Abstract

Ein Kopfband für Sportler, besteht aus mindestens einer Schicht (4, 5) aus kraftverteilendem Material, insbesondere Kunststoffschaum, welche Schicht oder Schichten (4, 5) ist bzw. sind mit in Abständen angebrachten Einschnitten (8) versehen, deren Längserstreckung im wesentlichen quer zur Längserstreckung des Kopfbandes (1) verläuft, die textile Umhüllung (6) elastisch ist. Dadurch wird eine einfache Anpassung an verschiedene Kopfgrößen erreicht. <IMAGE>

Description

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Kopfband für Sportler, bestehend aus mindestens einer Schicht aus kraftverteilendem Material, insbesondere Kunststoffschaum, welche Schicht oder Schichten mit einer textilen Umhüllung versehen ist bzw. sind.
Es ist bekannt, daß viele Sportunfälle Kopfverletzungen, teilweise schwerer Art, hervorrufen. Es werden daher insbesondere bei professionell durchgeführten Sportarten Helme als Kopfschutz verwendet. Derartige Helme werden jedoch sehr oft als unbequem empfunden, sodaß sie von Freizeitsportlern oft nicht getragen werden. Dazu kommt, daß die Anschaffung eines Helmes verhältnismäßig teuer ist.
Die US 5 946 734 A beschreibt ein mehrschichtiges Kopfband für Sportler in ein- oder zweiteiliger Ausführung, bestehend aus einer Schicht aus geschlossenzelligem, kraftverteilendem Schaum aus Polyurethan oder ähnlichem Material, aus einer offenzelligen Schicht aus Polyurethanschaum, einem äußeren Überzug in verschiedenen Formen bzw. Farben und einem inneren Überzug aus waschbarem Material sowie eventuell mit einem Klettverschluß zur Anpassung an verschiedene Kopfgrößen.
Ein derartiges Kopfband hat den Vorteil, daß es einfach zu gebrauchen und zu verstauen ist und daß auch dessen Anschaffung billiger ist, als die Anschaffung eines Helmes. Nachteilig ist jedoch, daß für verschiedene Kopfgrößen verschiedene Kopfbandgrößen oder ein Klettverschluß zur Anpassung an verschiedene Kopfgrößen erforderlich ist.
Die Erfindung hat es sich zum Ziel gesetzt, ein Kopfband der eingangs genannten Art zu schaffen, das ohne irgendwelche Handlungen zur Umstellung der Größe für verschiedene Kopfgrößen verwendbar ist. Erreicht wird dies dadurch, daß die Schicht oder Schichten mit den in Abständen angebrachten Einschnitten versehen ist bzw. sind, deren Längserstreckung im wesentlichen quer zur Längserstreckung des Kopfbandes verläuft, und daß die textile Umhüllung elastisch ist.
Bei einem erfindungsgemäßen Kopfband sind die Schlitze bei der kleinsten Kopfgröße bzw. bei Nichtgebrauch geschlossen, je nach notwendiger Größe öffnen sich die Schlitze mehr oder weniger und der Umfang des Kopfbandes wird größer. Bei Versuchen hat es sich gezeigt, daß dadurch eine automatische Anpassung an die üblichen Kopfgrößen, etwa 53 bis 63 cm erreichbar ist.
Bei einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung weist das Kopfband eine äußere Schicht aus Polyäthylen-Schaum und eine vorzugsweise damit verbundene innere Schicht aus Polyurethan-Schaum auf. Bei dieser Ausführungsform wirkt der Polyäthylen (PE) - Schaum als Hauptstoßdämpfer. Der darunter liegende Polyurethan (PU) - Schaum wirkt als weicher Krafiverteiler.
Um das Eindringen eines spitzen Gegenstandes, z.B. eines Steines, bis zum Kopf zu verhindern, wird erfindungsgemäß vorgeschlagen, daß über der Schicht aus Polyäthylen-Schaum eine Polystyrol-Folie angeordnet ist.
