pressure. On application, by spreading and pressing the powder against the skin, for example via an applicator, the liquid contained in the vesicles or microcapsules is released, which causes a pleasant feeling of freshness on application.

An example of such a structure capable of storing water is described in the context of a whitening powder, which is the subject of the patent application EP-A-0 855 177. According to this application, the whitening powder contains in addition to the whitening ingredients, 0.1 to 7% by weight of trimethylsiloxylated silicic acid in anhydrous form, having a specific surface area of at least 80 m 2 / g, and a degree of hydrophobicity of at least 50 %. Thus, the water retained by silicic acid in anhydrous form is released by spreading and pressing the powder against the surface to be treated, so that the powder literally liquefies.

Such powders, especially when they have a continuous aqueous phase, moisturize the skin and do not provide a tugging or drying effect. They exhibit excellent dispersion of the pigments. The composition obtained is also very homogeneous, and it remains so even after application to the skin for several hours.

Such compositions also have excellent cosmetic properties: they adhere sufficiently to the skin but not too much; they are very soft, and apply easily. They do not transfer or migrate in the folds of the skin.

A problem that arises with these powders is essentially their handling, and their application including by means of an applicator. Indeed, with this type of powder, during the removal of the powder, the pressure exerted by the applicator on the product must not be too high so as not to release the fluid in advance. However, it must be sufficient to allow the anchoring of the product on the applicator. In addition, a dosing of the product can not be done.

Typically, such powders are packaged in a receptacle surmounted by a sieve through which the powder is passed, the sample being taken by means of an applicator, in the form of a puff, which is put into engagement with the powder on the sieve so as to collect the powder. Because of the difficulty in controlling the pressure exerted on the powder via the applicator, compacting of the powder on the screen often occurs, causing the pores of the latter to become clogged.

In addition, the pulverulent phase tends to "fly" during application.

Document FR-A-2 701 364 discloses a powder applicator assembly comprising a reservoir and a mobile applicator member relative to the reservoir.

Enfin, lorsque le prélèvement d'une telle composition s'effectue dans certaines conditions, les particules contenant le fluide peuvent s'agglomérer avec les composés pulvérulents pour former une sorte de pâte hétérogène et instable dont l'utilisation en tant que produit de maquillage est impossibleFinally, when the collection of such a composition is effected under certain conditions, the particles containing the fluid can agglomerate with the pulverulent compounds to form a kind of heterogeneous and unstable paste whose use as a makeup product is impossible

Also, is it an object of the invention to provide a set of packaging and application of a composition formed at least in part of particles containing a fluid, and resolving in whole or in part, the problems discussed below. before with reference to some conventional devices.

It is in particular an object of the invention to provide such an assembly which allows easy, metered and homogeneous application of such a product, avoiding in particular the phenomena of compacting or early release of the fluid, mentioned above.

Still other objects will appear in the following detailed description.

Quite unexpectedly, the Applicant has discovered that when such a composition is packaged and distributed by means of a set having particular characteristics, the handling of such a composition, and in particular its sampling and spreading, is done in a much more satisfactory way.

According to the invention, these objects are achieved by providing an assembly for the packaging and application of a composition, in particular a cosmetic composition, said composition being disposed inside a reservoir and being formed at least partly of particles containing at least one fluid, said assembly comprising said composition, said reservoir and an applicator formed of a gripping member and an application member with at least a portion of which the composition in the reservoir is intended to come into contact, said applicator being configured such that, during a movement, in a substantially predetermined path, of the applicator with respect to said reservoir, at least the portion of the application element with which the composition has been brought into contact , passes through a compaction member of the assembly and comes into engagement with at least a portion of the latter, the pressure exerted between the application element and the ite (or said) portion (s) of the compaction member during said engagement, promoting the anchoring of the composition on said applicator element.

According to the present invention, the particles containing at least one fluid are particles formed of a hollow or porous structure, capable of storing a certain quantity of said fluid, and of releasing it, in response to a sufficient pressure, corresponding in particular to the pressure resulting from the application of the composition on the surface to be treated. In other words, in the reservoir which contains them (optionally mixed with a pulverulent phase), the two phases forming said particles ("solid" phase forming the container, and the fluid phase contained within the phase " solid ") remain individualized, one being contained inside the other. In contrast, in response to said pressure, the liquid is removed from the structure that contains it, and is released on the surface to be treated. The liquid thus released can be brought into contact, where appropriate, with a pulverulent phase to promote spreading and holding on the skin.

