Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a packaging envelope according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the invention relates more particularly to packaging of confectionery and chocolate products or other consumer products such as, for example, cubes of broth.
  • items are packaged individually in a pre-printed rectangular film of a size and shape appropriate, which individually wrapped articles may, on their turn, be packaged in bulk in a packing bag of one appropriate dimension.
  • the article to be packaged is, according to a common method of packing, placed in the center of the back, that is to say, the unprinted side of a film rectangular.
  • We note or fold depending on the orientation of the article and type of packaging machine) then vertically the two sections longitudinals against the longitudinal faces of the article.
  • the packaging ends with the folding of the upper edges in the meantime become trapezoidal tongues) longitudinal, one on the other, on the upper base of the article.
  • This problem manifests itself, in particular, during packing small items such as confectionery products, such as candies, pralines, lollipops, barley sugars, chocolate bars, etc., or bouillon cubes.
  • confectionery products such as candies, pralines, lollipops, barley sugars, chocolate bars, etc., or bouillon cubes.
  • the films comprise, on the front side, that is to say on the outer side of the article to be packaged, a coating structure of heat sealing, the configuration of which is adapted to the configuration of the folds made during packing.
  • This packaging process has the disadvantage that the machine packaging must be specially adapted to this process as far as where you need a source of heat.
  • this heat source is consisting of hot plates, the collage can not be realized only on perfectly flat surfaces of the article to be packaged and requires, in addition to the time required to complete the weld, a relatively large pressure that do not support a certain number of products.
  • Another disadvantage is that this packaging process is totally unsuitable for the packaging of heat-sensitive articles, in particular chocolate products, and does not allow the selection of a substrate packaging having a low temperature resistance.
  • Patent Application EP-0 870 695 proposes a film wrapping intended to be closed by folding around the article, the face-up, that is to say the face on the outside of the article, comprises a cold-sealing coating structure arranged according to a configuration such that these areas of sealant are superimposed by folding the film around the article. These areas of sealing plaster ensure, therefore, the retention of folds when the material of the film has the particularity of not keeping folds.
  • This film however, has a fusible varnish that holds the film closed and which has the drawbacks mentioned above.
  • the film has the disadvantage that the back side release strips to be able to unwind the film from a roll.
  • EP 0 225 987 discloses a packaging film which possesses on the front side and the back side of cold seal plating beaches. in particular, two longitudinal strips on the front side, respectively on the reverse side.
  • these different adhesive pads must be arranged such in such a way that they do not overlap when winding up. superposition would cause, in fact, a membership between these different tracks and prevent unwinding of the roll film.
  • this constraint as regards the arrangement of the adhesive pads, imposes constraints corresponding to the folding configuration and the packaging process.
  • EP-0 870 695 does not provide of cold sealant than on the front side. So there is no risk of mutual overlapping during winding.
  • this document provides a fusible varnish on the reverse side, which leads to the disadvantages already mentioned.
  • EP-0 225 987 chooses a provision particular cold seal coatings on the back side compared to those on the front side or vice versa, so that during winding, coatings of two adjacent turns are arranged side by side and that there is no overlay.
  • This solution imposes constraints for the packaging process as far as designing the folding configuration according to the location of the adhesive pads whereas it is the opposite which is desired.
  • the object of the present invention is to provide a new packaging which considerably broadens the choice of film used and allows conditioning the roll film without any constraint with respect to regards the packaging mode.
  • the present invention provides an envelope packaging material according to claim 1.
  • the Applicant has made the surprising discovery that coating preliminary, at least partial, of the film used as packaging envelope with a well-defined cold seal, allows to obtain, after closing of the packaging film by folding, folds presenting a excellent retention and also allows the conditioning of the film roller.
  • the substance used as a sealant does not shows little or no adhesion to a smooth surface or surface treated for this purpose but, on the other hand, has good adhesion when applied on itself, which is the case when folding.
  • the retention of the folds is therefore ensured simply by a slight pressure and mutual overlapping of some coating areas of sealing and this without other accessories than those required for folding of the packaging.
  • cold sealing there is meant a sealing that takes place instantly, by simple contact, at a temperature between 0 and 50 ° C.
  • the temperature is not a critical parameter for obtaining a seal by means of a cold sealant and has virtually no influence on the quality the seal obtained. Sealing is done without the need for additional heat is necessary at room temperature the space in which the packaging unit is located.
