Abstract

A fuel feed apparatus comprises a bottom plate 4a for closing the opening at the bottom of a fuel tank and a lateral wall 4b integrally formed with the bottom plate 4a, the space defined by the lateral wall 4b forms a sub-tank 16 in the fuel tank. A fuel pump 5 and a strainer 6 or a pressure regulator 7 are arranged within the space and the fuel returned by the pressure regulator 7 is put back into the sub-tank 16. A lid 40 having a connecting member 41 provided with a fuel flow path is fitted to the top of the lateral wall 4b to connect the fuel pump 5 and the strainer 6. The connecting member 41 holds the fuel pump 5 and the strainer 6 from above. With the above arrangement, the fuel feed apparatus is compactly realized and can supply fuel on a highly stable basis. Such an apparatus is highly resistive against vibrations.