The fluid may be contained within vesicles, micro- or nano-capsules, micro-sponges, microspheres, or any other porous structure. The fluid may in particular be water, a gel, an oil, polypropylene glycol, an O / W emulsion or W / O emulsion.

In the remainder of the description, the phase consisting of the particles containing the fluid, in any form whatsoever, will be called "liquid phase". The liquid phase of the composition promotes, where appropriate, the attachment of the powdery phase on the surface to be treated, and also promotes the spreading. It can advantageously be used as a vehicle for at least one active ingredient, especially for the care of the skin. It also makes it possible to confer a fresh effect on the skin.

From the predetermined path of the applicator element passing through the applicator compaction member, it results that the pressure applied by the compacting member on the applicator element remains substantially the same throughout the service life of the applicator member. system, and can be parameterized so as to be strong enough to allow adequate anchoring of the product on the applicator, and low enough not to cause early release of the stored fluid. As the applicator element passes through the compaction member, the homogeneous spreading of the composition taken from the effective part of the applicator element, which homogeneous spreading favors the spreading of the produced on the surface to be treated, especially the skin.

Preferably, the predetermined path is direction other than a direction perpendicular to the application surface, so as to limit the crushing of the powder on the applicator. Thus, preferably, it causes a relative displacement between the compaction member and the application surface, substantially in the plane of the application surface or in a plane tangential to the application surface.

Advantageously, said compaction member is fixedly mounted near an opening of the reservoir.

The substantially predetermined movement of the applicator relative to the reservoir may be a rotational movement about an axis, or a translational movement substantially along an axis.

The applicator element is preferably on at least a part of its surface, covered with a flocking coating. Such flocking may consist of cotton fibers or rayon. The fibers may be of length and / or section, and / or of different nature, depending on the desired application characteristics.

According to an advantageous embodiment, all or part of said applicator element is made in particular of closed-cell foam, open or semi-open, of thermoplastic or vulcanized elastomer, in particular of polyester, polyethylene or polyvinyl chloride elastomer, in particular sintered, in particular metal or ceramic, or felt.

The assembly according to the invention is preferably configured so that a volume of air is formed between a free surface of the composition and the compaction member. As an indication, the assembly is configured so that, before the first use, the composition occupies only half the height of the container. Such a volume makes it possible, in particular by agitating the assembly, to homogenize the product contained in the reservoir, in particular when the product contains particles having different densities, and possibly to ensure that the product is brought into contact with the element. application in the event that the latter is not "immersed" in the product.

Preferably, in a mounted position of the applicator on the reservoir, the applicator element is disposed between the said free surface of the composition and the compaction member, the contacting of the applicator element with the composition being done in particular by shaking the whole. This prevents the compaction in the reservoir of the composition by the application element.

According to one embodiment, the applicator element is of circular cross-section, and rotatably mounted inside a casing surmounting the reservoir, said casing constituting said compaction member, and having at least two openings, a first opening disposed facing the reservoir and through which, in a first angular position, a segment of the application element emerges so as to be brought into contact with the composition, said segment of the application element being adapted to pass from said first position to a second position in which it emerges through a second opening opening on the outside of the tank so as to allow the application of all or part of the composition with which it was put to contact in the first position, said first and second openings being separated by at least a portion of the housing with which, passing from the first to the at a second position, said segment is engaged to cause anchoring of the composition to be applied to all or part of the surface of said segment.

Advantageously, the passage of the first to the second position is by a rotation of the applicator element about an axis perpendicular to its cross section. The applicator can be actuated from the outside by the user. preferably, the actuating device is constituted by at least one wheel fixed at one end of the axis of rotation and disposed at least partially outside the casing.

Un tel dispositif est décrit en détail dans la demande de brevet WO 97/31553.According to another embodiment, the compaction member consists of an element formed from at least one foam material, and disposed in the vicinity of an opening of the reservoir, said element being traversed by at least one slot or a passage so that it can be traversed by said applicator element. Such a device is described in detail in the patent application WO 97/31553.

The applicator element may be integral with a first end of a rod, a second end of the rod, opposite the first end being integral with an element capable, on the one hand, of forming a gripping member for said element application, and secondly, when said applicator is mounted on the reservoir, to seal said opening.

Preferably, in the absence of the applicator, the (or) edge (s) delimiting said slot or said passage are substantially contiguous.