  • cold sealants have, until now, mostly used in layers on a substrate that does not undergo or deformation. We can expect, in fact, important problems of blocking due to the self-adhering properties of the cold sealant in all the use of this cold seal coating on a non substrate plan.
  • the present invention thus allows the use of cheaper films and having better properties (rigidity, printability, aesthetic quality) for repackaging of articles without restriction as to the form of said articles.
  • the present application provides a solution completely different, which was considered impossible until now and which is to tolerate the mutual superposition of certain adhesive pads when the film is rolled.
  • the invention provides the choice of a well-defined cold scouring coating that presents what is defined in the application by a "controlled adhesion", that is to say Adhesion powerful enough for the needs of the cause but which is insufficient to oppose repeated takeoffs.
  • the film can so be repeatedly reeling from a storage roll without exaggerated resistance.
  • the structure of the zones of sealing plaster has, on the front side, two structures of bands arranged in a W-shape along the two opposite sides of the film, a strip along a third side of the film and between two W-shaped structures and two zones in both corners of the fourth side of the film.
  • the sealing plaster strips arranged according to the configuration of folding can have a width of the order of 4 mm.
  • the configuration of the sealant strip structure can have different shapes depending on the article to be packaged and depending on the folding sequences.
  • each film may have a sealant strip along an edge from a third side.
  • This band will be on the tongue which at the end of the packaging process, will be folded in the first place on the basis of the article to be packaged and will ensure adhesion with the tongue that will be folded in the last place.
  • Each film of packaging film may, in in addition, have additional areas of sealant the adhesion of the tongue which is folded last on the base the packaged article and thereby contribute to maintaining the closed state of the packaging.
  • the adhesion achieved the mutual overlapping of the cold-sealing coating strips is not not irreversible because it must allow a sequence of the film when it is conditioned and stored in roll without risk of breaking the film.
  • This controlled adhesion has, moreover, the advantage of being able to open the package and close it again and again without any decrease sensitive qualities of adhesion.
  • substrates appropriate are plastic films of about 10 to 100 microns in extruded and oriented polypropylene, made of polypropylene film cast, of polyester, polyethylene, extruded and oriented polyamide, or polyamide-in the form of cast film.
  • a paper substrate (rubbed or coated).
  • everything carrier material or flexible packaging material may be suitable as substrate according to the present invention.
  • These different substrates can consist of a single layer, a single metallized layer or several layers laminated and / or coextruded.
  • pressure-sensitive adhesives are compositions based on natural and / or synthetic rubber associated with modified cellophanes, phenol-formaldehyde resins or hydrocarbon resins (waxes).
  • rubbers it is widely used polymers based on styrene, (metha) crylic acid or ether vinyl, alone or as a mixture, also in combination with resins.
  • silicone resins we use preferably, compositions comprising rubber mixtures and synthetic and copolymers of (metha) crylic acid and styrene.
  • the cold seal coats are disposed on the substrates at a rate of about 1 to about 5 g / m 2 .
  • Cold sealing coatings can be applied in the form of solution, dispersion or even in the molten state.
  • Figure 1 shows the front side, or printed side, of a film of packaging 20 after it has been cut from a film unrolled from a storage roll (not shown) in the direction shown by arrow A on the face.
  • the cold sealer is arranged in a structure 22 which is adapted to the configuration of the fold lines made during the packaging and an example of which will be described later.
  • a structure 22 which is adapted to the configuration of the fold lines made during the packaging and an example of which will be described later.
  • On the opposite side to that of Band 28 are also, in the corner regions, two zones 30 and 32 of cold sealant.
  • the strips 24, 26 are along the longitudinal edges while the band 28 is transverse.
  • these different strips of adhesive coating on the front side are on the outside of the different turns of the roller.
  • the film 20 of FIG. 1 can be prepared by depositing, front side of an oriented polypropylene film 25 microns thick, metallized or not, a thin layer of printing or primer (for example, product 10-612205-4 MX41 from the company SIEGWERCK) intended for improve the adhesion of the printing ink.
  • a thin layer of printing or primer for example, product 10-612205-4 MX41 from the company SIEGWERCK
  • a lacquer of protection known per se.
  • the next operation is to close down the central region of each side of the film with the structures 24 and 26 on the faces side of the candy 34 as shown in Figure 3.
  • This operation is made by folding with the longitudinal sides of the film 20 following oblique fold lines 36 and 38.
