Definitions
- the present invention relates to a blade guard for a blade of a knife, scissors or the like.
- the blade must be protected against breakage, dirt and the like, and transport personnel, sales personnel, buyers, etc. must be protected from the blade edge.
- packaging at least for the blade, for the period between manufacture and use.
- the product must be provided with information, labeled and labeled in the usual way.
- knife sheaths made of different materials.
- Plastic sleeves, but also paper sleeves and the like are used. These usually simulate the blade contour and usually have very one-sided protective properties.
- a paper cover or sheath made of soft plastic protects people from the cutting edge, but not a blade from breakage.
- the blade can be easily removed from the vagina for viewing purposes, so that it itself and the viewer are at risk again. Corresponding sheaths are also easily lost.
- a package for knives and the like is known from EP 0 819 618 A1, which covers the cutting edge in a protective manner and leaves the handle free to touch, with a front and a self-adhesive rear film on both sides Cover the cutting edge overlapping and the overlapping areas of the film are glued together.
- the film ends facing the handle of the knife have a non-adhesive handle for tearing open the packaging. Due to the arrangement of the non-adhesive handles at the end of the blade or at the transition to the handle, this part of the blade, which is a frequently occurring breaking point, is not fully stabilized and is therefore not effectively protected.
- blister-like packaging in which the knives, scissors and the like are welded onto a carrier with welding foil as a whole.
- These packaging are usually very unsightly, bulky and represent an increased cost of materials.
- the present invention has for its object to provide a blade guard that can be created with little effort in material and with little manufacturing effort, which is captive, an effective protection for both the blade and people, at the same time as Information carrier in the form of a label can be used and moreover allows the product to be viewed and checked as far as possible.
- the invention proposes a blade guard for a blade of a knife, scissors or the like during transport, offering, exhibiting, selling and the like, consisting of two essentially congruent partial surfaces formed in one piece, at least one of which is at least one a surface is provided with an adhesive essentially over the entire surface and which the blade can be glued to one another between them, characterized in that the two partial surfaces are connected to one another along a perforated folding edge and at least one of the partial surfaces has a protrusion protruding from the congruence region.
- two substantially congruent partial surfaces formed in one piece of which at least one is provided with adhesive on its surface. Both parts of the blade are glued together between them. Since the surface provided with adhesive is essentially adhesive over the entire surface, the two partial surfaces stick to one another, and the film also sticks to the corresponding blade surface. The blade guard is thus captively arranged on the blade until it is completely removed.
- Providing adhesive over the entire surface means that at least the partial surface areas projecting beyond the blade can be glued to one another and at least at one point the partial surface can be glued to the blade.
- the partial areas have a contour that is larger than the blade contour at least in partial areas. In particular, the blade should be covered along the cutting edge by protruding and glued partial areas.
- At least one of the partial areas has an overhang protruding from the congruence area. This can serve as a handle for removing the blade guard from the blade, since the protrusion is easy to grasp.
- the partial surfaces are essentially rectangular, and the edges can be rounded for design reasons.
- the invention proposes that at least one of the partial areas is in turn divided into surface segments. This can be done, for example, by arranging a perforation. This makes it possible to prevent the entire blade guard from being pulled off easily. On the one hand, the protection is better guaranteed, on the other hand, the blade is also protected against willful manipulation. The blade guard can also be used to secure sales.
- the blade guard can be made of paper, plastic or combinations. At least one of the sub-areas is an adhesive film. It is particularly advantageous if the two partial surfaces are formed integrally with one another from a rectangular piece of adhesive film. The adhesive film only has to be folded and glued around the blade. One of the partial surfaces is preferably completely or at least partially transparent. At least one of the partial areas is designed as an information carrier, i. H. colored, printed or deposited. Information can be product information, manufacturer information, price information and the like.
- An easily removable pressure sensitive adhesive is preferably used as the adhesive, which is also selected in accordance with other boundary conditions, for example food-safe and the like.
- the adhesive properties must on the one hand ensure that the blade guard is held securely on the blade and between the partial surfaces, and on the other hand allow the blade guard to be easily removed from the blade.
- the invention provides a blade guard that is easy to manufacture and effective. It can be, for example, a blade guard in the form of a label, which can be created as an endlessly printable set of forms using known means. Such labels consisting of adhesive film can be printed with the appropriate information and applied mechanically to finished blades.
- the blade is itself against breakage and Contamination protected, at the same time the cutting edge is covered and thus people are protected against unintentional cuts. By choosing a transparent partial surface area, however, the blade can be viewed completely, and the blade guard can be easily removed without being easily lost.
- a blade guard 1 consists of an adhesive film made of plastic or paper, which is provided on one surface with an easily releasable pressure sensitive adhesive.
- the blade guard 1 is arranged, for example, as a plastic label on a perforated edge support and can therefore be easily printed on with laser printers and the like.
- Two partial areas 3 and 4 are formed by the printing, partial area 3 being printed with information 6, while partial area 4 has remained as a transparent partial area.
- a partial surface 3 is formed in the embodiment shown, a protrusion 5.

Description
The present invention relates to a blade guard for a blade of a knife, scissors or the like.
Between the manufacture and sale of corresponding products, the blade must be protected against breakage, dirt and the like, and transport personnel, sales personnel, buyers, etc. must be protected from the blade edge. Thus there is a need for packaging, at least for the blade, for the period between manufacture and use. In addition, the product must be provided with information, labeled and labeled in the usual way.