More preferably, in the mounted position of the applicator on the reservoir, said applicator element is located between the compaction member and a bottom of the reservoir, preferably between the compaction member and the free surface of the composition, a portion of said rod being disposed in said passage or slot, said rod being configured such that said rod portion does not substantially compress said foam member.

La hauteur du bloc de mousse 11 est typiquement comprise entre 1,5 mm et 80 mm.The foam may be a foam formed at least in part of open or semi-open cells, in particular a foam of an elastomer, in particular polyurethane or polyether. Preferably, the foam generally comprises at least 5% of open cells, the cells having a diameter of preferably between 5 μm and 3 mm. The height of the foam block 11 is typically between 1.5 mm and 80 mm.

The foam block may be stiffened at its periphery and over at least part of its height, in particular to prevent it from compressing during the introduction of the applicator into the container.

The compaction member may be formed by the union of two solid half-cylinders made of foam, held against each other by the neck of the receptacle and defining between them a slot which can open to the passage of the element. 'application.

In another variant, the compacting member may be formed by winding a strip of foam on itself, defining a central recess for the passage of the applicator element. The compacting member may also be made by superimposing several foam rings of different natures, made in foams having cell densities. increasing as one approaches the outlet of the container, the assembly being traversed by an axial recess for the passage of the applicator element.

The compaction member can be retained in many ways in the container. The foam block can be simply glued or welded at its periphery to the wall of the container.

The invention consists, apart from the arrangements described above, in a certain number of other arrangements which will be explained below, with reference to nonlimiting exemplary embodiments, described with reference to the appended figures, among which:
  • Figures 1-3 illustrate an assembly according to a first embodiment of the invention; and
  • FIG. 4 illustrates an assembly according to a second embodiment of the invention.

The applicator assembly shown in Figures 1 to 3 is designated as a whole by the reference 1. It consists of a reservoir 2, a housing 3 and a removable cover 4. The housing 3 rotates around an axis 6 an applicator disc 5. The reservoir 2 is a cylinder of quasi-rectangular section limited by two parallel plane side walls 21 and forming an opening 99 at its upper part. The edge of the tank is provided with a fixing device 22 by breakdown cooperating with a corresponding device 35 of the housing 3. The reservoir contains a powder P for the makeup of the cheeks, of the type of those described above. In this particular example, the liquid phase comprises wax microcapsules containing water.

In this case 3 is formed a cylindrical space, circular section coaxial with the applicator disc 5 and the axis 6, having dimensions allowing it to closely match the shape of the applicator disc 5. On the lower edge of the envelope 31 of the housing, is provided an interior opening 32 which puts the tank 2 in communication with the internal cylindrical space of the casing 31 of the casing 3. This opening 32 has notches, formed in the flat lateral walls of the casing 31, which have a trapezoidal shape. Around the entire periphery of the opening 32, the edge 32a has the shape of a bevel inclined from the outside to the inside. At its upper part, the casing 3 has an outer opening 33 of rectangular shape. In the casing 31 are formed two circular windows 34a and 34b for the passage and the attachment of the axis of rotation 6 of the applicator disc 5, as explained below. Inside the wall of the envelope 31, these windows 34a, 34b consist of two sections of different diameters, separated by a shoulder, the smaller diameter section opening into the cylindrical space circular section. On the upper part of the casing, around the outer opening 33, there is provided a device for fixing the cover 4 consisting of a breakdown device 36 cooperating with a corresponding device 41 of the cover 4.

The applicator disc 5 is, in the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, entirely of fully flocked flexible foam. It is provided at its center with a circular opening 51 for the passage of the axis 6. The disc 5 has dimensions such that, when mounted in the housing 3, a segment 52 emerges from the housing 3 through the housing. opening 33 and a segment 53 of the disc is disposed in the opening 32 to the right trapezoidal notches.

The axis 6 consists of two elements 6a and 6b fitting one into the other. Each of these elements is formed of three successive portions of decreasing section: a wheel 61a, 61b of circular cross section, a flange 62a, 62b of circular cross section and a rod 63a, 63b. The rod 63a of the element 6a is solid and has, in cross section, a square shape. It fits into the hollow rod 63b which has an imprint having a square section corresponding to that of the rod 63a. The fixation of the rod 63a in the rod 63b is done by a double rib system 64a and groove 64b breakdown. The flanges 62a and 62b carry axial pins 65a and 65b which sink into the flexible foam constituting the disc 5 and which prevent any relative rotation of the disc 5 relative to the axis 6 when the assembly is mounted. The flanges 62a and 62b are partially arranged in the smaller diameter section of the windows 34a and 34b. The wheels 61a and 61b are partially arranged outside the windows 34a, 34b in the larger diameter section of said windows and rest on the shoulder between the two sections of different diameter windows 34a and 34b. Thus, when the two elements 6a, 6b are nested, the axis 6 is positioned and retained axially; the knobs 61a and 61b are provided externally with four notches 66a facilitating the manual action of the user on each of the knobs.