  • the two W-shaped structures 24 and 26 (26 not visible on the FIG. 3) of the sealing plaster are arranged in such a way that the two outer members of the W-shaped structures along the fold lines 36, 38 and that the V-shaped inner part is applied to the side cross section of candy 34.
  • the next operation is to fold down, on each side of the candy 34, the two sections delimited by the fold lines 36 and 38 towards the inside in the direction of arrows 1 and 2 in Figure 3.
  • This operation place the outer strips of sealant-shaped structures of W, that is to say those along the fold lines 36 and 38, on the strips internal V-shaped and leads to the configuration according to Figure 4.
  • These folding sequences are obviously the same on both sides side of the candy. Since all the bands of the two structures 24 in the form of W and 26 are superimposed totally and that the cold sealant used adheres perfectly to itself, the configuration of Figure 4 is a stable configuration with a perfect retention of folds achieved so far.
  • the next folding sequence is shown in FIG. 5 and consists of folding the lower parts of the side panels previously folded and folded, on the underside of the candy 34. This operation is made by folding with the longitudinal sides along lines oblique folds 40, 42, 44, 46 which transform the longitudinal sides into trapezoidal tabs 48, 50.
  • Figure 6 represents a view from below and from the hidden face in the previous figures.
  • the two zones 30 and 32 of plaster of cold seals are arranged so that their oblique edges interiors (see also Figure 1) run along the fold lines 40 and 42 of the tongue 48 as can be seen in Figure 6.
  • Figures 7 and 8 illustrate the last phases of the package.
  • the tongue 50 provided with the sealing plaster band 28, is folded on the inside as shown in Figure 7.
  • the second tab 48 is then folded on the tab 50 to form the configuration of Figure 8.
  • packaging sequences described below are performed automatically in a packaging machine.
  • the proposed packaging films suitable for existing packaging machines without any need for modification or adaptation.
  • the packaging described below is just one example of a configuration of folding of a determined machine. Other machines can perform folds in different fold line configurations. In this case, it would be appropriate to adapt the model of adhesive structures shown in FIG. 1 to the configuration of the fold lines produced by the machine folding, the opposite being more difficult.
  • FIGS. 1 to 8 are an example of an advantageous application of a packaging casing according to the present invention which will be described with reference to the following figures. These figures 1 to 8 do not form however, not the subject of the present invention.
  • FIG. 10 represents an advantageous embodiment of a packaging film according to the present invention and generally designated by reference 56.
  • Suitable anti-adhesive products consist of mixtures of polyamide resin and polyethylene wax (for example the products 10-609345-3P from SIEGWERCK and 994404-X from SICPA) deposited at a rate of 1.5 g / m 2 .
  • Suitable anti-adhesive products consist of mixtures of polyamide resin and polyethylene wax (for example the products 10-609345-3P from SIEGWERCK and 994404-X from SICPA) deposited at a rate of 1.5 g / m 2 .
  • On this coating then apply patterns 22 of cold sealant identical to those of Figure 1.
  • On the back side then is applied approximately between the zones 30 and 32 of the front side and, as shown in dashed lines at 58, a band of cold dry coating coating.
  • the adhesive strip 58 will be found, at the end of the packaging operation (see Figure 7), the inner side of the tongue 48 and, during the folding thereof, it will adhere to the adhesive strip 28 of the tongue 50 to form an almost hermetic packaging.
  • the adhesive strips 58 on the back are generally in contact with the non-stick coating 60 on the front to which they do not adhere.
  • the bands 58 are nevertheless also, as and when winding and after a number of turns, in contact with 28. This time, as a result of the choice of the nature of the adhesive strips 28 and 58 and its controlled adhesion, there is also possibility of taking off and unwinding the film of a roll, without animating the film and without significantly reducing the adhesive properties strips 28 and 58.
  • a film made in this way can be unrolled and rolled up up to ten times of a coil without losing the adhesive properties necessary for the formation of a closed package.
  • FIG. 12 represents a simplified variant of the mode of embodiment of FIG. 10.
  • the film 62 comprises simply, on the back side, along one of the edges (transverse by compared to the roll film before cutting), a strip of coating of cold seal 64 corresponding to the band 58 of FIG. 10 and, on the opposite edge, on the front side, another cold sealing strip 66, corresponding to band 28 in Figure 10.
  • the constitution of the film may be as described above with reference to FIG. strips 64 and 66 have been shown, by way of illustration, and as shown previously, in ovoid form to facilitate detachment during unwinding the roll.