It is known in the prior art to use so-called knife sheaths made of different materials. Plastic sleeves, but also paper sleeves and the like are used. These usually simulate the blade contour and usually have very one-sided protective properties. For example, a paper cover or sheath made of soft plastic protects people from the cutting edge, but not a blade from breakage. In addition, the blade can be easily removed from the vagina for viewing purposes, so that it itself and the viewer are at risk again. Corresponding sheaths are also easily lost.
A package for knives and the like is known from EP 0 819 618 A1, which covers the cutting edge in a protective manner and leaves the handle free to touch, with a front and a self-adhesive rear film on both sides Cover the cutting edge overlapping and the overlapping areas of the film are glued together. The film ends facing the handle of the knife have a non-adhesive handle for tearing open the packaging. Due to the arrangement of the non-adhesive handles at the end of the blade or at the transition to the handle, this part of the blade, which is a frequently occurring breaking point, is not fully stabilized and is therefore not effectively protected.
Furthermore, especially in the self-service area, blister-like packaging is known, in which the knives, scissors and the like are welded onto a carrier with welding foil as a whole. These packaging are usually very unsightly, bulky and represent an increased cost of materials.
Starting from the known prior art, the present invention has for its object to provide a blade guard that can be created with little effort in material and with little manufacturing effort, which is captive, an effective protection for both the blade and people, at the same time as Information carrier in the form of a label can be used and moreover allows the product to be viewed and checked as far as possible.
To achieve the technical solution to the problem, the invention proposes a blade guard for a blade of a knife, scissors or the like during transport, offering, exhibiting, selling and the like, consisting of two essentially congruent partial surfaces formed in one piece, at least one of which is at least one a surface is provided with an adhesive essentially over the entire surface and which the blade can be glued to one another between them, characterized in that the two partial surfaces are connected to one another along a perforated folding edge and at least one of the partial surfaces has a protrusion protruding from the congruence region.
According to the invention, two substantially congruent partial surfaces formed in one piece, of which at least one is provided with adhesive on its surface. Providing adhesive over the entire surface means that at least the partial surface areas projecting beyond the blade can be glued to one another and at least at one point the partial surface can be glued to the blade. The partial areas have a contour that is larger than the blade contour at least in partial areas. In particular, the blade should be covered along the cutting edge by protruding and glued partial areas.
According to a further advantageous proposal of the invention, at least one of the partial areas has an overhang protruding from the congruence area. This can serve as a handle for removing the blade guard from the blade, since the protrusion is easy to grasp.
Advantageously, the partial surfaces are essentially rectangular, and the edges can be rounded for design reasons. In addition, the invention proposes that at least one of the partial areas is in turn divided into surface segments. This can be done, for example, by arranging a perforation. This makes it possible to prevent the entire blade guard from being pulled off easily. On the one hand, the protection is better guaranteed, on the other hand, the blade is also protected against willful manipulation. The blade guard can also be used to secure sales.
The blade guard can be made of paper, plastic or combinations.
An easily removable pressure sensitive adhesive is preferably used as the adhesive, which is also selected in accordance with other boundary conditions, for example food-safe and the like. The adhesive properties must on the one hand ensure that the blade guard is held securely on the blade and between the partial surfaces, and on the other hand allow the blade guard to be easily removed from the blade.
The invention provides a blade guard that is easy to manufacture and effective. It can be, for example, a blade guard in the form of a label, which can be created as an endlessly printable set of forms using known means. Such labels consisting of adhesive film can be printed with the appropriate information and applied mechanically to finished blades. The blade is itself against breakage and Contamination protected, at the same time the cutting edge is covered and thus people are protected against unintentional cuts. By choosing a transparent partial surface area, however, the blade can be viewed completely, and the blade guard can be easily removed without being easily lost.

A blade guard 1 consists of an adhesive film made of plastic or paper, which is provided on one surface with an easily releasable pressure sensitive adhesive. The blade guard 1 is arranged, for example, as a plastic label on a perforated edge support and can therefore be easily printed on with laser printers and the like. Two partial areas 3 and 4 are formed by the printing, partial area 3 being printed with information 6, while partial area 4 has remained as a transparent partial area. A partial surface 3 is formed in the embodiment shown, a protrusion 5.
A knife blade 2 is arranged on a knife handle 10 and in the usual way has a cutting edge 7, an essentially straight upper edge 8 and a tip 9.
The blade guard 1 is folded along the separating edge between the partial surfaces 3 and 4 and the two partial surfaces 3 and 4 are each on one of the two Glued surfaces of the knife blade 2. The areas of the partial areas 3 and 4 which protrude from the blade are glued to one another. In this case, the bonding area is preferably arranged to cover the cutting edge 7, while the free edges of the blade guard 1 also run along the essentially straight upper edge 8. The protrusion 5 protrudes easily from the composite and thus makes it easier to remove the blade guard 1 from the knife blade 2. The partial surface 3 with the information 6 printed on it can be seen on one surface, and the knife blade on the other surface through the transparent partial surface 4 2 fully observable.
The arrangement of the blade guard 1 means that the product remains fully observable and assessable, while the knife blade 2 is secured against contamination and breakage and the blade guard 1 is a protection for people. By choosing a suitable film, the composite area between the partial surfaces 3 and 4 projecting beyond the blade 2 represents a stiff area which does not bend under normal circumstances, so that the product presentation offers a very neat appearance in a sales-promoting manner.
The exemplary embodiment described is only for explanation and is not restrictive. In particular, the area division can be varied. The partial surfaces do not have to be transparent or printed over the entire surface, they do not have to be formed in one piece and can also be divided into surface segments, for example by perforations or the like.