Nachstehend ist die Erfindung anhand eines in den Zeichnungen dargestellten Ausführungsbeispieles näher beschrieben, ohne auf dieses Beispiel beschränkt zu sein. Dabei zeigen:
  • Fig. 1 die Draufsicht auf ein erfindungsgemäßes Kopfband;
  • Fig. 2 eine Seitenansicht dieses Kopfbandes;
  • Fig. 3 einen Schnitt nach der Linie III - III in Fig. 1;
  • Fig. 4 einen Teil eines Kopfbandes in nicht gestrecktem Zustand und
  • Fig. 5 diesen Teil in gestrecktem Zustand.
    • Gemäß den Zeichnungen besteht ein in den Fig. 1 und 2 allgemein mit 1 bezeichnetes Kopfband aus einem Streifen, dessen Enden bei 2 miteinander verbunden sind, sodaß ein Ring entsteht. Die Seite 3 des Streifens 1, die bei bestimmungsgemäßen Gebrauch des Kopfbandes am Hinterkopf anliegt, ist verbreitert bzw. erhöht, weil erfahrungsgemäß dort am ehesten Kopfverletzungen entstehen könnten.
    Wie aus Fig. 3 ersichtlich ist, weist das Kopfband eine Schicht 4 aus PE-Schaum und eine damit verbundene Schicht 5 aus PU-Schaum auf. Beide Schichten 4 und 5 sind durch eine textile Umhüllung 6 aus elastischem Material umgeben. Außerhalb der äußeren Schicht 4 ist eine Polystyrol-Folie 7 angeordnet. Wie in Fig. 3 angedeutet ist, kann diese Folie 7 sowohl innerhalb als auch außerhalb der Umhüllung 6 vorgesehen sein. Die als Druckverteilerband wirkende Folie 7 ist nicht zu einem geschlossenen Ring verbunden.
    Aus den Fig. 4 und 5 ergibt sich, daß beide Schichten 4 und 5 mit in Abständen angebrachten Einschnitten 8 versehen sind, wobei die Längserstreckung dieser Einschnitte 8 im wesentlichen quer zur Längserstreckung des Kopfbandes verläuft. Diese Einschnitte werden zweckmäßig durch Stanzen angebracht.
    Es ergibt sich, daß im Ruhezustand des Kopfbandes die Einschnitte geschlossen sind (Fig. 4), wogegen bei einer Zugwirkung in Längsrichtung des Kopfbandes sich die Einschnitte 8 öffnen (Fig. 5). Dadurch wird der Durchmesser bzw. Umfang des Kopfbandes verändert. Es bedarf hiezu keinerlei zusätzlicher Handhabungen, das Kopfband kann einfach auf den Kopf aufgesetzt werden.
    Im Rahmen der Erfindung sind zahlreiche Abänderungen möglich. So müssen die Schichten bzw. die Schicht nicht unbedingt aus Schaumstoffen bestehen, es wäre z.B. auch die Anwendung von Filzen möglich. Auch ist die Verwendung eines erfindungsgemäßen Kopfbandes nicht nur für sich alleine möglich, ein solches Kopfband könnte auch in Skimützen oder dgl. eingearbeitet werden. Für das Druckverteilerband 7 könnte auch ein anderes Material gewählt werden. Die Einschnitte 8 könnten auch etwas schräg verlaufen.

    Claims (3)

    1. Kopfband für Sportler, bestehend aus mindestens einer Schicht (4, 5) aus kraftverteilendem Material, insbesondere Kunststoffschaum, welche Schicht oder Schichten (4, 5) mit einer textilen Umhüllung (6) versehen ist bzw. sind, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Schicht oder Schichten (4, 5) mit in Abständen angebrachten Einschnitten (8) versehen ist bzw. sind, deren Längserstreckung im wesentlichen quer zur Längserstreckung des Kopfbandes (1) verläuft, und daß die textile Umhüllung (6) elastisch ist.
    2. Kopfband nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es eine äußere Schicht (4) aus Polyäthylen-Schaum und eine vorzugsweise damit verbundene innere Schicht (5) aus Polyurethan-Schaum aufweist.
    3. Kopfband nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß über der Schicht (4) aus Polyäthylen-Schaum eine Polystyrol-Folie (7) angeordnet ist.