The cover 4 is fixed on the upper part of the casing 3, so as to protect the segment 52 of the applicator member 5 emerging from the opening 33 of the casing 3; the cover 4 has on its faces extending the parallel walls 21 of the tank 2 notches 42 in an arc in which the rollers 61a, 61b take place in the closed position of the lid 4.

Set 1 works as follows. When the user wishes to take, for example, a powder P contained in the tank 2, he removes the lid and returns the assembly 1, or shakes it vigorously, so that the powder P comes into contact with the segment 53 of the disc 5. Then, it rotates one of the knobs 61a or 61b by half a turn, in one direction or the other, so that the portion of the disk forming the segment 53 takes the corresponding place in the segment 52 in the opening 33. During rotation, the powder is packed by the inclined edges 32a, between which the disk is driven, then by the inner surface of the casing 31. The product is thus compacted on the applicator 5 and is distributed over homogeneous way on the segment 53, a small amount of liquid that could possibly, during compaction, be released on the applicator. In the end, the powdery phase does not fly. To apply the powder, the user uses the emerging segment of the housing 3 as an applicator.

On application, by pressing the applicator on the skin, the liquid contained in the microcapsules of wax is released, and mixes with the powdery phase, which gives a feeling of freshness on the skin, and promotes the spreading and holding the powder on the skin.

Due to the elasticity of the periphery of the foam disc 5, the contact between the disc 5 and the edge of the opening 32 is sufficiently sealed so that the powder is not likely to escape the reservoir during storage and when we return the assembly to put the product in contact with the segment 53 of the disc.

Le goulot 154 se termine par un rebord 195 formant radialement saillie vers l'intérieur.FIG. 4 shows a device 100 according to a second exemplary embodiment of the invention. This X-axis device comprises a container 188 and an applicator 189. The container 188 is formed by the assembly of a lower portion 190 and an upper portion 191. The lower portion 190 has a central tubular wall 192 closed lower by an attached bottom 193 and surmounted by a neck 154. The neck 154 ends with a flange 195 forming radially inwardly protruding.

The powder P is contained inside the tubular wall 192, and at its free surface disposed substantially at mid-height of the tubular wall 192. The pulverulent phase consists of pigments and fillers for lip makeup. The liquid phase is formed based on polypropylene glycol retained in microcapsules of wax melting at low temperature.

La paroi centrale tubulaire 196 s'engage alors de façon étanche sur le col 154 de la partie tubulaire 192.The upper portion 191 of the container 188 comprises a central tubular wall 196 extended radially outwards, near its upper end, by an outer skirt 197 which is rounded downwards and on the inner surface of which the skirt snaps. 190 of the lower portion 190. The tubular central wall 196 then engages sealingly on the neck 154 of the tubular portion 192.

An arch 198, integrally molded with the upper portion 191 of the container, is articulated on the outer skirt 197 by means of bridges of material 199 forming hinges. The tubular central wall 196 has, at the level of the connection of the outer skirt 197, a recess 150 inward, extended upwards by a neck 101 defining an opening 121. The applicator 189 comprises a gripping member 102, extended downwards by a rod 103 provided at its lower end with an applicator element 104. The applicator element 104 consists of an elastomer pallet, of ovoid longitudinal section, and of a tapered shape in the direction of its free end. The applicator element 104 is covered with a flocking coating. The gripping member 102 is formed by assembling an outer body 105, of ogival shape, open at its lower end and an inner portion 106 fitted into the outer body 105 and having a hollow housing 107 in which is retained a spherical head 108 formed at the upper end of the rod 103, so as to form a ball joint.

In the closed position of the container 188, the outer body 105 of the gripping member 102 fits on the neck 101. The sealing at the closure is obtained by clamping the inner portion 106 against the upper end edge The stem 103 of the applicator 189 widens at its lower end 109 to form a housing for fixing the applicator element 104, constituted in the example described by a felt tip.

