Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a multi-layer coating with a soft-feel effect and their use.
The term soft feeling paints are understood to mean those paints that are characterized by a special feel (grip). The softfeel effect is based essential on a combination of braking and sliding action. This gives one touches an object coated with a softfeel varnish Impression of touching a leather or velvet-like object, regardless of the actual feel of the substrate.
Soft feeling paints are used especially for painting plastics and for Automotive interior painting used.
All Examples reveal a soft feeling lacquer that also contains the pigment. Application of this soft feeling varnish to a pigmented coating is not called.
A particular problem with the soft feeling lacquers known to date is their adhesiveness on different substrates. Due to the rubber-elastic properties of a Soft feeling lacquers show such coatings on critical substrates (e.g. Plastic surfaces) poorer adhesion than comparable paints without a soft feeling effect. Adhesion promoters therefore very often have to be used in the field of plastic painting in order to achieve acceptable liability in this way.
The object of the present invention is to provide a pigmented coating with soft-feel effect and their use, with particular liability and the soft-feel effect compared to the known soft-feeling paints of the prior art Technology are improved.
This object is achieved, according to the invention, by a multi-layer coating from a coloring first layer on the substrate and one another unpigmented second layer located above the first layer, the second layer entirely or partially of an unpigmented soft-feeling lacquer is available.
The first, coloring layer can in principle be any layer, by a crosslinking or curing process of a pigmented coating composition based on organic solvents, water or powder is available.
vier voneinander unterschiedlichen Schichten (Electrocoatschicht, Füllerschicht, Basislackschicht
Varnishes which are known as so-called Basecoats "can be used for the multi-layer coating of car bodies.
This multilayer coating of automobiles generally consists of a total of four different layers (electrocoat layer, filler layer, basecoat layer and clearcoat layer).
It is the task of the basecoat layer to give the body the desired color and to provide a precisely defined adhesion to the filler layer. The latter property is particularly important for the stone chip resistance of a car paint.
Softfeeling-Lacks.A preferred embodiment of the invention is the use of a pigmented water-based lacquer to form the first, color-imparting layer. Particularly in view of the fact that for the most part only solvent-based basecoats are used for painting plastics in the automotive industry, this embodiment makes it possible to significantly reduce solvent emissions, particularly when painting on plastic substrates.
When using a color-imparting lacquer on water based, it is advantageous to briefly dry it (eg for 5 minutes at 60 ° C) before applying the unpigmented soft-feeling lacquer.
The dry film thickness has the properties of the multi-layer coating according to the invention no decisive influence, it usually lies in one Range between 12 to 40 µm.
notwendigen gummielastischen Eigenschaften verleiht.
The term "unpigrued" is understood to mean paints or coatings that do not contain any coloring pigments. Under the term
Particularly suitable binders that give the second layer the soft feeling properties confer, such binders are based on polyester / polyurethane. These binders are described in detail in European Patent 0 669 352 and are described by the Bayer AG sold under the trade name Bayhydrol®.
The soft-feel multi-layer coating according to the invention shows a significantly improved Haptics compared to the pigmented soft feeling lacquers of the prior art.
Crucial for the improved soft feeling properties of the invention Multi-layer painting is the separation of binders, which is for the actual Soft feeling effect are responsible, and the coloring pigment (s).
The dry layer thickness of the second layer is usually in a range between 15 to 60 μm.
In general, the thicker the dry layer thickness, the clearer the soft feeling effect becomes.
Another embodiment of the invention is the use of a matting agent in the second, unpigmented layer. This causes an increase in the braking effect of the finished paint layer. This way it is possible to get the exact one Adjust braking and sliding effect of the multi-layer coating according to the invention.
Die folgenden Beispiele dienen der Erläuterung der Erfindung:The multilayer coating according to the invention is particularly preferably suitable for the Painting of plastic surfaces, especially of parts of the automotive interior trim. It is particularly advantageous for the latter area that parts of the interior panels with the same paint and the same devices can be coated, such as plastic attachments (e.g. bumpers). untersucht, demnach verschiedene Prüflösungen (Plastikreiniger, Teerentferner Scheibenreiniger,
Dabei sollen in 2 Minuten 170 Doppelhübe
absolviert werden. Danach werden die Prüflösungen mit vollentsalztem Wasser
abgespült. Die verbleibende Oberfläche wird beurteilt.
The abrasion resistance is examined with a crock meter with a linen cloth without load both dry and with ethanol.
The resistance to care products is examined according to the Mercedes Benz specification DBL 7384, according to which various test solutions (plastic cleaner, tar remover, window cleaner, stain remover) are applied to a square felt (from the company Empa, St. Gallen, Switzerland) with an area of 2.25 cm 2 . The felt, so saturated, is moved back and forth on the test surface with a mass of 332 g using a device (test section: 30 to 50 mm). 170 double strokes are to be completed in 2 minutes. The test solutions are then rinsed with deionized water. The remaining surface is assessed.
Table 1 clearly shows that the multi-layer coating according to the invention with Softfeel effect significantly improved properties compared to the softfeel varnishes of the Has state of the art.
