Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Kraftstoffversorgungsanlage für eine Brennkraftmaschine mit einer den Kraftstoff aus einem Tank über eine Förderleitung zur Brennkraftmaschine fördernden Kraftstoffpumpe sowie mit einem Druckregler, der den für die Brennkraftmaschine relevanten Kraftstoffdruck wahlweise auf unterschiedliche Druckniveaus einstellt. Um Heißstartprobleme oder generell Betriebsprobleme durch Dampfbalsenbildung einfach und sicher zu vermeiden, ist der Druckregler in der Förderleitung angeordnet und die Kraftstoffpumpe aus zwei Pumpenaggregaten gebildet, die in Abhängigkeit vom eingeregelten Druckniveau parallel oder in Reihe geschaltet fördern. Bevorzugt sind in der Förderleitung in Reihe zwei Druckregler mit unterschiedlichen Druck-Regelwerten angeordnet, die wahlweise durch Verbindung von deren Absteuerleitung mit einer im Tank mündenden Rückführleitung aktivierbar sind. Die beiden Pumpenaggregate können mittels eines Umschaltventiles oder selbsttätig mittels eines in einer geeignet angeordneten Leitungsverbindung vorgesehenen Druckbegrenzungsventiles in Abhängigkeit vom jeweils seitens des Druckreglers eingestellten Druckwert in Reihe oder parallel fördernd geschaltet werden.

The invention relates to a fuel supply system for an internal combustion engine with a fuel pump which delivers the fuel from a tank via a delivery line to the internal combustion engine and with a pressure regulator which optionally adjusts the fuel pressure relevant for the internal combustion engine to different pressure levels. In order to easily and safely avoid hot start problems or general operating problems caused by the formation of steam balls, the pressure regulator is arranged in the delivery line and the fuel pump consists of two pump units that deliver in parallel or in series depending on the regulated pressure level. Two pressure regulators with different pressure control values are preferably arranged in series in the delivery line, which can be activated optionally by connecting their cut-off line to a return line leading into the tank. The two pump units can be connected in series or in parallel by means of a change-over valve or automatically by means of a pressure relief valve provided in a suitably arranged line connection, depending on the pressure value set by the pressure regulator.
