Abstract

A self-closing closure which can be integrated into a discharge opening of a container, cap part or the like, and includes an upper wall section (6) containing a through opening (9) and a sealing tappet (11) which protrudes from an inner section (10) of the closure and engages with the through opening from beneath the upper wall section. The configuration of the upper wall section (6), at least on the upper surface thereof, can be adapted to the shape of the wall (3) of the container such as to be flush therewith, and furthermore it is formed elastically deformable at at least an actuating portion (6') thereof so that the actuating portion is deformable in elastically concave manner by an external manual force exerted thereon. A conveying member (13) is provided for converting the concave deformation of the actuating area into a relative movement between the sealing tappet (11) and the through opening (9) so as to release the latter whereby the contents of the container can be discharged.

Description

The invention relates to a self-closing closure for installation in a dispensing opening in a container, cap part or the like.
A known generic closure (DE-A-42 14 153) comprises a rigid upper part which is connected via a membrane-like flexible connecting wall to a rigid inner part, which on the one hand can be screwed onto a container neck and on the other hand from which a stationary sealing pin protrudes. The sealing pin can engage in a passage opening in the upper part if there is no external force acting on it. In contrast, a lifting force on the upper part causes the sealing pin to be brought out of the sealing engagement with the passage opening. The known closure has a comparatively complicated, manufacturing-unfavorable structure. A particular disadvantage is that it is not suitable for being able to be adapted to a given configuration, for example the rounding of a container, without significantly impairing its appearance. A self-closing closure with a similar structure is also known from DE-A-23 40 319. The appearance of this closure is significantly impaired by an exposed connection wall. The invention has for its object to provide a self-closing closure of the type mentioned, which with a simplified, inexpensive and user-friendly structure offers the possibility for the greatest possible integration and adaptation to the configuration of the part whose donation opening is to be closed.
This object is achieved according to the invention by means of a self-closing closure for installation in a dispensing opening in a container, cap part or the like, with an upper wall part containing a passage opening and a sealing pin which engages in the passage opening from the underside of the upper wall part and protrudes from an inner closure part and under the action a force exerted on the top wall part against a prestressing force can be brought from the sealing engagement with the passage opening, the top wall part according to the invention at least on the top side having a configuration which can be adapted flush to the surface contour of the container and being designed to be elastically flexible at least in one actuation area, so that the actuation area below a hand force exerted thereon is elastically concavely deformable, and means are provided to convert the concave deformation of the actuation area into a relative movement between the di chaps and the passage opening. The closure is characterized by an upper wall part, which can be designed to be completely or partially flexible, so that a force exerted on it by an operator's finger or thumb can cause a concave indentation. Without such a carpet, on the other hand, the top wall part creates an essentially smooth outer surface, which is a continuation of the adjacent surface of a container or other Can represent component on which the closure is mounted. The closure therefore practically does not affect the external configuration of the component. The movement created by the indentation of the upper wall part under the said force is used with simple means in order to generate a relative movement between a through opening in the upper wall part and a sealing pin interacting therewith, so that the sealing pin can be disengaged from the through opening. A particularly preferred embodiment of the invention which is favorable in terms of production technology provides for this purpose that the sealing pin is pivotally held on the inner part of the closure and the bulge of the upper wall part can be transferred to the sealing pin via a simple transmission member. In this embodiment, the inner closure part with the sealing pin could also be an integral part of the component, so that only the top wall part would have to be added. The upper wall part and the inner part of the closure can, however, also represent separate parts which are subsequently inserted into a dispensing opening of the component in question. In any case, an aesthetically pleasing smooth outer surface is obtained in the area of the dispensing opening, which is largely adapted to the configuration of the component and can be printed, for example, with advertising information such as the adjacent wall areas of the component, without the print image being impaired.

