Der so gut durchtränkte Filz wird unter einer Masse von 332 g auf der Prüffläche mittels einer Vorrichtung hin-und herbewegt (Prüfstrecke: 30 bis 50 mm). Dabei sollen in 2 Minuten 170 Doppelhübe absolviert werden. Danach werden die Prüflösungen mit vollentsalztem Wasser abgespült. Die verbleibende Oberfläche wird beurteilt.
