Definitions
- the invention relates to a snowboard fixing device. She is more particularly relating to an improvement in the means for adjusting its angular position.
- the fixing device comprises a plate intended to receive and maintain a shoe, said plate having an opening toothed circular.
- the plate is held on the surf by a pivot comprising two slides having a toothing corresponding to that of the plate and intended to snap into the teeth of the latter to immobilize it in a determined position.
- the order of runners are made by means of a lever placed in the center of the binding, i.e. under the foot of the user. This arrangement implies that to change the angular position of the attachment the user must leave the binding.
- the plate is placed directly on the surface of the surf which can be a disadvantage, gravel or other can be slide between the plate and the surf and thus hinder its movement.
- Patent application FR 2 627 797 describes a fixation similar to that of application FR 2 743,306, but a little less good as regards the protection of the toothing of the plate.
- the utility certificate FR 2 726 480 discloses a fastening device comprising in particular a locking device allowing to change position without having to leave the fixation.
- the locking member is constituted by a finger cooperating with a track with openings. This provision due to its design limits the adjustment possibilities and more, as the track does not extend over the entire perimeter of the base, it will not be possible for a left-handed and right-handed person to use the fixing without the latter be reinstalled.
- fixation can be consisting of a central or pivot disc with a horizontal or vertical toothing of a movable plate rotating around said pivot, levers being engaged with said toothing so as to immobilize the plate in a determined position. In this realization nothing has been intended to protect the teeth.
- a simplified snowboard binding is described. Indeed, the latter is constituted by a crown having an internal toothing fixed directly on the surface of the surfboard inside which is disposed rotatably a central core being part of the deck. The central core being held on the surf by a second crown attached to the first and having a substantially greater width. A slide to the interior of said core is kept permanently engaged with the teeth of the first crown so as to fix the plate in a determined position.
- This achievement is not safe or it is very difficult to change the angular position of the plate. Indeed, the slide is held in its engaged position by a spring, if the latter is not strong enough the attachment will come off or if the latter is strong enough it will not be possible to push back to change the orientation angle of the plate.
- the purpose of the fixing device according to the invention is to provide a device for fixing a shoe on a snowboard that does not have the faults noted above, that is to say a binding with increased rigidity with better protection conditions for its mechanism in the best cost conditions and mechanically more reliable.
- Strength rotary produced by the driving force during use does not push back the holding spring lever but on the contrary acted on the teeth until the material is deformed.
- the device for attaching a shoe to a snowboard according to the invention defined in claim 1 achieves the goals specified above.
- a device comprises a base 2 intended to be fixed on the surface 20 (see FIG. 3) of the surf also called snowboard (for more details on the surfboards or snow as to their characteristics and the manner of using them, advantageously consult the document FR 2 743 306).
- This base is circular in shape and has a circular groove 6 in the form of an angular U, that is to say a U with a flat base and two rising branches 17 and 25.
- the external branch 25 has on its external wall a toothing 7, in the embodiment shown the toothing 7 is a conical toothing, the apex of the cone is on the axis 24 with an apex angle between 40 ° and 90 °.
- the toothing is toroidal, that is to say is inscribed inside a toroid sector.
- the toothing in its entire periphery is covered by a flange 22 which prevents snow or impurities from settling on the teeth and from altering the grip of the locking lever 10.
- the base 2 also includes a central opening 9 intended for centering of the cap or pivot 3, and of the holes 8 intended to receive screws making it possible to fix it to the surface of the surf 20 (FIGS. 3 and 4). These screws pass through the holes 19 of the cap or pivot 3 so as to fix the latter with the base 2.
- the device also comprises a plate 1, which has a part 21 in the form of a crown, visible in Figures 3 and 4, intended to be disposed in the groove 6 of the base 2 and a protective edge 22.
- the base 2 has in its center an opening 16 whose wall constitutes the internal face of the part 21 in the form of a crown, which is intended to come into abutment against the internal branch 17 of the U-shaped groove. While the outer face of the crown-shaped part 21 will come resting against the outer branch 25 of the U-shaped groove.
- This arrangement allows the platinum to have a movement that can be described as mechanical relative to the base. In indeed the stage can turn practically without friction.
- the plate 1 comprises a part 23 which is a part of the elements necessary for maintaining the shoe. In the present case, these elements belong to a so-called shoe binding. automatic or "step-in".
- the part 23 includes holes 14 intended to allow its attachment to the plate, for example by means of screws not shown. It also includes vertical parts 15 on which the other elements of the step-in fixing will be fixed ". It is understood that the plate could be designed to receive other elements known to maintain the shoe on the plate, such as a shell.
- the plate 1 which is oblong has on one of its long sides a housing 18 intended to receive a lever 4.
- This lever 4 has two arms, a first arm 10 having at its end a toothing corresponding to the toothing 7 arranged on the external part of the branch 25 of said U of the base 2, and a second arm 11 forming a control member.
- the lever 4 is articulated around an axis 12 materialized by a part 13 disposed on an element 5 intended to be fixed in the housing 18.
- FIGs 3 and 4 show a section along A-A in Figure 1.
- the device is locked position, while in FIG. 4 the device is in the unlocked position by lowering the operating member 11.
- the teeth 10 release the toothed crown 7 in rotation integral with the base 2, which allows the user to turn the plate 1 as desired.
- the lever 10 fixes the chosen position.
- the operating member 11 can be omitted.
- the adjustment will be made by means of an object such as an appropriate rod which is introduced into a fitted hole in lever 4. This is to avoid untimely adjustments.
- the fixing according to the invention can be made of light metal, for example of alloy aluminum or synthetic material of appropriate strength.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a snowboard fixing device. She is more particularly relating to an improvement in the means for adjusting its angular position.
0 285 558, US 5 584 492.The bindings relating to a shoe on snowboard are known, in particular by patents
or following patent applications:
In
The
The teaching provided by document EP 0 761 261 teaches us that the fixation can be consisting of a central or pivot disc with a horizontal or vertical toothing of a movable plate rotating around said pivot, levers being engaged with said toothing so as to immobilize the plate in a determined position. In this realization nothing has been intended to protect the teeth.
In document EP 0 285 558, a simplified snowboard binding is described. This achievement is not safe or it is very difficult to change the angular position of the plate. Indeed, the slide is held in its engaged position by a spring, if the latter is not strong enough the attachment will come off or if the latter is strong enough it will not be possible to push back to change the orientation angle of the plate.
The purpose of the fixing device according to the invention is to provide a device for fixing a shoe on a snowboard that does not have the faults noted above, that is to say a binding with increased rigidity with better protection conditions for its mechanism in the best cost conditions and mechanically more reliable. Strength rotary produced by the driving force during use does not push back the holding spring lever but on the contrary acted on the teeth until the material is deformed.
The device for attaching a shoe to a snowboard according to the invention defined in
In all the figures the various elements constituting the device have been designated by the same reference signs.
As can be seen in FIG. 1, a device according to the invention comprises a
The
bordure de protection 22.The device also comprises a
automatique ou « step-in ».
The
The
We will now explain the operation of the device with reference to Figures 3 and 4. The
Figures 3 and 4 show a section along A-A in Figure 1. In Figure 3 the device is
locked position, while in FIG. 4 the device is in the unlocked position by
lowering the
The fixing according to the invention can be made of light metal, for example of alloy aluminum or synthetic material of appropriate strength.
It goes without saying that the invention is not limited to the sole embodiment of this fixing of surf, which has been described above by way of example, but embraces all of the variant embodiments, that a person skilled in the art could bring to it, in particular as regards the shape of the base of the plates or material used for the realization.