Although the invention is described below in connection with the closure of a dispensing opening provided in a container wall, it is understood that the invention also for closing other openings or recesses, e.g. in caps, can be used and is therefore not limited to the described field of application.
As shown in FIG. 1, the self-closing closure according to the invention is arranged in a dispensing opening (not designated) in the wall 3 of a container 2. The closure comprises an upper wall part 6 which, as shown, can align flush with the container wall 3 on the upper side and is supported on supports 7, 8 formed on the container 2.
The top wall part 6 can have any circumferential configuration adapted to the outline configuration of the dispensing opening in order to create a flush continuation of the curved container wall 3.
A passage opening 9 is provided in the upper wall part 6 at a location near a radially offset circumferential area, into which a sealing pin 11 can engage in a sealing manner. The sealing pin 11 is on a closure inner part 10 integrally formed, and in particular on a resilient connecting member 12 in the form of, for example, a U-shaped cutout from the inner closure part 10, so that the connecting member 12, which carries the sealing pin 11 at one end, is connected to the inner closure part 10 at its other end. The link 12 can therefore be pivoted together with the sealing pin 11 out of the plane of the inner closure part 10, whereby it springs back into the starting position shown in FIG. 1 in the plane of the inner closure part 10 due to the natural elasticity of the material if there is no outer surface on the link 12 Acts force. The external force can be exerted by an operator's thumb or finger, as shown in Fig. 1A.
The top wall part 6 is structurally elastic at least in some areas and / or consists of an elastic material, for example an elastomeric material, which yields under the action of an external force with the formation of a dent, as shown in FIG. 1A at 6 ', in the following also the actuating area called, is shown. On the link 12, a path transmission member 13 is also formed in the form of a tongue, which abuts with its free end on the underside of the upper wall part 6 or is in other suitable engagement, so that a movement of the upper wall part 6 at its actuating region 6 'to a rectified Movement of the link 12 can lead. Due to the elastic properties of the upper wall part 6 on the one hand and the connecting member 12 on the other hand, both parts will spring back into the starting position shown in FIG. 1 as soon as the force exerted on the upper wall part 1 is removed. When the parts are returned to the starting position, the grips Sealing pin 11 into the passage opening 9 in the upper wall part 6 in order to close it. When the force acts, on the other hand, the sealing pin 11 disengages from the passage opening 9, so that a medium in the container can flow outwards along the sealing pin 11 and through the passage opening 9, as indicated by the arrow in FIG. 1A.
If desired, the top wall part 6 can be elastic in its entirety or only at its actuation area 6 '. Furthermore, for the assembly of the inner closure part 10 on the container wall 3, a continuous or subdivided locking sleeve 4 can be formed with a locking collar 5 at the free end, which can engage under the inner closure part 10.
Wie dargestellt, ist der Wippenteil 121 an einem die Durchtrittsöffnung 9 untergreifenden Ringelement 123 angelenkt, um die Hebebewegung des Oberwandteils 6 nahe der Durchtrittsöffnung 9 zu steuern.2 and 2A show a second embodiment of the invention, in which the same or similar parts as in the first embodiment have the same reference numerals and need not be described again. The second embodiment has an inner closure part 100 which carries the sealing pin 11 and is essentially rigid, so that the sealing pin 11 is held stationary. In contrast, it is provided that the top wall part 6 undergoes deformation not only at the actuation area 6 ′ but also in the area of the passage opening 9 under a force exerted thereon, in order to lift it out of engagement with the sealing pin 11. In particular, a trestle or support part 120 is formed on the inner closure part 100, on which a rocker part 121 which is in contact with the upper wall part 6 at its actuating region 6 'rests and which can be pivoted downward around the support 120 if the upper wall part 6 is moved as a result of the The force exerted on the fingers or thumb of an operator causes a dent. This movement of the The rocker part 121 is expressed in a movement in the opposite direction at the other end of the rocker part 121, which is transmitted to the upper wall part 6 in the area of the passage opening 9 and causes a convex deformation of the upper wall part 6 at the passage opening 9, so that the latter moves away from the sealing pin 11 as shown in Fig. 2A. In this position, as indicated by the arrows in FIG. 2A, a medium in the container 2 can flow through one or more openings 122 provided in the inner closure part 100 into the area between the inner closure part and the upper wall part and from there through the passage opening 9 to the outside. As shown, the rocker part 121 is articulated on an annular element 123 which grips under the passage opening 9 in order to control the lifting movement of the upper wall part 6 near the passage opening 9.
Die Bewegung des Hülsenteils 212 wird durch die Eingriffnahme mit dem Zylinderteil 213 gesteuert.3 and 3A show a third embodiment of the invention, in which the same or similar parts as in the second embodiment shown in FIGS. 2 and 2A bear the same reference numerals and therefore do not need to be described again. The embodiment according to FIGS. 3, 3A differs from that according to FIGS. 2, 2A essentially in that the rocker part 121 is articulated at one end to a sleeve part 212, which is axially guided in the manner of a piston-cylinder arrangement in a cylinder part 213, which is on the inner closure part 100 is formed concentrically to the circumferentially perforated sealing pin 11. The sleeve part 212 engages under the top wall part 6 circumferentially of the passage opening 9 similarly to the ring element 123 of the second embodiment. A force exerted on the rocker part 121 at one end of the support 120 therefore causes the sleeve part 212 to move in the opposite direction and thus a convex protuberance of the upper wall part 6 circumferentially of the passage opening 9. The movement of the sleeve part 212 is controlled by the engagement with the cylinder part 213.
In the position of the upper wall part 6 near the passage opening 9 shown in FIG. 3A, a medium can flow from the inside of the container 2 along the arrows through openings 214 in the sealing pin 11 into the interior of the cylinder part 213 and from there through the sleeve part 212 via the passage opening 9 get outside.