Le bloc de mousse est traversé par un passage axial 120.A block of polyurethane foam 110 is housed inside the central tubular wall 196, being retained axially at its lower end by the inner rim 195 and at its upper end by the recess 100. The foam block is traversed by an axial passage 120.

On application, the user shakes the assembly 100, so as to bring the powder P into contact with the applicator element 104, disposed at a distance from the free surface of the powder. The product is deposited on both the applicator and on the bottom wall of the foam block 110. By removing the applicator 189 from the reservoir 188, the applicator element is passed through the foam block 110 via the passage 120, along a path substantially along the axis X, imposed by the configuration of the assembly. In doing so, the powder on the applicator element 110 is pressed between the surface of the applicator and the foam block, thereby improving the resistance of the powder to the applicator. In addition, during the extraction of the applicator element 104, via the passage 120 of the foam block 110, the lower wall of the foam block is driven by the applicator element 104, and partly back to the inside of the foam block, thus causing the transfer on the applicator of the powder present on said lower face.

At the exit of the application element 104, the powder is firmly anchored to the applicator. She does not fly. When applied to the skin, the pressure exerted by the applicator on the skin, causes the release of the liquid enclosed in the microcapsules of wax, which liquid provides a pleasant feeling of coolness and softness, and helps promote the spreading and the good behavior of the powder on the skin.

In the foregoing detailed description, reference has been made to preferred embodiments of the invention. It is obvious that variations may be made without departing from the spirit of the invention as claimed hereinafter.

  10. Assembly (1, 100) according to Claim 9, characterized in that passage from the first position to the second position takes place by a rotation of the application element (5) about a pin (6) perpendicular to its cross section.
  11. Assembly (1, 100) according to any one of Claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the compacting member consists of an element (110) formed from at least one foam material and placed near an opening (121) in the container (192), the said element being penetrated by at least one slot or passage (120) through which the said application element (104) can pass.
  12. Assembly (1, 100) according to Claim 11, characterized in that the said application element (104) is attached to a first end of a wand (103), a second end of the wand, on the opposite side from the first end, being attached to an element (102) capable, on the one hand, of forming a member for gripping the said application element (104) and, on the other hand, when the said applicator (189) is mounted on the container, of sealing the said opening (121).
  13. Assembly (1, 100) according to Claim 11 or 12, characterized in that, in the absence of the applicator (189), the edge (or edges) defining the said slot or passage (120) are substantially contiguous.
  14. Assembly (1, 100) according to Claim 12 or 13, characterized in that, in the position in which the applicator (189) is mounted on the container, the said application element (104) lies between the compacting member (110) and a bottom (193) of the container, preferably between the compacting member (110) and the free surface of the composition, one portion of the said wand (103) being placed in the said passage or slot (120), and the said wand (103) being configured so that the said wand portion does not substantially compress the said foam element (110).
  15. Assembly (1, 100) according to any one of Claims 11 to 14, characterized in that the foam is a foam formed at least partly from closed-, open- or semi-open cells, especially a foam of an elastomer, in particular a polyurethane or polyether elastomer.
  16. Assembly (1, 100) according to any one of Claim 2 and any preceding claim which depends on it, characterized in that the pulverulent phase comprises pigments and/or nacres and/or fillers and/or flakes and/or mixtures thereof.
  17. Assembly (1, 100) according to Claim 16, characterized in that the pigments are chosen from titanium, zirconium or cerium dioxides, zinc, iron or chromium oxides, nanotitanium particles, nanozinc particles, ferric blue, carbon black, lacquers such as calcium, barium, aluminium or zirconium salts, acid dyes such as halo-acid, azo or anthraquinone dyes, pigments coated with silicone compounds, such as polydimethylsiloxanes, and/or with polymers, especially polyethylenes.
  18. Assembly (1, 100) according to Claim 16 or 17, characterized in that the fillers are chosen from talc, mica, silica, kaolin, nylon powder, poly-β-alanine and polyethylene powders, Teflon, lauryl-lysine, starch, boron nitride, bismuth oxychloride, tetrafluoroethylene polymer powders, polymethyl methacrylate powders, polyurethane powders, polystyrene powders, polyester powders, synthetic hollow microspheres, microsponges and microbeads of silicone resin, zinc and titanium oxides, zirconium or cerium oxides, precipitated calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate and hydrocarbonate, hydroxyapatite, hollow silica microspheres, glass or ceramic microcapsules and metal soaps derived from carboxylic organic acids having from 8 to 22 carbon atoms, preferably from 12 to 18 carbon atoms.
