Verfahren zum Dispergieren von unlöslichen mineralischen Sedimenten, nämlich Tonen, in einer überwiegend Wasser enthaltenden Flüssigkeit (im folgenden Wasser) , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das mineralische Sediment in pulverisierter Form mit einem Gemisch aus einem kristallinen Säuerungsmittel und einer unter Reaktion mit dem gelösten Säuerungsmittel gasabgebenden Substanz homogen gemischt wird, anschließend dem Wasser beigefügt wird, wobei durch die nachfolgende Entwicklung von Gasbläschen unter Reaktion des Säuerungsmittels mit der gasabgebenden Substanz eine Dispergierung des pulverigen mineralischen Sedi en- tes erfolgt.1.
