Abstract

The device has a forming tool (2) with upper and lower forming dies (4,3). The upper forming tool is coupled via a piston-cylinder-unit (9) containing a hydraulic fluid, to a press ram (12) of a mechanical press, so as to be relatively moveable to a limited degree. The cylinder chamber (19) of the unit is in fluid-connection with the inner chamber of the tubular part (BT). Alternatively, the cylinder chamber is similar connected to the forming chamber of the forming tool.
